I was born in 1976. My sister is 14 years older than me. My earliest memories of life is this song and watching her dance with her friends before going out on a Saturday night. I am 45 years old today and my 8 yr old and 6 yr old sons are learning how to dance to this with my sister 💗💗💗 no song like this exists. Childhood in New York 💛

I live for DISCO !!! I wish , I wish I could go back to my time back in the 70”s and 80”s . Music was clean, pure and lots of beautiful talented people. I’m 59 , but damn I’m a healthy 59 and I don’t care what the non-believers think, I got old school music blasting out of my expedition all the time, just beautiful wonderful disco music, you name it m I got it . Over 3000 disco hits , I was very happy in those times, just cruising with my friends in my 79 Camaro berlinetta , going to the gallery and trying to sneak in on studio 54 , and than afterwards to White Castle around 4 in the morning, eating belly bombers , good music, good friends and so so food, but we had fun and nobody was looking for trouble
I was 19 years old driving a beautiful 1976 White Low Rider Grand Prix, blasting "Disco Music" with the windows down, feeling so Happy! Carefree! I could easily go back to those decent times, had so much fun.

This was a wonderful era for the Baby Boomers. We met our friends every Friday and Saturday night and we had our dance partners. Dancing 5 songs in a row was no big deal, did not even get tired. The girls wore beautiful dresses w/high heels and the guys wore suits.
Beautiful melodic disco concept album by one of the euro disco kings of the late '70s.Born in Egypt by a greek mother (his father was armenian) Alec R. Costandinos here signs his masterpiece of his whole career! It was a huge hit in New York and topped the Billboard Disco charts back in 1978! I feel lucky to have this perfect work of art in vinyl.
One of the best dance songs of All time. I'll never forget going to Enchanted Gardens and walking up the driveway to this Mansion . The whole driveway was vibrating to this song. When we walked in everyone was on the floor doing the hustle. It was magical to say the least. The good ol days.
I am surprised no one has mentioned how Alec actually took the prologue...word for word from Shakespeare's play. Masterful integration with musical arrangements that captures the tension in the story along with harmonious blending of eternal love with orchestral precision
I love everything about this album. The lyrics and the music. I was 29 when I first heard it. I still have the original album. The orchestra is magnificent. Best Disco music ever. I still listen to the album Romeo and Juliet by Alec R Costandinos on a regular basis. The long playing songs made the hustle dance popular in New York City and Long Island.
The best time to grow up,I was in junior highs, remember going to starship, infornal, love this time in my life, thank you for the wonderful memories. Peace .Sergio NYC ✌️✌️ 🌻 🌻
Incredible Masterpiece, danceable , truly beautiful and it actually teaches you the story of Romeo and Juliet , Feels like a Broadway production , truly fantastic and my favorite of the disco era
That is me too. I am 72. When they ask me why do you look so young and happy. I know. Dancing disco 10 years. San Juan Puerto Rico. Best fashion. Sophisticated. Best songs. My drug of choice art. Dance. Music. 😊 so grateful. Indescribable bliss.
I danced this on my sweet 15 party.......a very Cuban coming out celebration. ...1978...oh how the years have flown......but it takes me right back to that moment in time
I agree with you Deisy! I'm also Cuban American from Tampa, Florida, I grew up with that music, I'm now 59 years old and I still love that music, I've still kept most of my vinyl records from back of those days.God how I miss those days, I won advance contest dancing to this song ,doing the hustle! There's is no other sound like this kind of music, the beat, the arrangements, wow! God Bless , from the Cuban Disco Kid!
Francisco Echevarria I'm Cuban American as well. This type of disco music was the greatest of all. Cerrone, From East to West, Villager just to name a few. The people came to dance, well dressed, the lights, the increfibke chills of this music. One had to be there to understand just like you did. So glad those few years that disco lasted the will always be with us. Those glorious nights dancing to the closing. Great luck to you.
