For anyone that might be checking in one year later, the Birkenstock Tokio Super Grip are their professional grade clogs, made for chefs & medical professionals. They have a back strap for secure fit … no way are these clogs going anywhere! Bonus: they are convertible, in that the strap can be moved to the top of the shoe if no strap is your preference. They have incredible grip and are made of the comfiest leather, adding breathability to a long shift! Birki also makes 2 versions of the PVC shoe that this chef is wearing, with a certified anti slip sole meant for slippery & greasy surfaces, with removable insoles, making the shoe fully washable to hose down if dealing with industrial waste. This version has the choice of a steel toe or not. (Necessary and even required in some pro settings). So, while the shoes in the video are a solid choice for many, (I have them with removable shearling and cork insoles) my recommendation is to check out the others as well. I love ‘em all! Btw, the shoes w/ removable insoles (washable) and steel toe (or not) are still priced as mentioned in this very thorough video… under $100. 🎉 Picked up a pair of the PVC with non slip soles and steel toe for $60 on clearance on their website in December, and just picked up a similar pair with shearling in a bright color on clearance today. Their website has a “Last Chance” section where you’ll see a constant rotation of new clearance items (all are current & classic models). The Tokio Super Grip in leather don’t get marked down, however, as every physician on the planet wears them & tons of chefs, too… I’m neither, yet I have them in both colors as they’re my fav Birkis…Basically because they’re the classic Boston model with a back strap. Love that feature. And at $155 (the price never increases) I feel they’re a bargain… they’ll last longer than you will! Oh, and they make the leather Tokio in shearling, too! Who, me? Obsessed? Nah. 😉
i had 2 pair of Birkenstock clogs in the past, both cracked horizontally on the outer sole because I did a lot of kneeling and other active movements in the kitchen. Both didnt last a year.
I can’t wear shoes without laces.I’m a catering chef.Packing, prep, pulling trailers and walking through everything from farm land to arena shows.I can’t find anything that last more then six months and those right there would fall right off my feet.
I'm not a chef and just wear them as street wear. They're great. I'm normally I size 12 but read somewhere to size down as they stretch. When I got them I felt some pinching point on my right foot at times but sure enough they stretched and fit perfect now.

Can you do a slip test on wet floor? Those treads don't look non slip?
Size down?
You must have narrow/normal feet. I have wide so I bought SuperBirkis. Their problem is the tread is poor for outdoor use in tropical rains.
A630 or A640’s ? Also, did they make your feet sweat with extended wear?
Did you find they run your same size as US size? Or did you have to go down a size?

I seen size down 2, got for streetwear too ! If it come down to it I’ll switch insoles or take out 🙂
how many sizes did you go down?
I hope it's not a meat cutting board where these shoes sit
Nice video ❤
buy true size ?
Great Video 👍🏻
Are they non slips ?? I’m a barista at Starbucks
Yes
I just ordered some profi birki clogs. Whats the break in period like?
How do you clean the footbed?
dishwasher hose bro..
here in germany you can buy replacement pads for 15 bucks. if theyre really that good, thats definitively worth it.
Yeah, if they have your size lol. 15w is a pita.
For the wide feet in not comfortable to wear😢
These must be the A630? I wish they had a more feminine look.
