As an instagram model this is 100% the hairy knuckle dragging two door Jeep I've been looking for
Ha!
Ive never been without words.... till now.
it’s incredible how far we’ve come in technology to park in the disabled spot at target, and hold up the drive through line with requests of beverages for a dog.
I fully support JLR’s dedication to vacuuming up all the stupid-money out there.
@DOGS LOL Jaguar Land Rover. This vehicles parent company

I kinda dig it in a "factory hot rod" sense...but it should be like 65k with that interior
I can't think of a vehicle in it's price range that I want less.
One of the few vehicles you wish your rich enough to buy, but glad you're not stupid enough to buy.
To the both of you. Thanks for being upfront and straight forward on your takes. No BS, no hidden agenda, this is what it is. This is why I keep coming back and I hope other newcomers do the same. As for the Land Rover - I've already forgotten about it.
The exhaust sound brings a tear to my eye.
Silverback Jack also seems to appreciate it!
My sister just said “there’s not enough room in that backseat for me and Jack’s arms.” Lolzzz
Jacks been working out and hitting the Cell-Tech!
Thanks for an honest review. Almost noone actually takes trucks/SUVs off road, so I guess it's commendable that they are making vehicles like this that are clearly made for mall crawling....the build quality on the other hand, lol
...have you seen a mall parking lot these days...with mall attendance down, there is no money for pavement maintenance and there are potholes and seriously rough pavement abound. Not all mall parking lots are smooth as melted butter. Plus, if you happen to pop a curb, at least you won't damage a bumper or even feel it as you totally miss the entrance/exit
It's a Land Rover, what do you expect when it comes to build quality? These are not designed to last more than 4-5 years.
@@grglyzen - Any of the modern LR models from the last 20 or so years are only suitable for use as 'temporary lifestyle accessories' that one leases.
why is it only the american models with these build quality issues, other markets seem absolutely fine
@@aadi8568 they're bad in every market, most reviewers simply don't mention negative attributes like that because they want to keep getting review samples.
I adore this thing...the power, the short wheelbase, the squared off design...it's just friggin awesome.
When it's just Jack in the car, can you please draw Mark's face on an Arby's wrapper and tape it to the passenger headrest? For balance.
Lolol
I had a ‘22 90 S. Best car I’ve ever owned but sold it for the market, and have a 130 on order that I’m gonna keep.
Looks like a high-end Geo Tracker -- for the person who wants people to think they can afford it, irrespective of whether they can.
Let’s be honest that’s the target market that the whole industry is built on lol.
- yes, a 'designer' version at 10x the cost but with 10% of the reliability of a Vitara/Tracker/Samurai
@DOGS LOL considering JLR's poor reliability, you'll probably be able to get one for dirt cheap 5-10 years down the line.
Imagine how much more it would rattle if it was used off-road.

It looks awesome and that’s about where the attraction ends. As jack said, you can get that drivetrain in the F Pace, an actual luxury vehicle, for a full digit less.
I don’t care how much it costs. I love it.
I can already see a fleet of these parked at Starbucks.
I like that my speech to text identifies this channel in announcements as “suh-vah-juh-jeez”.
Will it pass the curb test at the Arby's drive-thru ?
This thing ain't ever going near an Arbys. Starbucks. All day everyday. This thing will set the lap record at the Starbucks drivethru.

Those HVAC controls would look a little cheap in a $35k car. Stupidly small cargo space.

Love the look of shorter, 2 door SUVs, especially with RWD and a V8....
SAME, if only the blazer was more like this instead of a 4 cylinder mall crawler
This things makes no sense in todays SUV market where everything is getting bigger... And I fucking love it.
Regardless of this V8, the 90 is not made to haul a family, it's made for 1 or 2 passengers and a huge boot space.
More like a famous Instagram/tiktok couple and their camera equipment. Oh, and she/hers Gucci bag
the cargo capacity is awful though, even with the rear seats folded it's not particularly impressive.
i don't get these cars at all. you can't haul, it's not fast vs a sportscar for the same money, it looks stupid, no reliability, no off road...

damn that price tag though. What kind of markup will be on this you think?
These things are beasts and they are fooking awesome.
Pretty sure, in 10 years this thing will be sought after. Just like with many V8's these days that will be gone soon. Although expensive this defender is pretty unique having a short wheel base and a supercharged V8.
I agree. Plus it looks sexy as hell.
Maybe _...if it still runs_
It will be the most attractive money pit out there😂
It’s a Land Rover though, the reliability factor is probably not going to favor it in resale value
@@timothycc711 ?? it looks freaking stupid. like a defender that got washed too hot. the ONLY thing this has going for it, is the sound and that's it.