I was 19... won my first of many trophies dancing to this song... many memories of the disco era and dancing... so much energy... so much love for the music and the dance...
To know that we lived thru the best era 70's and 80' will never be understood by todays youth the music the dressing up to go to the club while watching dance fever the friendships that developed, that feeling when your favorite song was played and hitting the dance floor with your favorite dance partner and putting on your show that is something we the baby boomers will understand. Long live DISCO
Oh..so very true! Today's nightlife is not even a shadow of what we lived!!! We are very lucky to have lived it .....You had to to have experienced it to understand its magnificence!
bejuco54 these kuds don't have a clue. To eat dinner at 5pm, thrn take a nap till 9 or 10. Then start getting ready. To go shopping on Thursday for the right outfits for the weekend. To have your platforms on and the Chinese flats in your bag. Those were the days
Memories! I had a chili powder red '78 Camaro 🚘 and my sister and I would go disco dancing 👡💃 Fridays and Saturdays. We would meet our dance partners and dance all night long at Houston's: Genesis Disco, Honeycomb Disco, Whynot Disco, Lord Jim's Disco, Rialto Disco, etc......
AGREED! I noticed in some comments. other 70's Disco pioneers were mentioned. which credit is due to them as well. HOWEVER this arrangement. stands alone on the highest level of phrase.. just in the transitions that each tell a story. the other artist focused more on the sound & electronics which was the birth & DNA of what we now call EDM. Georgio gave us Donna Summer..he stands in a pillar all by him self with that achievement... this is underground disco at its best..not that Guido saturday night fever music. that was so over rated when the movie came out...music like this is what we really danced to in the clubs of the bronx...
Well my friend I'm in my 60s now. And back when I was 17 that song was a diamond for me... just magnificent... I don't see that quality of work around anymore 😕 😐 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Every time I hear this song it brings me back to a time where all I worried about was having enough money to go to the disco and dancing ! I was a young 16 year old boy when I heard this song and couldn't wait for teen night every Sunday night at the Galaxy Disco !
TheTigers62 It's funny because it's true. I was 18. lived in N.Y.C. All I worried about was to have enough money for a few screw drivers (cocktails) and my dad not finding out I was gay. This was the music to dance to. Good times. All in all... There was no resound for me to worry.
Edwin Rivera But the BEST thing about this music was that you didn't have to be gay to really enjoy it cuz I had so many chicks in the mens-room at the club giving me head at the rhythm of this tune. LOL... awesome fukken babes too! OMFG! Talk about some great times in NYC clubs. WOAHHH!
The best music ever, there will never be music like this in a lifetime... "The Disco Era" I will never forget. I was a Dancer back in those days. love the hustle how I wish that music never end at least in my heart it will live forever...thank you for that note I was reminiscing in my mind how Beautiful life use to be with that type of music. Life is music....
Its so sad how the Rock & Roll music stations played a big part of destroying Disco..but there plan back fired it died and can back as vocal soulful Disco, rap, and now Hip Hop..and Hip Hop is now a billion dollar industry..the rock stations tried top stop it..then MTV & Micheal Jackson was born..God Bless MTV..
I am happy to read that so many people feel the same way about this song as I. I first heard this when it came out. I was just thirteen and have loved it ever since. Back then, I bought this record and played it so much that my family grew sick of it. When youtube was in its infancy, I searched this song all the time. I was and am very happy that it was finally added. Thank you!
Carmen that's because there will never be a song of type caliber again. I've been playing music since the age of 14 and when I listen to this song I'm in awe of the arrangements and I try to explain this fact to today's so called DJs but they have no concept or clue of what I'm talking about.
What can you say...this song is euphoric ta me!!!! Hearing this from into my ears n into my soul!!!! Amazing!!!!....SOUTHBROOKLYN....OH WHERE DID THY GO!!!! YANO!!!!! BE GOOD!!!
I'm getting the chills as I haven't heard this song in too many years to remember but I do remember hustling to this back in late 70's. My my, the memories are flooding back. I agree there was darn good production with some of these Disco songs.
