Baylan's goal seems similar to Luke's in TFA and TLJ. Both watched their Jedi Temple burn and both could not make sense of it. Luke seemed to be searching for an answer to it all but came to the conclusion that the Force is too great and far reaching for any one individual to affect it. Baylan may end up coming to the same conclusion; or he'll become part of the endless cycle: an ironic fate.

But I've absolutely loved Ahsoka so far and the focus on her, Sabine, Hera, Ezra, Jacen, and Huyang, so I am hoping for a season 2.
With regards to what Baylan's searching for, I think it will either be The World Between Worlds like you said, or the source of the nightsister's power/ something new, or something related to the Mortis Gods, or maybe them themselves. I don't usually go overboard with theories, but with Filoni I think it's more likely as he has used them before in both Clone Wars and Rebels. Plus the way we've expanded on the Nightsisters, and how people have connected it to the Zeffo, the Mortis God's could very easily be tied into this ancient force lore as well.
I got to thinking if he's searching for the "beginning" couldn't that possibly be Mortis itself that he's trying to find? It would be ironic considering he's been so consumed by his search that he's tried to kill Ahsoka, the one person alive that could tell him about it and is actually directly connected to it. Q&A: Thrawn is big on analyzing art to understand the culture of a world and what the people are like. If he came across Earth, what art do you think he'd pick up, and what would he deduce about us?
I definitely think Ezra jinxed their current means of escape: the Chimaera. BUT it would be really cool if Shin, after going back with Thrawn & co., somehow steals the hyperspace chart to Peridea and hands it over to the NR (Hera?) because she has a change of heart and/or wants to rescue Baylan. That would really "rhyme" with Sabine's decision to save Ezra as well.
Baylan Skoll represents a good portion of the audience. He misses the Jedi order but dislikes what it became. He wants a new beginning but not just a rehash of what came before. Like with his training of Shin, he is preparing something better than the Jedi. And he doesn't want endless conflict. We want the stories that came before to mean something. Bringing balance to the force felt more like a bandaid in the end, and his desire to have a definitive resolution mirrors that frustration that older fans have. It's not just one type of SW fan. He has a little bit of the desires of a bunch of us. I sadly think that Baylan will learn a hard lesson. But whether that means the consequences are immediate or drawn out, I can't say. Anakin made this mistake and had to suffer as Vader. It had serious consequences throughout the galaxy that took a while to play out. Baylan throws shade at Anakin for what he became and I can see him having a "what have I done moment" where he dug his grave and now he has to lay in it. A slave to the power he coveted. Now in my opinion, you don't travel to a new galaxy for the first time in Star Wars, allude to an incredible power, and then don't use this world building to lay the foundation for fresh new stories in this franchise. Narratively, it would be a seriously missed opportunity. Something as uncharted as this has so much potential because it isn't bound by the same rules we know. And for that reason, I think Baylan is the secret big story of season one.
IMO, there just isnt enough time in the finale for A/S/E to confront Thrawn, fail to stop him from returning, get home and then meet up with people. It would be rushed and theyve not yet done a lot of stuff which they need to (Ezra talking about Thrawn and the new galaxy and Sabine telling Ezra the truth).
I agree with Molly, I don't think there will be a Rebels crew reunion yet, hopefully in Deason 2. I believe Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine and Huyang will be stuck on Peridia, Thrawn and his fleet will make it back to "our" galaxy, and then have a space battle with the Home One, defeating the little fleet or even destroying it. (I only say that because I think there's a reason they showed the Home One earlier this season) This would be a huge cliffhanger and shocking but great ending for a first season!
saw this on another channel but I think Baylan wants to destroy the WBW, which is the force dimension thingy that the Zeffos created. He thinks that will end the cycle. The spirits of powerful Jedi and Sith have access to this dimension. He destroys it (but not before the heroes are able to use it to return home) and that release the spirits that resided there. One of the spirits shoots over Exegol where there's an empty clone body waiting to be inhabited. Putting the "somehow" in "somehow Palpatine returned"
Concerning Baylan, what if it’s not a race calling to him but the THOR YOR? Now i haven't read the Dawn of the Jedi comics myself, just an avid Wookiepedia surfer, but the idea of the Thor Yor has always interested me. Large mysterious floating pyramids find force users and are then studied and used to transport across the galaxy, starting both the Jedi and intergalatic relations (also invasions i guess... looking at you Rakatans). As we have progressed through the Ahsoka show, the little drips and hints of what may truly be in this new galaxy and on Perida have us all thinking about potential races and plot points. The Grysk, Yuuzhan Vong, Rakatans and now even The Abaloth is being thrown about as a possibility. All of which I think would be fun and interesting additions to our 'offical' canon. That said, my mind keeps coming back to the Thor Yor. Yes the Grysk would make sense, given we have Thrawn, and the other races all could work and play a role in telling the coming story. But Baylan talks of the endless cycle of wars, the beginning of it all, training Shin in a different way, hearing the calls of something great and powerfull... and all i can think of are those damn cool looking floating mystery pyramids. What it means, where it leads I have no idea but I guess time will tell. What do people think?
