These are the type of Superman stories I love to read. No evil Superman, no treating him like Jesus, but rather showcasing his humanity despite being an alien
Showcasing his humanity. But he’s not human. The iterations of superman becoming compromised are interesting because we all know it’s a big deal. It’s good to explore that.
@@designatedpiledriver8216I agree, moments where Superman actually struggles and has to find other ways to win situations that doesn’t consist of just punching or heat visioning his way out of them are my favorite
An unstoppable force, and an immovable object, a heart of gold and a soul of platinum. A Man of Steel, a Man of Tomorrow. But more than all these, he is one thing: He is Superman. Thanks for doing a Superman: Up in the Sky scan, man. Great story.
No matter what, superman will sacrifice his body and go to ridiculous lengths to ensure people’s safety. He may not be a human but he’s a great example of what it means to be one
Any human who has ever existed is a great example of what it means to be human, we like to turn our heads to our ugly moments, but someone like the Joker is just as human as Superman.
"it ain't how hard you hit, its how you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done!!!"
The real answer atleast pre new 52 is that Hal was closest to Abin Surs crash sight. Guy,Bruce,Clark,Dick Grayson were all considered options but Dick was too young Bruce unstable, Hal was close
I like to imagine it's political reasons. What with clark being a non native of earth and Kryptonians having a complicated history with the lantern corps. The guardians of oa would probably get caught up in nonsense like that
There was this "series" about Wave Rider who could see alternate futures, and in 1 of the futures, Superman became President of the United States. Guy Gardner (of course) tried to take him down ("impeach" him). Well, Superman WILLED the GL Ring OFF of Guy and reformed it around his hand. Hal, John Stewart and some other GL's showed up and took Guy away to some nice padded cell. Also, Hall said that with the permission of the Guardians of Oa, they were going to allow him to keep the ring, and gave him a Lantern to charge the ring. Superman turned it down. He said it was too much power for 1 person to have. So, 1) Will to reform the ring around his hand and 2) the Will to turn away from the power the ring represented. That is awesome. There was also one of those "what if" alternate futures stories back in the '80's and it basically said the if Krypton had not exploded, then Kal-El (not Superman) would have become the greatest Green Lantern in history.

Perfect. Thank you for posting this. I believe this captures the essence of Superman. Not some power to be measured to, not some evil god, but a man that will do *ANYTHING* to save somebody especially a child.
I love stories that Shows off an unbreakable will and the strength of humanity. When two fighters are near evenly, match in skill and strength collide, the one with the strongest will power shall will win the fight.
I wish there were more of these. I get so tired of Supergod and I miss stories about Superman. You want Superman to be relatable and interesting, he has to get bloodied and bruised. He has to overcome adversity of some kind. This was great.
Doesn't need to always be bloodied and bruised. Just challenged be it mentally or physically or a bit of both. But let's not use that as an opportunity to make him weak
What! Superman hasnt put on the gloves since Muhammed Ali! And stories like these are golden i love no holds barred, all out all natural slug fest. No ridiculous powers, no gadgets, no healing factors or any of kinda senseless bullshit, just toe to toe, 1 on 1 💪🥊👍🥊💪
Looking at this, Kal’s fight with Mighto gives off strong Rocky vibes especially considering Mighto gives off powerful Ivan Drago and Clubber Lang vibes.

Fernando Comics, GREAT song to Superman's struggle; it reminds me when Rocky told Adonis Creed that the biggest opponent that Creed will ever face is in the mirror. That thought is applicable to us all.
I mean. Superman takes beatings from darkseid. Nerfed or not. Clark definitely knows how to take a beating. Plus let’s not forget all the times people have drained Clark’s powers. A lot of people tend to forget, that Clark is much more than his powers.
@@FernandoComicsOfficial no problem, please do the final chapter to please, is so good, the entire justice league were failing while Superman were winning
Question: How many characters in New 52 before Rebirth scale to or above Superman? I need names and feats. I don't mean fighting him or knocking him off his feet. That's not scaling. It seems a lot, if not most of the Justice League and Earth-based heroes REALLY suck in feats. Besides Superman and Flash, it seems most of the League and Kryptonians are featless and doesn't even scale to Superman in strength or Flash in speed