Another master piece by alec and cerrone, I heard it when I was a kid 9 years old didn't appreciate it till now , one of the greatest disco songs of all time love it !!!!!!
Love this track. can any one see some of today's DJs play this at least one time a day.? the listeners would forget their stressful day and begin to live a bit better after listening to this beautiful peace. Maybe even start dreaming of the good old times dancing like I did .... listened and lost track of time like when I partied with my girl... what a moving piece. Thanks Alex C. for all your intelligent, hard work. You knew that this would live for ever... Best Regards...
It was around the time I was born but I remember my mom's aunt's uncle's dancing to this at parties what glorious days I'll never change my child hood 79 Baby 43 years young
Those times are not and never be gone always in our hearts and mind that will live on forever..At least we’re get to here and remember where we were when songs like this played and puts a GREAT BIG smile on our faces..Disco lives eternity.!!!!!
BUT..NEVER FORGOTTEN WHILE WE ARE STILL BREATHING!!! THERE IS NO STOPPING THE MUSIC OF THE 70's & the 80's. Close your eyes while listening to this & all the disco music & it will take you back!!!!!
The Limelight in Hollywood Florida dancing til the wee hours of the morning in my three piece suit with my hair down to my shoulders and wearing platform shoes.Beautiful ladies wanting to dance with me. This tune takes me there every time I hear it.Take me there please!!!
I have just turned 80,& my daughter found this , and I came alive again and couldn’t. Wait to get my body moving,, We used to dance all night, and never got tired,,!,
Love this song. I'm a product of the disco era, this song was not around when we were kids, but I discovered it some years later to my delight. I have the CD, I put it on and take long drive...preferably to Las Vegas. Beautiful driving song.
These songs just take me back !! I Had so much fun! Worked, went out on weekends not a single worry in the world, just being young and having the best time of my life, wearing the largest fashions 💕❤️
Oh the many afternoons of apartment hopping to practice various hustle dance routines... All for that magical moment when you traveled to a disco and put your best foot forward. So much love and appreciation for the music and the dance. A true renaissance in oh so many ways...

This is one of my favorite song of all times. I too grew up with older cousins in the 70's and remember listening to this song for the very first time and loving it. ... I still remember my cousins dancing to it before they left to the disco club. Great summer listening to this song then and now. I have the CD and still play it inside my car which always brings a smile to my face.
Boy what can I say except brings back many fond memories of back in the day, I know one thing this song was one great workout song to dance to, someone once told me that the greatest music in the world has already been recorded, why do you think they use old melody's that we remember when they where new for commercials today! take a notice of the commercials and their JINGLE'S if you want to call them that, but we remember them as melody's of our past, May Disco live on in our hearts for ever. Live long the 1970s
When i listen to this masterpiece a man with 2 left feet is transformed to a disco king on the dance floor.. It takes me to another dimension.. And when the alarm clock rang i was late to work..
❤❤❤❤ This song my cousin actually gave me this record to take home 🏡 Disco was a big part of my childhood and also rap country etc. But Disco will always be Disco and whom ever said Disco wasn't good has never heard this song 3/18/23
This came out when I was 13 years old and it sold out EVERYWHERE. It is legendary. There were a handful of producers who made disco with real musicians - orchestras, horn and violin sections, etc instead of just synthesizers. Mostly European producers. Alec R. Costandinos and Cerrone were two of the best. Thank you for uploading, I haven't heard this in years!
Are you literally serious "most" were "European"? Most were black Americans. The orchestral disco sound started in the United States of America, mostly on the east coast. Look up T.S.O.P., Gamble and Huff, Thom Bell and Freddie Perren, and start with those. European producers ripped black American producers off. This sound started in AMERICA. AMERICAN SOUND, BABY!
Disco was black, Latino, and white American and in that order. All American races jamming together, gay and straight jamming together, and by the time Europe caught up, it was damned near over. Disco is from the U.S.A.: a uniquely American invention, just like rock and roll.