Now I want a short (TOTJ?) with Huyang disguised as a different droid or a clone. My thoughts on coming up with finale theories or predictions: "Perhaps, I don't have to."
Baylan’s comments about the “beginning” and “stories” make me feel like there is something here pointing to the Dawn of the Jedi film. For now, perhaps it is a method for our heroes to return to our familiar galaxy after the villains have apparently stranded them. For later, maybe it is the first Force nexus linked the Big Bang that relates to our first Jedi’s ability to touch the Force.
My vote on Baylan is either the World Between Worlds or an Abeloth-like thing (they don't have to carry the name over from Legends, but I think an immensely powerful Force being, maybe human-like and maybe not, makes sense). Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Palpatine wanted to keep Huyang as an information resource. That droid knows a LOT of Force stuff.
Q&A: I don't know if this is going to show this in the Ahsoka finale or not. If the New Republic did found out that Sabine Wren caused a war and not destroyed the map that leads to Grand Admiral Thrawn reunited, do you think the Court of The New Republic would try to execute Sabine for making this happen if Thrawn did attacked Corusant from his return?
@@corruptpixel8441execute?!!! Dude … she enabled like a smart general to return. Not Thanos The rest of the pieces to the war will happen with or or without Thrawn - thety are already there with that Shadow council
I have a feeling Ezra is getting to a decision that for him, “home” means staying with the Noti on Peridea. Just the last scene and how he was looking at them and holding hands when he was talking about home…
Pellaeon was the most Watsonian Watson-to-Thrawn's-Holmess. He is my favorite, mostly but not only for the rest of his Legends storyline (except for that ignominious end). And I just assume that Huyang wasn't in the Temple during Knightfall. If he had been, he'd have gone down fighting - or, if neither the 501st nor Vader was smart enough to detsroy him, Palpatine would have wanted him either captured or destroyed. He carries *way* too much Jedi lore and knowledge to be treated as just another of the Order's droids.
I don't wanna go with Abeloth force entity's and the like. I see Baylan as more of a Darth Traya ( KOTOR ) who may want to wound the force 4:40. I Wanna put my money there.
I think Baylan is Don Quixote. What he seeks is all in his head. Brilliant acting by the late & great Ray Stevenson. I've enjoyed Ahsoka ever so much! 👏👏👏
I like the idea that whatever Baylan does allows for the usual “barrier” between life and death to weaken or change, which is what makes it possible for Sidious to return, dark side adherents and the Acolytes of Beyond to rally and Exegol to become the gathering place for true believers, all to set up TROS.
@@trombonegamer14 I don’t see it as addressing “inadequacies” at all. SW storytelling has always alluded to unaddressed “lore” casually, then filled it in later, like Ben’s mention of “The Clone Wars” or the “Republic” in ANH, or mentioning “The Emperor” in ANH and TESB but barely showing him in 10 seconds of TESB. By that thinking, wasn’t Dave Filoni brought into SW to lead a multi-season animated Clone Wars series to fill the “inadequacy” of what Lucas could get done with Ep 2 and 3? I love SW dropping things, then picking it all up later. I think sometimes audiences get a little impatient, imho. 1977, 1980, and 1983 audiences seemed more chill, but then again, we didn’t have the internet to amplify the gripes.
@BrickSomething clone wars really retconned a lot of the prequels to work as a series. Ahsoka being the obvious massive change that had no indication in the movies. Other changes include making the clones likeable loyal characters that only killed jedi because of a chip, making Anakin a totally different character, and making Padme actually competent
Not my idea originally, but I'm still thinkin' that Baylan is trying to become a Bendu type creature and "balance" the Force out of constant fighting! Either another Bendu, or something even more! I admit, doing a Bendu in live action will be expensive...