Other reviewers play it up like it is a veron.
Thanks for your honesty.
My wife’s high school boyfriend will really enjoy driving this.
You jealous he can afford this and you can't.....maybe she will leave you one day for someone who can afford a Land Rover
I’m in London and have the 90 in the Santorini black. Yes it’s a Chelsea tractor and yes the boot space is laughable.
We don’t have children and no need for a four door. I’ve had one rattle which was fixed by the main dealer and no issues over last year of ownership.
Absolutely love it (yep it’s overpriced) the utilitarian feel is just great IMO, it’s been perfect around town and equally a real mile muncher for long distance trips.
There isn’t any other car out there at the moment I would swap this completely mad Defender for.
I should add, I had Range Rover years ago and it spent more time in the garage than on the road. So this was a leap of faith, which so far, has worked out ok for build quality and reliability- does feel like a roll of the dice though.
What about the theft issues in London? Is this just as vulnerable as range rovers? Are they expensive to insure now?
6k miles and no issues, solid reliability.
...just think how the LR press fleet manager feels. he/she is probably elated each time one returns on its own power and not on the back of a flatbed. I'm curious who gets the press mules after they are done being mules. Talk about buying an unknown.
The 110/130 are basically the replacements for the LR4. This thing is just dumb.
I just got an ad for Patagonia in the middle of this video. I had to laugh.
I would agree the f pace svr is a great value looks great ,drives great & sounds scintillating
Looks awesome.
Great as always
I dunno I really really like the look of this SUV. I know that Land Rover isn't known for reliablity but damn the sound of that engine! I'm not one to get all high and mighty in interior appointments so this really appeals to me. Now if I could only win the lottery...
Damn that thing sounds good!
Great Video
Very in line with how I felt when I went to scope it at dealership. It is $70k nice, not $100k
My jaw literally dropped when he said the price.
The defender V8 is just as capable off road as any other defender you can option it with the 20" rims and off road tyres like any other defender.
Thanks Jack. Honest, informative and objective as always.👍
Amazing! Love it, one my way to 100,000 with this baby!!
Great video!
The whole fast SUV thing continues to bewilder me - I think yall got the "ig model" comparison down. I imagine these are driving all over Malibu and Sunset Blvd. That said, the base model Defender with no upgrades would be my first pick if I needed a 'farm truck' and lived in a rural area.
popular with some of the posh farmers here (in uk) haha
I think y’all miss the point of this vehicle. It’s for someone who wants a V8 in the Defender. They don’t want an f pace SVR or Sport SVR, they’ve already had 3 of those.
The LR4’s true successor c/w that fugly focus group designed LR5 POS. Love that V8 👌
The fact that it rattles might just be their vehicle but I wouldn't get a V8 in this day and age. I drove the First Edition 90 and was more than satisfied with this machine. No rattles or anything mechanically had gone wrong. It was Perfect!
I just don't have the funds to secure one right now due to the market.
Lucky it didnt break down during the test drive👍🏼
These are so cool and unnecessary, great time we live in so many interesting options in the market gas is here to stay. Great video, the audio is killer for the v8.
While the planet burns......so cool!
liked, commented and subscribed for the algorithm!
I randomly decided to build a defender on the site and saw the V8 option, didn't even know it was a thing until a couple of months ago.
This is very much a AMG G-Wagon competitor. The people who buy these vehicles will never go remotely near a dirt road, let alone go off road. But they do look cool, make you look adventurous, and signal wealth, which I think are the main reasons people buy them in the US.
Thought that was you, saw you filming B roll on my lunch break. Lol. (Red S14)
Savagegeese is the #1 UA-cam car reviewer in McHenry county.
Instagram models go with the g wagon or a range rover sv autobiography. I don't think the looks of this defender cuts it.
Not vulgar enough
That's just the guys. This will be marketed to women, like the Evoque is.
@@markmiller3279 - BINGO!

@@povertyspec9651 - those special LR badges cost serious money yah know... 👌LOL
Seeing that G63’s are going for 200k this is a bargain. But for the money I’d go for supercharged Rand Rover.
Inflated car prices dont reflect the actual worth of these vehicles. The G is also a real off road vehicle and highly desirable to all country club types
actually saw one driving down the road that wasn't broken/in the shop...it was a 110 4-door and probably not the V8. They had the side ladders and roof rack. and in true car fashion, it was white (of all colors). I'm pretty sure that black and white LR will be everywhere since those two colors make up 80% of dealer lots 😔 . The wheels were even white (looked like OG steelies)

