You just vent all you want!!! Thats what friends are for, to support you no matter what!!! I thank God you missed the tornadoes. Things will work out. ❤
Wow. Pissed doesn't even begin to describe how i would be at this point. You can not convince me that they didnt know the problems that truck had when you bought it and they didnt tell you. They would be begging me for the keys back after i got through with them i can promise you that, That is unbelieveable and unacceptable. Anyway, love the videos and i truly hope things start looking up for you. Keep your head up clutch, we are your friends and we are here for you.
Have had this kind of trouble in the past. Two suggestions for you! Completely replace the def unit, that will be more expensive than fixing your old truck. Suggestion #2 find someone to delete the worthless thing. Try to relax remember you need to live to fight again.
Can you take the truck back? I had the same problem with my 2016 KW. It had 500,000 miles on it too. Spent alot of money. The first thing I learned is don’t buy theses newer trucks that has closer to 500,000 miles on it that’s why these larger companies get rid of them. Good luck to you and hope your truck gets fixed soon and you can start making money.Be safe out there and good job on missing the tornado.
Good golly Miss Molly, what a kick in the ass, Clutch. One more failure and I'd be demanding a full buy-back from the dealer that sold it to you. That's beyond ridiculous!
It was too far. However, I laughed so hard. It was a good stress relief for you. Man, I feel your pain. I am a company driver, and my first truck kept me in the shop with so many little things. Thankfully, I'm in a nearly new truck now, and it doesn't give me too many problems. When it does, I know exactly what the problem is and can have the company just send a tow truck rather than have a shop come "try to jump me."
You may need to invest in a Weight reduction program for your truck to get reliability. Hate to say it as you already are bleeding money but might need to have the DEF/DPF removed and cleaned, and also check to be sure you don't have any injector issues that could be contributing to high nox outputs that keep triggering your MIL. As bad as the freight markets are now us O/Ops cannot allow ourselves to go under due to emissions!
Sorry about all the problems with the new truck! Hopefully this time you can get that issue resolved. You can vent all you want. And a big pox on all who criticize you. They aren't walking in your shoes so they don't know everything! Glad you were able to miss the tornadoes.
Just a suggestion I know a lot of problems of the newer trucks is the wiring harness they are sending computer signals which is in millivolts if wire gets the slightest corrosion, it send false signals just something to look at sorry for all your problems with the new truck
Just a suggestion but if ihad aftertreatment problems I would talk to Ryan at Fox Truck and Tractor in Canton OH. He has a utube channel "driving and fixing with Ryan". He's an expert in aftertreatment. I use him for all my mechanical needs. Its hard to find an honest guy how knows what they're talking about. Ryan is the guy. Also the OTR diagnostic unit will let you reset your codes to get you going for a bit.
My 2016 Freightliner has never regened on its own. I use an OTR tool to do forced regens and clear codes. It is an expensive tool, but has saved me from what you are going through. I do Maintenance all the time also.
I am so sorry you are going through all the breakdowns. You might want to have that DPF cleaned out or replace it. It might be the route cause of your issues. My friend has the DPF filter cleaned out every time he takes his truck in for PM. I will definitely pray for GOD to bless you and your family to get through this difficult time. Love both you and Rusty and hope things get better. Hang in there.
Damn. It kind of make you wonder why the price was so attractive on the truck. It also makes you wonder why the prior owner isn't driving it anymore. I hope that truck came with some sort of warranty. I just went through a tornado watch about an hour ago but still in a thunderstorm. Hoping all this rain washes the bird shit off my car. You and Rusty stay safe.
It depends if it was a fleet truck or private owner. Our fleet trucks are taken off the road and put up for sale at 500k. But I definitely believe this was a known issue with that truck. Shame on the dealership for not disclosing it.
Daimler bought out Freightliner, you'd think they'd brought over their Mercedes Benz Truck power trains to prop up their North American Truck Markets to Improve their Product Lines. I had a 2011 VOLVO VNL780 Powered with a D13 Volvo Diesel; NEVER Let me Down. 😎
I was hoping that after they did the update it would have fixed the issue. I just hope this place will find what is wrong and be able to fix it so you can continue to get loads and have money for the family.
The dealership needs to help out with this. Ridiculous. If you can find someone to allegedly delete it. More trouble than it’s worth. Buying the truck ,once it’s sorted, is going to make you more money, so no, not a mistake yet.
It will work out. But the after treatment really sucks when some thing is wrong with it but when they figure out you will be glad you got a newer truck. Good luck
Sorry you are going through this crap. Unfortunately, most mechanics in shops are parts changers only. No one wants to take the time to diagnose the issue. Hope they get the problem resolved this time.
Clutch I'm so sorry to hear your still having trouble with your truck I fully understand you being pissed about the situation The LOOK RUSTY HAD ON HIS FACE WAS HE WANTED ANOTHER BEGGING STRIP Y'ALL STAY SAFE I WILL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS THAT THEY FIX THE TRUCK ONCE AND FOR ALL
Been there done that with a company truck that was repaired from a previous driver… I was taking up squatters rights at the Volvo dealer in Des Moines.
Sorry your having these issues clutch… you have the right to vent your frustrations no worries there. It’s easy for folks to give their opinions from the outside looking in but you Clutch will make it your a great person love the positivity. We are all human none of us are perfect we just strive each day to be our best self. Sending prayers and many blessings 🫂🙏💙🙏🫂
I will always hit the thumbs up, atleast you had the will to keep going on through the tough times, wish i was half as tough as clutch, a clutch has to be tough to take all the pounding. Praying for you.
The joy of going from pre emissions to an emi$$ions truck. Read up on Pittsburgh Power Max Mileage, supposed to help reduce these episodes. I've been running it for a few months now and at first the system thew a bunch of little mini fits but seems to have stabilized and so far no issues.
Unfortunately you're not alone with this kind of truck issue clutch, so don't take it personally. You're doing great. It'll get itself figured out so hang in there. Stay strong!
