Gosh how wonderful! I've never seen this one. Wow Bob Hope and Bing Crosby!! You just don't get this today. All the great ones are gone. Thank goodness for UA-cam so we can see the magic of the past!
@@nehemiahmarcus308 Yes I'm aware of generational complaints. I still think people were more talented or maybe the talent was just more enjoyable. And cleaner.
@@personincognito3989 When I studied clowning and circus technique, everyone agreed that the clowns of the late 19th and early 20th century were on a much higher level of skill. If you watch the early silent films, the comedians were mire talented and acrobatic than comic actors of today. Maybe Jackie Chan comes close.
I don't think it was a copyright issue, I had heard at one time it was because Carol did not like the way she looked in those early episodes, with the short pixie hairdo and the giggly way she was in those early days. Then finally years later they released all the shows, including the musical numbers.
Are you kidding, a tv star compared to a movie legend, singing legend, radio legend, academy award winning actor with a career that spanned 50 years. Bing was semi retired and still maintained his Superstar Status. Carol was small time compared to Bing. Tell me apart from TV who really remembers Carol??? Did she have a movie career, singing career, Bing went on to sell out concerts in his 70s...plus was a hit on TV as well.
Here is some dirt on both of them....Bing was mean to his sons, and Bob always had to rely on his gagmen, which Johnny Carson hated because Johnny thrived on spontaneous conversation.
@@rtususian Can't speak for Bob, but what concerns Bing and the rumors about his first four sons, while the relationships were strained for a complicated variety of reasons, Bing being "mean" to them has by now been debunked as a lie.
Bing Crosby and Bob Hope both qualify as national treasures... As is Carol Burnett herself!!! And Harvey Korman was always a hoot!!!
Wow! It looks like Bing was surprised when Bob showed up! Some terrific ad libs. They both excelled at that.
I agree!!
Imagine if Jack Benny was there. Given Carol's admiration for him, it wouldn't be impossible.
Great to see Crosby laughing at Carol's antics!!
My god. And you can tell carol was so pleased to get these icons on her show. And the dialogue was great ....classic
Bing's last line was absolutely off the cuff.
Hahahahahahaha... 40 years later and I'm still howling!!! So much fun. Her shows NEVER get old...
Back when TV was great 😃
They sure had wonderful programs back then.
@@miyaiun4723 The sure did. Too many to mention
“Where were you at the time?” Great comeback! 😂😂😂
Bing was a razor
I'm so happy that I grew up before social media existed.
All media is social! Is your response sent in by mail?
Are you prepared for what's next?
Oh my! Brilliant classic ❤❤❤❤
"You didn't even fix it, you klutz". lol...that sounded like it was off the cuff
This is one of my favorite skits!!! Wow, Bing Crosby & Bob Hope!!! 😂😅

The camera with the flash bulb! ❤😊
Love this .Bing and Bob were legends!!😊😍👍
We need some more of this
The best TV shows were in the late '40s to the late '70s 👍👏😊❤️🇺🇸
I miss these shows! ❤❤❤
One word, legends
Amazing, sitting here watching TCM's Road to Singapore with Croaby & Hope. Then I run across this clip.🤣🤣🤣🤣
BIng looked genuinely surprised, and pleased, by Bob's appearance.
Such quick wits all of them!
Oh, how I miss this show 🤣
Just wonderful!
So awesome! I love this show!
What a wonderful skit!
Did Bing know about Hope being on the show? He looked surprised!
Bob Hope made a couple surprise appearances
Indeed, he didn't know!
What a classic piece 👏🏾 👌🏾
More talent in this one skit than in all of Hollywood today.
That was hilarious
My side is splitting from laughing so hard
😂😂😂
nice that they added the part at the end. Some "Road to..." banter.
That caricature of Bob Hope was some foreshadowing.
That was back when people actually were talented entertainers
We have plenty of tented entertainers in 2023. But in the 1940s, they said the same about the 1920s.

Couldn’t being better ! Wow my favorites!
When I was a kid they only showed Seasons 5-10 on TV due to some bizarre copyright issue. These older shows are classic!!!

Love the greats.
Okay, that was good.
Bing could think of one liners like Dean Martin and both had great timing
Holy shit dude, that's Bing Crosby!
Psst!
Who the fuck is Bing Crosby?
@@masterpieceoneday8321Only the biggest and possibly most influential superstar of them all.
Where were you at the time!
Classic 📺
Is there any prospect of Bing Crosby's collaboaration with Ella Fitzgerald on this show to be released? WE NEED THIS SO BADLY
Classical funniness.
More than talent in this one skit than in all of Hollywood today.
Did Bob Hope's picture change itself back?
Bing lasted until 1977
Bob lasted until 2003
😂😂❤
Crosby wore a great wig.
He called it his "scalp doily."
Must've been a sweeps month

Ok
By this time, Carol had eclipsed Bing in popularity.

I notice in the earlier episodes of Carol's show she would sometimes go completely out of character at the end of a sketch.
Never got into either of them.... only here for Carol.... and Vicki.
Here is some dirt on both of them....Bing was mean to his sons, and Bob always had to rely on his gagmen, which Johnny Carson hated because Johnny thrived on spontaneous conversation.

Trent Reznor and David Byrne.
Michael Jackson and Jim Jones
@@ksteiger Thanks!.. It's meant to be a joke, but... Well. Not worked out this time 😄Thanks anyway!
Too over the top which is why I never liked the program.
Bing. Carol anda Bob! fucking A man!
