- Musician and songwriter Long John Baldry who introduced both Elton John and Rod Stewart in his band talks about his musical influences. This excerpt was taken from the television program Conversation filmed in 1989. The interviewer was J.D. Gravenor. The show was directed and produced by John Richardson.
My love of the blues began with Long John Baldry. I saw him in concert in Vanvouver so many many times. He was great. ❤️
4:12 The way he said "participation!" reminded me of Robotnik! XD
nice accent RIP LONG JOHN BALDRY
I've never heard him speak before now. I know he's the guy that "saved Elton John's life that night" and convinced Elton to finally get a grip on his sexuality, I'm just glad he's a regular "Joe" and not some mincing queen... #respect... 👌👍
But does he hate blue hedgehogs?
Amazing how Baldry's greatest legacy is not in music but rather in voicing a bald headed, mustachioed fat evil scientist with a great distain for a blue speedy chili dog munching hedgehog on a wildly popular early 90s cartoon and internet meme.
Personally I think you should be remembered for both of those things and I know he would probably want to be remembered for his music anyway.
He was terrific at it. Nothing he should have been ashamed of.
PINGAS!

PINGAS
It’s funny that a blues legend also invented PINGAS.