I definitely know how your feeling. I'm sure you get all kinds of idea's but I did the same 2 years ago and traded trucks for the same reason. I broke down 4 times in 2 weeks and they kept saying they had it fixed. I got to thinking about a problem I had with a diesel pickup at home. I ended up replacing the fuel cap on my pickup and that fixed it. I thought what the hell so I replaced the cap DEF cap on my semi and behold I didn't have any more trouble which the service department said didn't make any sense. Just saying at that point I was willing to try anything. Probably wouldn't help you but it might be something to check. Keep your chin up !
I can’t believe someone doesn’t know how to build a smog system for diesel motors that works. So sorry for your problems clutch i went through the same thing on a Volvo so depressing hopefully you will get it right safe travels
Sorry to hear, you can vent all you want. A good deal is not always a good deal. I'm sorry for all your troubles. I know how you feel I would be getting drunk for all those troubles you are having. Your job alcohol isn't the answer. You are doing the next best thing just vent . We are here for you . Your luck will change soon for the better.
Man, I am sorry for the trouble you are going through. But hopefully, they will get it resolved. The sad thing is the inexperienced mechanics that don't think through the process. All the information is right in front of them that they are not using correctly. It could be bad communication with MCM, or the dozer injector is not properly injected enough to pass the ACA, making it off collaboration. Updating doesn't solve if the collaboration is off the peramidtors. Which could knock the NO2 sensor out. Hopefully, this would work for you, and it will be covered. Under your warranty and you should be back up and running any Jay Pro cover test this or D tech system
The dealership that sold the truck should be charged with a crime . Take the truck back make good for all your lost time and money period. This is a problem with all products Americans are buying it's capitalist greed corruption. I guess your not the only one venting today clutch trucker. Like you and Rusty I'll end on a positive have a most wonderful day !!!
That's sickening. I've talked to a few dealers when picking up parts and such and they say around 90% if the trucks in their ships are in for emission related problems. They need to get back to the old pre emission motors🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Sorry about your issues with your new truck, what was wrong with your other truck? Hopefully things with this new truck turns around and get you going with no issues. I drive a 2014 Freightliner no major problems with it other than putting a new engine in last year had to replace the ecm and now alls good and yes no def or any electrical problems like the newer trucks. Good luck with it all safe travels my friend
Sorry, I thought of something else. The OTR unit allows you to do forced regens. The passive regens aren't enough. I force a regen at least once a week. Oh, and I found that if I always keep the DEF tank full, never letting go below 5/8 if I can help it, gives me no SCR issues. I think the crust that DEF becomes when in the air messes up the in tank sensor.
Clutch, use the catalyst in the fuel. I had the same problems and solve the issues. It may take a little while, it’s always gonna keep doing it a catalyst to solve the problem
I hope you get that sorted out. When they were checking your problems out, did they check what percent of the exhaust filter was plugged after the Regen? They should have been able to get some indication whether or not it is being contaminated by a leaky turbo or valve seals letting oil into the combustion chambers causing excess carboning of the system. Bill P.S., they should be able to download past history and ferret out your problem. Sorry for your frustrations. There is a really good shop in the Dallas area that could fix that girl. Ill look up their no. for you.
Clutch as all new trucks around 500k the emissions are always the trouble makers thats why most companys drop them around that mileage......once you get everything going correctly it should work just fine
Sometimes it takes awhile to get the problems all worked out. I do not know the answer, I do not even know the right questions at this point. Perhaps a scanner so you could reset the codes?
Aaaa, yes, the infamous "MIL/CEL" light, or as mechanics call it: "The Money Light". Gotta "love" all those "EGR", "DPF", "SCR", "DOC" and "NAC" components!! 😠
Sorry about you having problems with the new truck I'm a Kenworth fan I can't say there better but it seems everything seems there's no quality control anymore
If it happens again, and you get downgraded disconnect the speed sensor, that is located by transmission this way you won’t have to call a tow truck. Good luck.
Have then check the intake manifold temp sensor and connector. This sensor will prevent your truck from going into regen. I found my connector corroded and the sensor was sooted up. Get you some Pittsburgh power max mileage to help clean up that emission system.
Oh, one more thing. "Warrenty" is code for, do just enough to get the truck out of the shop; hopefully it'll be somewhere else when it happens again. I had a shifting issue on my Pete. 2 years of warranty work, thousands lost because of shop time. After warranty, I go to Ryan. He fixes it for $1500 and I haven't had a problem since. Some shops get half pay for warranty work, and lots of dealer shop guys are ummmm wellll, not experts as much as they are parts changers.
Hey Clutch I had the same problem and they would regen me and said oh you’re good to go. This went on for 3 months. They would clear the codes and I would drive 100 miles or so and the same thing. It turned out to be the dpf filter. I said I need a new dpf filter it cost 7,500 to install a new dpf filter and no more problems.
The prices of used farm tractor are high because the farmers have to wait a few hours so the serviceman can fix the stupid computer board that the farmer would not have on the farm. The old John Deere they have less computer boards or none at all. The farmer does not have to wait for a computer tech. to drive a 100 + miles in order to fix the tractor. The farmer hoping the tech. has the right part if not back to losing more days in the fielded. Sorry about the problem and hope the company in Kansas can fix the problem that the York company screw up on. The other as well screw up saying that it fix. Hope you can get back on the road and pay some bills and no more problems. Stay safe.
I hate to hit the LIKE button for this. Clutch I wish I was a rich man. I would get you a brand new truck. Better yet I would pay you to stay home and enjoy your life. You deserve it .
Yeah, the one box will nickel and dime you. Then they will tell you, guess you need a whole new one box for 20 to 30k. Have them check wires to that sensor, when trucks sit for a period of time The mice will play and they love wires .
“Looks like you picked the wrong week to quit sniffin glue” 😂