If you want to claim European producers started anything, then talk about Malcolm McLaren's and Kraftwerk's contribution to hip-hop. That, you can claim. The rest, especially orchestral disco... no way.
HIp-Hop was already on the radio and pumping when Malcolm McLaren and Kraftwerk were making records. "Buffalo Gals" used DJ's from Brooklyn, N.Y. Just Allah (Super Star) & Cee Divine (The Master Mind) from the Five Percent Nation. They (MM & KW) did contribute by way of DJ's playing their songs but they did not start Hip-Hop! Malcolm McLaren was a manager and promoter for years on the punk rock scene before he heard about "hip-hop." Hip Hop is totally a inner city New York movement which spread worldwide!
Now this really is a living, breathing Work Of Art... a Genius disco track, with Don Ray / Marc Cerrone trademarks throughout.... Oh the strings, the strings!! The words "Classic" or "Masterpiece" are widely overused when music is analysed, but they apply here alright! The inspiration required to write and produce a track like this cannot be taught. Great Stuff!
Will never forget the 70's when I hustle the night away and got beat down from my mom when I home in the morning from the disco....Every weekend was bad at it high as a kite....I'll always love my mama remember that song..RIP MAMA
I absolutely love this song! Always lifts my spirits and wish I could have been old enough to dance at the clubs to it but I was 10 when this came out lol.

One of the best dance songs of All time. I'll never forget going to Enchanted Gardens and walking up the driveway to this Mansion . The whole driveway was vibrating to this song. When we walked in everyone was on the floor doing the hustle. It was magical to say the least. The good ol days.
Won my first trophy dancing to this omg what memories
Omg the good ole days where music was actually music

ROMEO & JULIET!
AT 65 I STILL HAVE
THE MOVES!!
72 and I have them too!
I am a proud 60 and still remember dancing my ass off to this in all the NYC clubs!
Me too I just carry an inhaler and plenty of Icey hot !
Let’s go 💃 🕺 dancing!
I am surprised no one has mentioned how Alec actually took the prologue...word for word from Shakespeare's play. Masterful integration with musical arrangements that captures the tension in the story along with harmonious blending of eternal love with orchestral precision
Amazing analysis and take on this…love it
Well said
Alec Constandino genius.
Best song. I did notice that and brought the 12" to my AP English teacher to show him.
Re: prologue. You hit it on the nose. Plus you're getting a great story in just about three full acts
Danced it to the end. When people asked why do you look so great. Never gain weight. Dancing dancing. The joy was indescribable.
The dance floor was our gym and in high heels!
❤
I love everything about this album. The lyrics and the music. I was 29 when I first heard it. I still have the original album. The orchestra is magnificent. Best Disco music ever. I still listen to the album Romeo and Juliet by Alec R Costandinos on a regular basis. The long playing songs made the hustle dance popular in New York City and Long Island.
I won my first hustle dance contest to this gem on Long Island.
Days of Gold!
The best time to grow up,I was in junior highs, remember going to starship, infornal, love this time in my life, thank you for the wonderful memories. Peace .Sergio NYC ✌️✌️ 🌻 🌻
Incredible Masterpiece, danceable , truly beautiful and it actually teaches you the story of Romeo and Juliet , Feels like a Broadway production , truly fantastic and my favorite of the disco era
iim agree with You, 👍 congratulations😁👍😁👍sincerly yours kicks
Heavenly.... ahhhhh ahhhhh
Actually went to the Disco called Romeo and Juliet..86st Bensonhurst Brooklyn ❤
That is me too. I am 72. When they ask me why do you look so young and happy. I know. Dancing disco 10 years. San Juan Puerto Rico. Best fashion. Sophisticated. Best songs. My drug of choice art. Dance. Music. 😊 so grateful. Indescribable bliss.
