Crape Myrtles - Family Plot

Crape myrtles bloom in the heat of summer with large showy blooms. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond talks about the different kinds of crape myrtle along with their common insect pests and disease problems. Crape myrtles can be divided into several categories based on their size. The smallest grow to 8 inches, while the tallest can be over 30 feet tall. Selecting the correct size for your application is critical. Many people choose plants that are too large and then have to severely prune them to keep them under control.