Man this brother needs love, hit the thumbs up guys
He doesn't need love you need to cater pillar

Sorry for your problems. Got to love computers!!!!my son went thru this
Yes! Thank you!

Rapid city. SD. Freightliner shop. . You should ask 4 money back or. Credit. On other services. Since shop didn't fix it the first time correctly
Good golly Miss Molly, what a kick in the ass, Clutch. One more failure and I'd be demanding a full buy-back from the dealer that sold it to you. That's beyond ridiculous!

You were right about that truck saving you money on fuel.
That’s all. lol
Thank the EPA. Hopefully it works out. I have a buddy who went out 25k bc of that crap.
You may need to invest in a Weight reduction program for your truck to get reliability. Sorry about all the problems with the new truck! Hopefully this time you can get that issue resolved. You can vent all you want. And a big pox on all who criticize you. They aren't walking in your shoes so they don't know everything! Glad you were able to miss the tornadoes.
I guess you have to decide how many more times you wanna break down before you get another truck. Good luck cluck.

Great content, fun to watch, thanks for sharing your trucking journey: very creative! Hope you get truck issues fixed.

I really feel for you man. I hope things can turn around for you!!
I would get out of that Truck.Take it back and get another one.❤ It's going to Break you.❤
It already has. He just doesn’t know it yet. Hate to see this happen.
Don't blame you for been so upset that happened to me the same thing. Bought a new truck n was down for 3 weeks. Praying for u to get better.

