I ran into a similar problem on my 00' F 150, stock connectors don't fit new speakers. Instead of soldering, I bought the adapter for about $1.50 which bridges the stock connector to the new speaker. It's a nice tight fit, and sometimes over time solder can fail. Either way works though, enjoyed the video, will have to check out the rest of them.
Tom S Nice! I didn't know they had adapters. I just stuck with the no cost retro fit method. Yeah I will always keep an eye on those solder joints. So far so good! Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy the other videos!
Hey, Steve! I understand that this video is already 7 years old, but perhaps you remember what kind of plays they were and where you bought them? I've already ordered several options from Amazon, but none of them work!
So I bought mine from Amazon. This link is for the back speakers👇 amzn.to/4dYVyvF I can’t find the round ones for the doors. I do know they are Infinity brand 6.5 diameter.
Actually swiss army knives are badass little knives, as long as you buy a Victorinox or Wenger. Helps if you know how to sharpen properly and understand geometry. But yes, 3 way coax speakers are lame.
True! I've had my share of genuine Victorinox knives. Sometimes just a plane blade would do the trick. I did some research before buying my speakers. Independent speakers for each range or 2 way were the way to go.
@@TheMinuteMastersthanks that's what I was hoping and they sound good so I'd say it worked.. awesome videos, I really wish I would've found your channel long ago lol
Hawkman 76 So I haven’t done this before but from what I’ve heard. In order to wire more speakers you need a four channel or two channel amp. The back of your head unit has RCA wires for hooking up an amp. Once the amp is hook up to those wires. You then wire your two extra speakers into the speaker/sub ports on the amp. However, if it’s more sound you’re going for the amp usually does that without adding speakers. As far as speaker placement, is your truck a single cab, crew cab, or super crew?
Shannon Bunch I used the stock wiring. From what I found poking around on the net, large wires doesn't make a difference in sound quality. The only time it does is when you are run speaker wires over 25-30+ feet. Even then bigger is only better to a point.
OH MY GOSH THIS MAN HAS DONE EVERYTHING ON HIS TRUCK THAT IVE HAD TO DO
I love you
You’re welcome!
@@TheMinuteMasters I used your videos as a reference for like everything that I did in my truck
Workin my way thru all your videos. Thank god for your videos! I have an old 1990 f150 and your videos are a god send!
Wil D Good to hear! Keep her running and I'll keep the videos coming! Thanks for watching!

I recently bought all 4 speakers for my wife's OBS through Crutchfield & they actually threw in the adapter pig tails. I thought that was pretty neat.
Which one did u get? I got on and one of the tip things are a different size so one fits speaker one doesnt
Thanks for the video, great job
You’re welcome Dennis!🤙 Thanks for watching!
Very informative. Thumbs up

Metra sells plug and play harnesses so you don't have to splice or solder anything. Metra 72-5512
Someone mentioned that, but I could remember what the company was that made the harness. Thanks for sharing Robert!🤙
Was wondering if you knew which wire was negative coming out of the door panel when you matched it up to the new speaker with the old connector?
I don’t. I just matched everything up and made sure it worked.

I'm going to take the clip from the old speakers to put on the new one... Do you know for sure which was the positive and negative sides one the clip?
west side fishing I can verify for sure. I’m pretty sure I just compared the two wiring set ups and just imitated it on the new speaker.

west side fishing Nice! Glad it worked out! Thanks man! 🤙 I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Do you have the amazon link for these
There should be one in the video description. Otherwise, they are Infinity brand 6.5 in diameter 2way speakers.
Is your truck purple Steve? good video, very helpful thanks!
Tonya Lawson It sure is! It's a factory Ford colored called Bright Sapphire Metallic. Good to hear! Thanks for watching!
The Minute Masters oh ok it's a cool color!
Thanks! I love it!
Any issue with the door panel going over the new speakers? “Bulging” ?
Nope. The speakers sit pretty flush with the actual door frame. I think I might have 1/4 inch or so before the speaker touches the door panel.
❤️❤️
How do you wire extra speakers in it. And where could you put them.
Hawkman 76 So I haven’t done this before but from what I’ve heard. In order to wire more speakers you need a four channel or two channel amp. Single cabs can get speakers to be put in the roof they sell a new headliner with 4 spots to put them
hey man just curious....if u upgraded the speaker wire (14 or 16 gauge) would u be able to notice the sound difference...
Shannon Bunch I used the stock wiring. From what I found poking around on the net, large wires doesn't make a difference in sound quality. The only time it does is when you are run speaker wires over 25-30+ feet. Even then bigger is only better to a point.
What size of speaker are the front and rear?
Alfonso Carrasco So the front I believe are 6-1/2” and the rest are 6x9.🤙
Can you send me the speaker insulation and speaker mounts links?
The strips of speaker insulation came with particular brand of speaker. As for mounting the speaker, the speaker screws straight to the door frame.
Just bought some 6 1/2 for the front and they do not fit.
Really? Were they too big or too small?
@@TheMinuteMasters a bit too big. I’ll have to revisit that and take some pictures.
What size speakers are these
804 Bassin They are 6-1/2 inch speakers. Buy your speakers from amazon. They are usually cheaper than a parts store.
Ok thanks alot
804 Bassin No problem! Thanks for watching!