Good stuff
Like the person that will buy a fancy handbag for about $5k, there will be buyers for this 90. The price to value perspective is insane.
I just traded my '21 Discovery P360. Interior rattles were getting bad and I wanted to get out while the price was still high. I think my experiment with JLR is over.
I feel as if the premise of this entire video is false. Land Rover sells the V8 with a no-cost-option 20” with Goodyear Wrangler tires. The 20” Duratrac also fits. In fact, Land Rover has a press photo of the D90 V8 jumping on Duratracs. It’s an SUV with a 2 speed transfer case and 2 locking differentials. Lucky8 LLC has a lovely company truck that might change your mind.
Yes was looking for this comment. Same goes for the alcantara complaint.
I was about to comment in your last video if you could get a Defender 2-door V8 to review. Wish granted!
I really like the look of the short wheelbase and two door look of the 90 compared to the 110 tho.
Honestly there's no competition for this car.
Hello Savagegeese. I greatly appreciate that you provide test results of the audio systems. Great audio is one of my key purchase factors. Would you please consider testing bluetooth phone quality? I have a 2018 F150 whose phone quality is terrible when I get to 70 MPH. Everyone on the other end complains they cannot hear me. By contrast, I have a 2016 Mercedes and people on the other end cannot tell I am even in the car.
Really was hoping Mark would be in the drive segment. The chemistry and giggles between you two would’ve been premium to say the least. Hope he recovers soon from passing that kidney stone
All V8s are "special". I'm pretty sure this Defender is not as much for the "utility" part of SUV. This is geared for someone who wants a V8, in a unique, and outstanding driving experience. Well done JLR.....now get busy making this thing reliable.
Such a beautiful clean vehicule. Love it. Great video as always guys.
I'm glad that there's at least one automaker that makes a two-door SUV. More points for the V8!

Great video, just stopped laughing at the final thoughts section, it's another G wagon, still very popular here in the UK.
V8s not that popular but those diesels are everywhere, especially among farmers haha
I hope you get to review the Ineos Grenadier one time.
I honestly miss the old Land Rover, when it was called Land Rover for a reason. Off-road vehicles, not suburban mall cruisers. I largely blame the Range Rover and it's massive success with introducing a luxury vehicle. Ironically I love the Range Rover but at the same time it took Land Rover's off-road image away. The new Discovery and new Defender look so much like it now.
Interesting for sure but I don't think Land Rover would ever end up on my radar. There is ALWAYS a better option when looking at Rovers. Sad but truth.
Like? The base is *relatively* affordable for what it is and it looks great. The Discovery doesn't have a two door variant and the EVOQUE is ugly with terrible visibility.
What are some of the better Rovers? In the USA I have never heard of a class of vehicles called Rovers.
Happy Monday champions

I love this channel, Jack and Mark are the absolute best
I have never been more disinterested in a vehicle before. Nice job JLR.
But great vid as always goose masters.
This gets my vote for funniest looking car of the year 🤣
Landrover made a fun SUV with big honking V8 in it - enjoy it guys!
Review is a little harsh, but I get that the v8 version with street tires and 6 figure price tag is polarizing. I have the 6 cylinder version and I think that it is the sweet spot. It has 400hp and is over $30-50k less on the price tag. Same car other than having 20 inch wheels and A/T tires with a higher ride height on coils. The mild hybrid 6 cylinder has really good torque and is surprisingly quick. My other cars are 911s and I bought this as a DD - it's a lot of fun. The short wheelbase and torquey motor make it feel surprisingly tossable and fun on the road, but still very capable on trails. It's just a fun car to drive with a ton of character, but I agree it's not worth the $105-120K that JLR is selling the v8 version. I love the interior for a $50-70k car, but not for a 6 figure SUV. That's where the argument falls apart.
Good content as usual. But the in-cabin camera exposures were too dark. Especially the passenger-side-pointing-to-driver camera shots. The windshield-pointing-to-driver was also too dark in some shots.
Yes, that's a recurring issue, but especially bad today. It's impossible to capture both the driver and interior and the passing scenery and have both properly exposed. If they shot the driver better, the scenery outside would be blown out and effectively disappear. Other channels don't shoot from this angle.
I like the 4 door version of the V8.
I feel like this is the perfect car for someone that wants a repo on their credit report.
Guys waiting for gt3 rs video .much love from Kerala, India
why does that look like a ford engine bay and ford interior...........wait........is this just the bronco sport?
@savagegeese
So, on a scale of Coronitas to Beer keg, how many whey protein shakes can you fit in the cargo area?
How good is the gas mileage from Woodfield Mall to the CrossFit Gym on Golf Rd?
AJ series V8 is very nice. Pretty reliable post 2012 builds fixed the main issue with timing chain. Great Low end torque
God Save The Queen!
