The most inspiring rap song ever. This song is still relevant today and will always be. SLICK RICK THE RULER!!!!!
This song saved my life. I was running wild in the late 80's until 93. Now I speak a second language and working on my PHD. To be honest this song still makes me cry especially when I look at this generation.
Congratulations Khaleel! Thank God you got the message!!

Well stay on your grind do give up
I hope that many of our youths will heed the same
He really had us on some royalty type of shit back in the days. Uplifting messages way back then! True legend!!!! Best days of my life!

A man never looses a fight in God sight!
I had a neighbor who drove a navy blue 79 cadillac deville on trues an vogues. His system would bump this hard for about a year on his way home from work. You could literally hear him coming 10 blocks away. It was like waiting for the ice cream man. I loved every minute of it.
Its crazy because i just realized what he was doing. He was trying to send us kids a message. He was the 1st young man with a wife an kids that i had ever seen buy a home. At 1st we thought he was a drug dealer but he worked for GM.
Cool dude, love the message
Wow, thanks for painting the picture ! I felt that as if he was my neighbor! Hats of to him , working man with a family!
Its a damn shame that they don't make music like this anymore-This is when hip-hop artist made positive songs and informed their audience about what's going on in the world. I can't picture any today mainstream artist making a song like this in this day and age.
The shame is they do, but this type of music gets no love cause it doesnt fit the agenda.
Lol on the same album he made a song called "lick the balls"

Don’t J Cole and Kendrick Lamar make at least some thoughtful songs?

Back when it was cool to be smart and show love
Strange Lady what about these days 😀😀
Sad thing is it wasnt even cool back then Rick just had the heart to spread this message anyway, the kids desperately needed it
So everyone acting dumb and showing hate should be ignored.....not payed attention to.....its contagious.
That never stopped being cool, don't let toxic pop culture and the media distort your perception. It's easy to succumb to all that bullshit, but it's all an illusion.

I'm 23 and just now starting to truly appreciate this. When I was in high school I thought this was lame.. I was too busy doing stupid shit thinking it was cool or funny. Now this type of music resonates with me and just makes me laugh at how blinded I was by the music I was listening to and the people I was hanging with.
Peace and love to everyone! ✌❤

I'm 12 and i hate music today its not even music its just a bunch of people saying anything and getting paid for it and not helping anything not making the world a better place not in any way you might think I'm to young but i know whats going on in the world and i wish i was born in a different time period just saying.

Lost my mum few months ago, she was quite young. Very sudden. We had a complicated relationship and were never really close. I secretly always had this song in my heart for many years. That I would make her proud, solve her debt problems, see her happy with someone who respected her. I know this song isn't about all of that but it always gave me the drive to do better and to make things work for her. Anyway, special piece of music.
