I'm in the market for kitchen shoes again. In the last two years I've gone through three pairs going into my fourth pair now. I work in a BBQ restaurant as a kitchen expo/meat cutter and the tallow just wrecks havoc on my shoes, especially when glue is involved.
I've had two pairs of Sketchers and a pair of Snibbs and they didn't hold up at all. The Sketchers just started coming apart at the sole because the glue didn't hold up and the Snibbs, bless their soul, held up but the material just absorbed all the meat juices flying everywhere.
The nonslip has never been an issue. It's the quality of the build and the clean up. The amount of caked on meat at the bottom of my shoe every night is disgusting and I'm hoping anyone here that has worked in similar work environments can share how your Mise are holding up.

I have had these shoes for a few months now. I love them and have no complaints. Get many compliments on them too. I'll definitely be buying another pair again

As a barista, I love these. I had to size up quite a bit. Usually wear US 12 in shoes such as vans. Finally settled on 47 in the standard model.
Totally makes sense - if they ever come out with a white pair those would be sick as a barista!

Have had these for a few months in my internet tabs! Wasn't really sure they were any good, now that I see you review them, I will definitely be buying them! My current shoes are worn and my feet are killing after so many long shifts this week 😢.

Oooh I like the design because I can wear these and people don't know it's for the kitchen. I had to travel from work and forgot to change my shoes, my current cogs were uncomfortable for flights. These also looks nice when I have to demo food for clients.

The Mise shoes look so interesting! The extra pair of insoles is a really fascinating and good idea, didn't know about the foam expansion, I can understand how mine looks like an imprint of my foot! Lol!
Working larger corporate account now! A lot of large dinners, brunches, buffets, etc every day! Super excited for these since I’ve had shoes fall apart, not fit right, not slip resistant enough etc. Thank you for the recommendation!

I really like the aesthetics this shoe offers. Though the red doesn't show when they're worn, it's a nice touch. This video was helpful in covering its features, especially for those of us who don't buy cooking shoes often/at all.

Hey! I'm so glad that companies like MISE exist! they seem to get it right. I've had trouble with my work shoes forever, from the comfort to taking care of them. I threw my last pair away bc of hygiene issues, a shoe with a washable insole is the ultimate tool! I'm watching from Paris and working as a commis de cuisine at Le Bristol Paris.

11:19 from Hawaii. Just got my Mise shoes and will be wearing them to work for the first time at Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa tomorrow. I am looking forward to a comfortable shift!
I used to wear steeltoe Redbacks (like a better Blundstone imo), and just moved to Birkenstock clogs for the increased airflow. Switching shoes to let them rest is a good tip, though. I got it from a healthcare friend and switch after prep, just before service.
that mid day switch is real tbh I just change insoles but im gonna get these i think and ig still just change insoles lol

Justin, I just got these shoes a couple days ago and used them on a 13 hour day. I was on a cement floor with spilled liquids and dropped food. I experimented with how slip proof these shoes were and I found they gripped well. Plus, they were super comfortable during that long day! Hey Justin! from the UK and I'm in my second year of culinary school right now. I've been staging all over the place but I've settled in working at an NYC inspired restaurant called BRIX to help pay for living right now, once I finish culinary school I'm gonna try push to get into some of the places that really inspire me. Theres a place called Fallow that I'd love to work at. Seeing this, having the MISE footwear would be game-changing for me. I'm still using the shoes my culinary school provided for me cause money's a little tight right now, but only recently I realised how much of a problem they are. It's been pretty agonising pain when I'm working every day in them, they arent even clogs, theyre super super hard, steel capped boots and I almost just thought the pain was something that you get used to. This is literally everything that I have been looking for in a culinary shoe! I exercise and do martial arts almost every day, having a pair of these would definitely ease a lot of my discomfort, not to mention I hate walking around in my work crocs when they are still caked in grime! This is coming from Saint Paul Minnesota!

I’ve just got my culinary degree, and I’ve started up my own micro bakery business which is all sourdough methods bake goods that take a long time to produce. I’m always tired from the kitchen shoes it’s not comfy for long hours standing at all, and it is hard to clean the inside of them. So, I’m excited to try the Mise pairs because it looks like it has a very comfy pad for long hours of standing and it is easy to clean
