@@doom1509 Probably something to do with copyright, and also giving other composers and singers a job opportunity. I mean I don't know how the industry works, but the same thing happened for the Shaman King remake despite them bring back most of the old cast to reprise their respective roles. Megumi Hayashibara came back to sing a new intro for Shaman King remake (she did both openings of the old adaptation). The show even brought back and used the first intro of the old adaptation for one scene during an episode, as a throwback. Yet they still had to get new songs and soundtracks. We anime watchers enjoy our old tracks, but there's likely a lot going on in the real business world that makes it so we can't get old songs back. At least that's my guess as to why remakes don't re-use old tracks.
Saxophones when used correctly can really make a tune memorable and great right of the bat, this is one of the many reasons why I think Noriyuki Asakura is one of the greatest composers of music in Anime and Video Games, just take a look at what he did for the Tenchu series, it sounds just like this.
Not only that, but the composer used Saxes AND Violins in the bridge (Sax and Violins are usually replacements for each other depending on if you are an orchestra or a symphony the woodwinds and strings usually are playing the same sheet music, so to double-up on essentially the same functionality of sound is awesome)
I HOPE the new series uses old songs and/or OP and ED themes eventually. The new soundtrack is good But Asakura Noriyuki's can't be replaced, and should be appreciated. Maybe the remake anime is saving this theme for a dope moment (I hope)