Maybe Baylan will interact with The Whills in some way (the authors of fate in the SW universe). Baylan seems to be a stand-in for a certain kind of fan who wishes the sequels (or prequels, depending on your generation) didn't exist. He'll need to learn that you can't erase any part of the tapestry of the story of SW. That would be some justice for GL's intended sequels, too.
QnA: 501st was with Anakin during order 66 (and all clone wars). Then officially Anakin died on Mustafar. Later, Vader was put in charge of 501st. Yes, the clones were replaced by ordinary people, but not instantly. So, my the question is: do you think some of them would be able to put two and two together and understand that their "bosses" are similar in habits, tactics and swordfighting style?
This season will end with Thrawn back in the main galaxy with Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra and Huyang stuck in Perditia. Season 2 will see them struggle to come back and ends with their arrival in the main galaxy setting up the premise for the Thrawn movie. Meanwhile Mando, Grogu, Bobba Fett and Cob Vanth and Carson Teva will in the next season of the Mandalorian and/or Book of Bobba Fett, discover Thrawn arrival and the coordination of the Imperial remnants with Thrawn and also set up the premise for the Thrawn movie. Baykal is the wild card. I have no idea what he’s up to or how it’ll play out. I do suspect Skeleton Crew will somehow tie into all of this. Maybe the Skeleton Crew gets Ahsoka and company back to the main galaxy but get stranded themselves with Baylan?
I would also like it if Ahsoka and co. are stuck on the planet for a while, leaving the New Republic to hold off Thrawn without them. Then eventually Ahsoka will find a way back to turn the tide
Also, I really think this all needs to lead to explaining why Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, Jacen, Grogu, and the Mandalorians in general were seemingly absent from the galaxy during the sequel era. Sending Carson Teva with the Mandalorians (who still have a star destroyer, right?) into the other galaxy handles that. It also handles how bringing Thrawn back to the main galaxy to re-start the Empire between the fall of the Empire and the rise of the First order basically makes no sense.
Alex, you're selling yourself short there mate. Your Star Wars knowledge in their universe is the past, present and future history to them. You're the Grays Sports Almanac of Star Wars.
I believe the Father, Son and Daughter originated from Peridea, the Father imprisoned Abeloth there, making that galaxy almost inaccesible, and creating the Tesseract of Mortis we see in TCW in order to prevent his children to wreck havock in the land of the living.
I believe that Ahsoka episode 8 will end with the death of Baylan Skoll and then Shin Hati will join Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren & Ezra Bridger, but then they will be stuck on Peridea after Grand Admiral Thrawn & Morgan Elsbeth return to the main Star Wars Galaxy, that would let the characters of Skeleton Crew be the ones to save our heroes, also I think that Mark Hamill will make a cameo appearance as Luke Skywalker at the end of this season and come face with Grand Admiral Thrawn.
The New Republic and Imperial Remnant working together would be very much like "Truce at Bakura", I believe that was the now-Legends book where they worked together.
Interesting that you think/hope we'll see Baylan's story come to a point of closure while Thrawn's and Morgan's path continues into the next season or whatever - I think it'll be the opposite. I think we'll see mostly Thrawn and a return to the other galaxy in the finale, and the last scene wil lbe Baylan discovering what he's been looking for (probably he'll see it and we won't, it'll be off-camera) and probably being surprised by some aspect of it then fade to credits.
Baylan's story coming to a close is mainly because of real-life events: with no Ray Stevenson for a season 2, it would make sense that his characyer will perish in this season.
@@alfje5492Right, but since he passed so recently, that's not going to change what the rest of this season looks like. So I don't think we're going to see closure to his storyline tomorrow.
@@alfje5492thanks! I'll tell you what surprised me - that given the shot they gave us, I ...despite having been commenting all over YT and FB about how there's just no way they're going to do this... I think the chances went way up they're about to give us some version of Abeloth! Do you think they'll recast Baylan, or tell the story in some way that kills him off-camera but gives him a good send-off?
Maybe at the end of this thrawn will once again be forced into other circumstances and takes the imperial remnant into its own faction to deal with the grisk or another threat while the new republic continues its current course then has to deal with the first order. Could make it a way to keep the first order in a smaller sector of the galaxy and have thrawns empire be seperate? Very loose random idea but maybe it works?