Like your videos sorry for all your problems with new truck
Been there done that with a company truck that was repaired from a previous driver… I was taking up squatters rights at the Volvo dealer in Des Moines.
So it's not just one brand it's anything with the def fuel system that's criminal
True had a 2016 KW same problem
Sorry your having these issues clutch… you have the right to vent your frustrations no worries there. Clutch I’m not one to pile on so I hope all works out and things look brighter in a few days.
Good luck buddy
I will always hit the thumbs up, atleast you had the will to keep going on through the tough times, wish i was half as tough as clutch, a clutch has to be tough to take all the pounding. Praying for you.

So sorry to hear Clutch! Was hoping for good news and alot of miles run.
You need to vent and it is okay. It will all work out. Keep your head up and think positive energy.
I feel your pain and stress Sir. I have been there
Prayers your way
We ask: What can the choir do to help?
You ask: What choir?
We respond: The one you are preaching to!
I soy your have problems hope get straight out God bless you be careful out there
Unfortunately you're not alone with this kind of truck issue clutch, so don't take it personally. You're doing great. It'll get itself figured out so hang in there. Stay strong!
Well clutch..at least your dog is working good
Stay positive. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I would be soooooo pissed as well. Call the selling dealer and ask them how they will make this right for you. I feel your pain. That's bullshit.
now you know why it was for sale with 500k on it
I can’t believe someone doesn’t know how to build a smog system for diesel motors that works. So sorry for your problems clutch i went through the same thing on a Volvo so depressing hopefully you will get it right safe travels
couple of days late but you were just 10 miles from where i live but hope you got it fixed there in wichita
I feel for you, this has to be frustrating. You must be thinking buying a new truck was a mistake. I hope they finally fix it.
Does the State where you Purchased the Cascadia have Lemon Laws for Motor vehicles that include Commercial Vehicles?
Safe Travels "Clutch."
I feel your pain Clutch .. Hang on
My 3406 cat I love it.
If you aren't running a fuel treatment, then start. Klenz 5007 is awesome for keeping the dpf system clean and functioning properly.
God bless the glider trucks w old reliable engines!!!! Cat C15 FOREVER!!!!😂
Oh, no! We are so sorry!!!💯💯💯
Sorry about the situation clutch.. I'd be really p.od too unbelievable life is sometimes
Clutch, use the catalyst in the fuel. I had the same problems and solve the issues. It may take a little while, it’s always gonna keep doing it a catalyst to solve the problem
Hang in there they will get it figured out.
Thats why I spent the money rebuilding the 60Series.
Sorry bud!!!!! Shame on the mess!!
😂
It could always be worse.
My Wife and I have a 2023 (with payments) that is proving to be a problem child!
💀 what brand?
It should be just fine.
Just keep being that owner operator.making the big money..buy junk you get junk.
Sorry about you having problems with the new truck I'm a Kenworth fan I can't say there better but it seems everything seems there's no quality control anymore
He clutch I think you need to invest into a OTR diagnostic scanner it saved me couple times when I got derate I reset it and kept on rolling
Thanks
Hope you at least got some kind of warranty with the new truck
Got a good warranty
Sorry to hear this!!! It sounds like it is what the nox sensor is plugged into... This is a pain in the back side....this is the third time... 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍
If it happens again, and you get downgraded disconnect the speed sensor, that is located by transmission this way you won’t have to call a tow truck. Good luck.
So sorry Clutch. You may have to collect so of Rustys "comments", put them in a bag and deposit it on someones desk, ie the dealer.
Have then check the intake manifold temp sensor and connector. This sensor will prevent your truck from going into regen. I found my connector corroded and the sensor was sooted up. Get you some Pittsburgh power max mileage to help clean up that emission system.
Thanks
Oh, one more thing. "Warrenty" is code for, do just enough to get the truck out of the shop; hopefully it'll be somewhere else when it happens again.
I had a shifting issue on my Pete. 2 years of warranty work, thousands lost because of shop time. After warranty, I go to Ryan. He fixes it for $1500 and I haven't had a problem since. Some shops get half pay for warranty work, and lots of dealer shop guys are ummmm wellll, not experts as much as they are parts changers.
I think Freightliner has some LEMONS, and unfortunately you squeezed one of them!! lol
Appears so
The MIL has another function , it indicates your DDEC engine is running !
Thanks for the tip
thanks to the feds for all the clean air haha
You bet

This is def filter clogged maybe that happened to me before it’s painful 😣
You got a lemon 🍋
Could be
Yeah, the one box will nickel and dime you. Then they will tell you, guess you need a whole new one box for 20 to 30k. Have them check wires to that sensor, when trucks sit for a period of time The mice will play and they love wires .
