........
This beat is so Jazzy... smooth as hell.
it has that significant 80's synth lead
Musa I of Mali yea, it is
smootha than Colt45!!

Definitely lil Kim and big daddy Kane at 0:14 😍😍😌 the good ole days!
New York had a powerful movement in HipHop in the 80s.. I miss those days
You should change your name to Captain Obvious.
tell em jay swiss k off the backboard
Ed Reed lol 😂
Yeah the hiphop movement was uplifting just possitive messages to the youth until that fake gangsta rap changed our beloved music and art forever, and once the them devil's the powers that be saw how that evil music was controlling and destroying our YOUTH he pushed it to the forefront and push real conscious HipHop to the underground an attempt to get rid of it for good😡💪👊✊👉👈☝️👑
LOL.. well that's when and where hip hop started... lol....
Slick rick will forever be the king of story telling..
Amazing how slick was so ahead of his time

P. Dilla this is amazing song!!! true hip hop!! love it
P. Dilla yes, me too! This was my jam back in the day!
yes man. I use to listen to todays music but its just not good. this was the good clean real rap.
This song hit so hard for me when it came out. I was home from school for the holidays and my boyfriend at the time and I were ending our relationship. I started to see more of the world outside of Harlem and he thought that I went to college and switched up. Bittersweet memories at best!! He would lose his life the following summer in 1989. Rest In Peace Moe!!! Bittersweet memories of a young love. Much love from Harlem NYC ❤️❤️❤️
What wow...😜🤘
MAY HE REST IN ETERNAL PEACE
@@Sarah-dj5eh thank you. Moe was a good guy who got caught up in the game. He was only 21 when he was murdered. So many beautiful black men lost in the quest for fast money. I saw his mother and baby sister recently and his mother still has that aura of sadness around her.
@@harlemsfinest7707 Children aren't suppose to pass before their parents and if they should it is a heart break that can never b mended. I too have lost friends even some from New York who came to CT to hustle. I've experienced alot in my 45 years of bein on Earth. I pray for his family and that they find solace in their memories and you as well. Memories and dreams are all that we are left wit when a loved one passes on.

the boys use to rap this in lunch and eight grade gym..... Good old days, no violent rap, rapping about things teenagers were going through.
Lil Kim was soo cute in her tiny part In the beginning of this video. 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Wow, I just found out Lil Kim was in this video. Such a cutie pie. She was naturally beautiful!! Such a classic and good times in the 80s. 🔥🔥🔥🥰🥰🙌🙌

And no samples...written and produced by them
Too many fake gangsta’s out there now. I miss those days. 80’s 90’s the golden age of rap!
I bet nobody noticed Lil Kim in the beginning of the video, classic Slick Rick still jamming 2023 going into 2024

A 70s baby. I was 13 when this song came out in '88. The days when we wore striped colored biker shorts w/ color t-shirts to match. I had "Teenage Love" printed on the back of my t-shirt as a teenager. I'm blessed to have grown up in this era. Good music and good wholesome fun.
Rick always has great messages that still resonate today
He is being genuine with his British articulation combined with his contemporary American English
Man, I'm SO glad I'm a 70's baby and got to enjoy the GLORY years of hip hop in the 80's/90's!
I remember cutting grass to make money and standing in the record store for HOURS on Tuesdays with my LAST $15 dollars trying to figure out which album to spend it on. EVERYBODY was putting out quality music.
Now, at 41, I have a LOT more money on me and don't wanna buy ANY of these trash ass rappers' albums.
Yes
word!! big up to all the other 70's babies out there....this was my jam
I agree with you 100 percent, I’m a 70’s baby born in 1974 and I’m so proud to have been able to grow up listening to music that delivered a positive and clear message about life’s experiences..

Philicia Drayton Yep. They look fresh. Not all beat up and worn out. Fake butts, too much make up, fake boobs etc......Just classy.
Exactly no booty showing and boobs in the video no wild crazy hair styles. Now back then in the 80's the women looking like real women. I miss these days. Rap music was so much better than it is now.
The art of real storytelling I miss it

Word...all fatherless daughters should listen to this song. Wish my dad would have been around to warn me about this as a teen.
Nj99 That's so true, I never knew my father, and I WISH I NEVER knew my stepfather. He was an alcoholic, heavy drug user, and he beat our mother for years, she never left. I have such an awful opinion about black men. I never trusted them, couldn't get close enough to them because the pain I experienced as a child. I don't know what a healthy relationship is with a black man.
Lord jesus!!!
@@traceyparkinson2982 You have just summarize my childhood and current life experiences.
Tell me
What happenend with the relationship between your mother and step-father at the end?
I want to know my own destiny
@@traceyparkinson2982 Damn sorry to hear that Sis
@Tyrant Jesus, well they divorced, but that still didn't end the craziness, he had to move out, but our mother would let him come around, especially when she needed money, and, about 15 years later, they REMARRIED, on his BIRTHDAY, of all days!!!
They are both well into their 70's, in fact my mom will be 76 tomorrow, their health is failing, I don't think they ever loved one another, I just think over the years, they just learned to tolerate the other, but none of that even matters, our childhood was ruined, and those are years we will never get back, I resent them both, and as a result, I am not close to either of them, and although they live less than 10 minutes from me, I rarely see them

It’s sad that kids today will never know how this era shaped the world. E has the best childhood musically, mentally, and the culture it’s taken for granted.
