I'll say I'm a bigger fan of 2Pac than Biggie but, when it comes to something to listen to at night or by myself or just to chill and feel good...... Biggie gets the nod. This beat is a good example of the spots biggie hits on the regular that others can do but, there's just something special about his ability to cut through to the soul. Im 38 so I grew up with this era of music and just can't get into the newer stuff so I just keep listening to this stuff and that's just fine with me.
I think I was in the 9th grade in 1997 when this came out. I miss the 90s and my friends I had at the time. This song remind me of being overseas in Okinawa, Japan on base.
This song gives me chills everytime I listen to it so real and raw you can feel it in your soul I love it R.I.P. B.I.G. Poppa there will never be another like you
Man I didn't know this song until highschool but that was me when i was a kid people talked crap everyday my closest friends would roast me at school everyday and i never got into fights because i thought id kill somebody...but i just took it because i saw their struggle even if noone else and knew it was a cover. I had one pair of red ass filas that people gunt everyday and two shirts and some track pants i would just switch the shirt and i never had underwear until i could work so i just used my gym shorts. he say you wanna see the inside ill see you later i never had anybody come over especially a girl so i didn't date because my mom is a hoarder and we had so many roaches when you come in and turn on the lights 100s of them scatter and we all used to stomp them. it grossed me out and sometimes theyd even crawl out of your bag in class and you just try and play it off or kill it immediately. it was so horrible. that's what its like. I wanted to be that bully sometimes like he claimed to be but luckily i grew up in evanston not the west side or south side of chicago cuz i wouldve kilt a lot of people or they wouldve killed me.
The video depicting kids in such adult like situations transports me mentally to a place where I'm a kid with a dream. To this day, this song reminds me that anything is possible. Go for it
This is why Biggie is #1 The lyricism, the play-word, the flow, the ear for the instrumentals to floss on. For that and more this man’s legacy is untouched. 2023 and beyond 💫

It’s a sample from Bobby Caldwell’s “My Flame”. Biggie had good taste, and I respect him for using such a great track. I highly recommend you check out Caldwell’s song.
This was the cutest video ever made. I wish that East Coast/West Coast bullshit never brewed between two of the greatest rappers to have ever graced the mic. RIP Big. They'll never be another one like you.
The media intensified the shit, Tupac said it was smaller than that. It was out of disrespect, not what the news said it was. The interview wasn't even made public until after Biggie's death.
this video is probably the most touching I have seen, considering that they shot this after his death. Really makes it more bittersweet with the message he portrayed in the song and video. RIP Biggie.
idk bruh he's good burt not interesting to watch in 2024 we got only Six Mello as the primal one cuz of the way he moves (he just the most hated artist now) idk why tho
This song takes my breath away each & every damn time. The way the beat rattles against Biggie's hard-hittin' rhymes is excellently flawless. Not to mention the video was creative as hell. Solicits yesteryear memories of my bro & I sitting in front of the TV and catching up on BET music videos mixed in with our favorite Fox Kids shows. 1998 days...
I was 16 the years Tupac and Biggie left this earth. This was my area of music and there has been no one ever since they passed that can even come close to those legends in music.
I am a die hard biggie fan and always when I listen to his music I can just imagine what it has been like to live in brooklyn at 80s-90s. The feeling is just so special and no other artist has ever gave me that feeling. I can't really explain it but yeah. I was born in the year of 2003 in Finland so I have literally no experience in anyway of "gang life" or anything like that and I am very saddened by the fact that I couldn't ever witness biggie live. But yeah I dont think anyone really cares about my story but I just needed to write it down as this song is so good. If u actually read this, thank you for spending your valuable time to this Edit 6.5.2022: Never did I expect this comment to "blow up" and to get so many interesting replies, thank you for those. I just wanted to specify that Im not "admiring" the gang life or nun but instead extremely interested that how does it feel like to know that any second someone may come around the corner and just start shooting. Other thing is what I already mentioned earlier that I would pay any amount to just see Biggie perform live, and also I am interested to know yall's favourite biggie songs so leave them in the comments below also. My favourite is Unbelievable. The beat is so perfect and Biggie changes his flow so many times in that song, It is a masterpiece as are many other biggie songs. Whoever is reading this I hope you the best of a day!!!
From what my dad has told me its like walking home from school dodging shootouts and drug addicts just trying to get home. Then you get older and your friend picks you up in their car and once u get in u find out its stolen. Getting into a fight by 3 get home by 4 smoke an L come back out and your bike got stolen. Then u get a call that ur friend got shot. All in 1 day. So much BS