Where in the timeline is the Battle of Jakku? Could this all be building to that Final Confrontation between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant over Jakku? You'd have Thrawn and the Nightsisters fighting the New Republic.
One thing I haven’t seen asked anywhere (or by anyone I’ve watched on UA-cam or the twittersphere) is WHY is Baylon the one that is getting called to? WHY him? What makes him special to hear this calling from another galaxy? Interesting question.
Q&A: How can Sabine access the force later in life with years of training but characters such as Chirrut Îmwe who spend their whole lives devoted to the force not be able to control it to that same extent?
My cousin and I were speculating about Baylan. He thinks it's an object or a place instead of Abeloth. Together we speculated that maybe it's an artifact left behind by the Rakata, Night Sisters or the Zeffo. Here are some of my other thoughts. I would like to see more of this other galaxy. If I were Thrawn I would have searched this galaxy for civilizations similar to the Empire or Chiss ascendancy, and form alliances. Gain technology and intel. Maybe Thrawn could learn from their military discipline and they could learn both of the Imperial and Chiss way from him. Maybe the cargo they were loading weren't just dead Night Sisters but also technology from this galaxy. That could explain how the First Order could track a ship through hyperspace and fire a super weapon across the main galaxy. Personally going back to seeing more if this galaxy, I think it would be great if they had more episodes in these shows. Make more room for interesting things to be included. And I'm used to showes that have more episodes than ten. I would like to see the exact details of Ezra separating from Thrawn and bending up to where he is now.
Here's my totally wrong, yet super hopeful prediction; Thrawn's return to the main SW galaxy sets up an animated show with the OT characters fighting Thrawn in "Star Wars: Heir of The Empire" , and Ahsoka et al, get stuck in the other galaxy for her show's next season/Mandoverse movie.

Loved Mollie's "I'm not counting on it" that's how im feeling, dont want to get my hopes up for a Ghost crew reunion
The Park and Rec clips in these every so often are so perfect. I love it
I agree with Molly, I don't think there will be a Rebels crew reunion yet, hopefully in Deason 2.
I believe Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine and Huyang will be stuck on Peridia, Thrawn and his fleet will make it back to "our" galaxy, and then have a space battle with the Home One, defeating the little fleet or even destroying it. (I only say that because I think there's a reason they showed the Home One earlier this season)
This would be a huge cliffhanger and shocking but great ending for a first season!
saw this on another channel but I think Baylan wants to destroy the WBW, which is the force dimension thingy that the Zeffos created.
Shin and sabine❤
Now I want a short (TOTJ?) with Huyang disguised as a different droid or a clone.
My thoughts on coming up with finale theories or predictions: "Perhaps, I don't have to."
Mollie's hair 💯
Q&A: What do you think Thrawn's opinions would be regarding Imperials like Dedra or Moff Gideon?
I mean it wouldn't be the first time she caused a war
@@corruptpixel8441execute?!!!
Dude … she enabled like a smart general to return.
Not Thanos
The rest of the pieces to the war will happen with or or without Thrawn - thety are already there with that Shadow council
Huyang was such a delightful surprise
Thanks for answering my question! Don’t want to get my hopes up but it would be cool to see the entire ghost crew together in love action 12:28
Best typo ever 😅
@@nicolasylb9474 lol whoops! Typo stays for the humor!
20:23 Huyang had those arms before, we see them while he is going through lightsaber component boxes on the crucible.
Loving these edits in the recent videos
Oh the giggles at the end. Too funny.
0:44 saw the notebook for the first time last night. it was soul-crushing and i’m still in emotional turmoil from it. great movie!
I think Baylan is looking for some sort of ancient Zeffo super weapon. The temple on Peridea even has a text praising Kujet on the front.
The “oops i got captured” from Morgan to Pelleon made me laugh out loud.
Lol scrolled by this comment just as he said that
@@parthlad8263 i really want to see that scene play out now lol
I don't wanna go with Abeloth force entity's and the like. I see Baylan as more of a Darth Traya ( KOTOR ) who may want to wound the force 4:40. I Wanna put my money there.
I think Baylan is Don Quixote. What he seeks is all in his head. Brilliant acting by the late & great Ray Stevenson. I've enjoyed Ahsoka ever so much! 👏👏👏
I actually LOLd at the "what do you want" clips
I like the idea that whatever Baylan does allows for the usual “barrier” between life and death to weaken or change, which is what makes it possible for Sidious to return, dark side adherents and the Acolytes of Beyond to rally and Exegol to become the gathering place for true believers, all to set up TROS.
