    I fully support putting a spare change of clothes in your carryon!
    Learned this the hard way. One cruise, our luggage was very late arriving. We had dinner and went to the show in the outfits we’d been wearing all day. I was called up on stage by the magician (probably because I was trying to be unnoticed) and was up on stage as his “assistant” in the wrinkled, sweaty outfit I’d been wearing since dawn🤦‍♀️. Trust me…Bring a change of clothes!

    I usually wear a swimsuit and fishing shirt from the hotel. Yes I’m ready to chill with a drink in hand. I use a garment bag to pack a few nice outfits and dress for the significant other incase luggage comes later. You can drop it in the room. Then get a drink and muster check in. Now we’re free to party.

    just to let you know, my husband and I are on the enchanted princess right now, it’s a 14 day cruise. We just found your hidden spot plus I think it’s a picture of the candy lady. I’m not sure if there was another one. I can’t climb up the steps because of my hip. But I’ll show you. I took pictures, but I don’t know if I can get it on here, but thank you. We love watching your videos.❤🎉🛳️🦩⚓️😘🙏🏼💦

    Great tips! One more to consider is to unpack your suitcases the first day/evening so you’re all set for your voyage and aren’t tripping over luggage in your cabin!

    All great embarkation day tips Jill and Jerry! Hello to wee Bruno: We do most all of them too, except the spa. Love having a relaxed dining room lunch! No buffet chaos! Enjoy your Alaska/Cunard cruise. We're loving our vacay in St John's and the surrounding countryside! The Rock-Rocks!

    Like to get to the cruise port early. That's what we like to do. Yes, I like to drop off most things. Just bring on a carry on bag. Had a drink package included once. Not a big drinker. Like to eat. Like to have iced tea. Sometimes lemonade. Not really a pool person. Do like to watch the safety video then check in at muster station. Sometimes could drop off stuff in the stateroom. Sometimes not. Yes, that's what I like to do also. Find the dining table. "What, this is a table for a man like me?" Love to explore the ship. Find out where everything is. That's what my wife liked to do too. Don't usually use the spa. Like to check out the gym, find out when it opens, when it closes, what they have at the gym. Always bring an extra outfit in my carryon. Collard shirt with long sleeves. Air conditioners may make dining room cold. Watching the show in the theater is good. Also, in the afternoon like to check out the casino. Like to set up specialty dining before I cruise. Sometimes even go that first night. One cruise you didn't see your stateroom steward until well into your cruise.

      Since we have been vlogging we have found a few times we are so busy on embarkation day that we have missed meeting our cabin steward. In that case we will leave a note if we require assistance.

    Great tips ❤ How does it work if you are a solo diner. Will they seat you at a communal table or just by yourself. I am with you a feather pillow is a must for me

    • @CruisingCanucks

      We have spoken with solo travellers that have reported that the cruise lines do a good job at seating them at a table with other solo passengers.

    When are you going on queen mary 2?

  • @ronancostello2182
    @ronancostello2182 Місяць тому +1

    Hi Jill and Jerry, this is probably a really stupid question but we have never been on a cruise before. We are going on our first one in October in the Mediterranean with MSC. Are towels provided at the pools and hot tubs and are there changing / dressing rooms available also.
    Thanks Ronan.

    • @CruisingCanucks
      @CruisingCanucks  Місяць тому

      On MSC there will be pool towels in your cabin that are brown, unlike the white towels for your bathroom.
      Once you use them just leave them on your bathroom floor and your cabin steward will exchange them nightly.
      There are not change rooms on the pool deck. Just wear your swim suit from your cabin. We always have some sort of cover up.
      Have a fantastic cruise and don’t hesitate to ask any other questions that you may have.🛳

      Great tips. Will have to pay attention to #7 have never checked out dining table but TBH have never really been fussed about seating plans. Last two cruises we had opened dining so only on RC were we sat at same table. Open dining seems to work differently on different cruise lines so I am not sure about it yet. Can always get late dining but hard to get earlier times. The ap for booking never seems to work. Maybe be it is getting better??
      5:30 is just too early however

      Having a drink right away is a great way to immediately chill out and begin the vacation. My sister got me started doing this and it works. Non drinkers should go directly to the pool and have a raspberry lime Rickey, non alcoholic but sooo refreshing.