What people don't understand is that rappers have changed as society has changed. We live in a generation where today teenagers are hooked up to music that is most suited to them. Advancement of technologies, clothes, foods etc. are factors that influence change in our society. This causes a rise in a new taste of music. My mother listens to these old type of songs and asked why she listens to it and she replied by: " Look son this song i am listening to, takes me back to the old days and makes me feel good" Her taste now is different to my taste of music. Don't blame the rappers, we can't control the evolution of our society.
I grew up throughout the 2000s and I hated nearly everything that came out, still hate most of the songs out today! I used to listen to classic music when my mates were listening to bassy shit...I blame these fake ass Musicians for shaping the music industry today. It's so fucked...songs are complete garbage...I'm 25 years old...I hate bass. I hate partying. My god...did I grow up in the classic ages? nope... so I don't agree with what you're saying right here. Sure it's a good point but nope, don't like it.
+chickenkiller i know it, but he said thet he would be done with music after 4 more albums... why? why didnt he want to make music for all his own life?
This is one of the best songs from biggie. A positive vibe and message . If you can't relate to this get your brain checked out by a neurologist. The sky is the limit should strike a chord to everyone. This is the truth. Real talk. Rip biggie.
Lydell Gillett Yes the song and sound are awesome but the music makes me a bit sad.It makes me think of my beloved friends or relatives that died and of the death.
Exactly. I wish Biggie made more introspective songs like this instead of the negative, senselessly violent and hedonistic songs that made up the majority of his catalog. Only other good Biggie songs I could think of are Juicy, Suicidal Thoughts, Everyday Struggle and Miss U

That ain't no shit. I'm 38 so this was what I e stuck with. Dre is the master of putting it all together but this track just hits home like very few others can. Nostalgia is a powerful emotion we all should seek and appreciate and relish n. Like some use drugs for, tracks like this just wipe away all difficulties, if even for a few minutes. There's some decent artists out there currently but it's not even close to the same and I stick with what I know is good, a creature of habit, and I'm totally content with hearing this stuff over and over forever.
I was hanging around with friends in the streets, drinking and smoking and the best thing that could happen back in those days was a hood brawl. Nothing to see..... In the nights, I used to play this song and dream on anytime when we where drunk.... years later I took all my courage and went back to school with 21 and now, Im about to become a teacher. 2pac and Biggie helped me on this hard path. I believe that there are more examples out there, their life was not wasted, I´m sure, their message reached a lot more than me.

Sad that it happened because of his demise
I'll say I'm a bigger fan of 2Pac than Biggie but, when it comes to something to listen to at night or by myself or just to chill and feel good...... Biggie gets the nod. This beat is a good example of the spots biggie hits on the regular that others can do but, there's just something special about his ability to cut through to the soul. Im 38 so I grew up with this era of music and just can't get into the newer stuff so I just keep listening to this stuff and that's just fine with me.
This is my favorite Biggie song

Biggie is boss. RIP

this video is probably the most touching I have seen, considering that they shot this after his death. Really makes it more bittersweet with the message he portrayed in the song and video. RIP Biggie.

If u actually read this, thank you for spending your valuable time to this
Edit 6.5.2022:
Never did I expect this comment to "blow up" and to get so many interesting replies, thank you for those.

Then u get a call that ur friend got shot. All in 1 day. So much BS

"If the game shakes me or breaks me I hope it makes me a better man."
- Legend
What people don't understand is that rappers have changed as society has changed. We live in a generation where today teenagers are hooked up to music that is most suited to them. Advancement of technologies, clothes, foods etc. are factors that influence change in our society. This causes a rise in a new taste of music. My mother listens to these old type of songs and asked why she listens to it and she replied by: " Look son this song i am listening to, takes me back to the old days and makes me feel good" Her taste now is different to my taste of music. Don't blame the rappers, we can't control the evolution of our society.
Frank Brunetti last I checked, the earth was still round and blue (with some brown, orange, white, grey and green)
Frank Brunetti what?
Sensible..exactly my point of view.