I really don't think it's a good idea to construct a story in order to make up for the inadequacies of another, but maybe
This video thumbnail art is amazing 😂😂❤❤
Maybe Baylan will interact with The Whills in some way (the authors of fate in the SW universe). Baylan seems to be a stand-in for a certain kind of fan who wishes the sequels (or prequels, depending on your generation) didn't exist. He'll need to learn that you can't erase any part of the tapestry of the story of SW. That would be some justice for GL's intended sequels, too.
I don't know who I think has a worse fate trying to entertain Jabba, Alex or Mollie. At least for Alex, his death would be quick?
I love your Parks and Recs references 😂
4:38 He wants to unplug the force and plug it back in
QnA: 501st was with Anakin during order 66 (and all clone wars).
4:45 and I joked about him being kreia-esque... huh
4:41 So basically a Saga era Kreia...
I just realized Disney better not teased that Baylin thing to found out it was just Darth Sid himself.
I would also like it if Ahsoka and co. are stuck on the planet for a while, leaving the New Republic to hold off Thrawn without them. Then eventually Ahsoka will find a way back to turn the tide
The real treasure of Peridia was the bond with his apprentice Baylan made along the way.
These edits have been great lately! you should consider posting some of the quick parks & rec memes as reels or something
In the Rise of Skywalker we can hear Ahsoka's voice and Kanan's voice supporting Rey. Ezra is not there... Can it mean that he is still alive?
Dave Filoni did confirmed that Ahsoka is still alive during in the Sequel Trilogy era.
Love you guys that thumbnail made me cackle
Doesn't the world-between-worlds require you to exit exactly where you entered?
Baylan is like Elsa in Frozen 2. ~ Into the unknown ~
Eli Vanto and Ar’alani in Filoni’s movie would be everything to me
Alex getting really red there at the end.
The New Republic and Imperial Remnant working together would be very much like "Truce at Bakura", I believe that was the now-Legends book where they worked together.
5:09 Baylan: “I used the force to destroy the force. It nearly killed me. But the work is done and it always will be.”
That thumbnail is amazing! Well done yall!
@@davidalan528 You were right and I'm actually intrigued now to see where Baylan's story goes!
OMGGGG you and Alex dressed in your night sister get up !!! So cool ! Creative !!
Where in the timeline is the Battle of Jakku? Could this all be building to that Final Confrontation between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant over Jakku? You'd have Thrawn and the Nightsisters fighting the New Republic.
I hope Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka makes it out. Maybe have their ship "clinge" to Thrawn's ship.
One thing I haven’t seen asked anywhere (or by anyone I’ve watched on UA-cam or the twittersphere) is WHY is Baylon the one that is getting called to? WHY him? What makes him special to hear this calling from another galaxy? Interesting question.
I haven't seen all of Rebels. But could the sith holocron that Ezra had could be what is calling out to Baylon?
is the beginning of snoke, part of that cargo?
Q&A: How can Sabine access the force later in life with years of training but characters such as Chirrut Îmwe who spend their whole lives devoted to the force not be able to control it to that same extent?
Q&A: Are the Grysks are calling to Baylon?
I love the thumbnail! Y'all two should cosplay as Witches of Dathomir more often!
The finale is probably gonna be hopeful! *flashbacks to Bad Batch Season 2 finale*
Baylon may awake whatever Stranger Thing's™ effect the Skeleton Crew gang.
Hey Alex I loved that The Weekly Planet t-shirt lol
Jeez when Mollie said that she had to use her body to impress Jabba I don’t think I’ve ever seen Alex laugh like that
19:45 I propose they call themselves "Star Watsons"
Iconic thumbnail
Here's my totally wrong, yet super hopeful prediction; Thrawn's return to the main SW galaxy sets up an animated show with the OT characters fighting Thrawn in "Star Wars: Heir of The Empire" , and Ahsoka et al, get stuck in the other galaxy for her show's next season/Mandoverse movie.
I can’t see anyone connecting the “sometimes stories are just stories” comment to the Lone Wolf and Cub line, “Sometimes dreams are just dreams.”
I’m here for the shirt! Blue Harvest!! 😱