DISCO IS LIFE. Without DISCO, I would never have survived the apocalyptic NEWYORKCITY of the 1970s!!!!!!!!
You said it . heat wave..Son of Sam.. blackout....fucking looters!!!
I danced this on my sweet 15 party.......a very Cuban coming out celebration. ...1978...oh how the years have flown......but it takes me right back to that moment in time
Unforget !
I remember this music in Miami celebrating noche Buena
Cuban style 😀
👍To my CUBAN PEEPS!
I was 19... won my first of many trophies dancing to this song... many memories of the disco era and dancing... so much energy... so much love for the music and the dance...
Gord Merritt I won three hustle contest with this song in.Club faces and starship
If you won trophies, then you certainly remember all the spins and the dips. Gosh how I miss those days
The disco era was a big part of my life. I could never master the hustle, especially after a few cocktails! Loved

2024.... The best of 1970's songs, ever made!!!
WOW! NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO THIS MASTERPIECE.
I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW LUCKY I WAS TO HAVE LIVED
IN THE 70S TO DANCE TO THIS MUSIC!
I used this song for a disco dancing contest long ago. What wonderful memories listening to it again.
Those were the days
totally, so much passion and love. So many memories...
Yes the guys dressed up back then, not like today, they sag their pants and have their back and hangs out
At the age of 47 this is my first time hearing this song and agree with everyone that it is an absolute beauty of the era. It is the full package.
likewise at the age of 52!!! :D
Well my friend I'm in my 60s now. And back when I was 17 that song was a diamond for me... just magnificent... I don't see that quality of work around anymore 😕 😐 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Y'all make me feel ancient. I'll turn 77 in a few months, but I feel young in my heart.
It was incredible when it came out. I was in late middle school. We hustled.
@@jun24juanhuerta14are you still alive?
WOAHHH!
TheTigers62 Mee too, in the year 1978 i was 16 in disco club hipopotamus in Guayaquil -Ecuador
Up till 11 pm......then you had to leave, adults over 21 only then
You forgot how good the hair must look
going to the clubs in the late 70s & 80s..i love & remember them all..been married for 37 years.I'm 75 & we still know all the moves..loving it
best disco song of all TIME hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably the best disco arrangement ever!
The best music ever, there will never be music like this in a lifetime... "The Disco Era"
I will never forget. I was a Dancer back in those days. love the hustle how I wish that music never end at least in my heart it will live forever...thank you for that note I was reminiscing in my mind how Beautiful life use to be with that type of music.
Life is music....
Milagros Correa Amen to that, Sistah!
Milagros Correa i so agree
Its so sad how the Rock & Roll music stations played a big part of destroying Disco..but there plan back fired it died and can back as vocal soulful Disco, rap, and now Hip Hop..and Hip Hop is now a billion dollar industry..the rock stations tried top stop it..then MTV & Micheal Jackson was born..God Bless MTV..
Yess Life is Music my motto 4life Mysic is my All

I am happy to read that so many people feel the same way about this song as I. I first heard this when it came out. I was just thirteen and have loved it ever since. Back then, I bought this record and played it so much that my family grew sick of it. When youtube was in its infancy, I searched this song all the time. I was and am very happy that it was finally added. Thank you!
Omg @ Carmen Cotto just like you Im so happy I found it, I was only 9 or 10yrs. old me & my cousins just watch everyone doing da hustle dance.
omg this was one of my fav. still is..
Carmen that's because there will never be a song of type caliber again. I've been playing music since the age of 14 and when I listen to this song I'm in awe of the arrangements and I try to explain this fact to today's so called DJs but they have no concept or clue of what I'm talking about.
Agree! It is truly a disco classic! So many fond memories.
Carmen Cotto this is one of my best
What can you say...this song is euphoric ta me!!!! Hearing this from into my ears n into my soul!!!! Amazing!!!!....SOUTHBROOKLYN....OH WHERE DID THY GO!!!! YANO!!!!! BE GOOD!!!
I'm getting the chills as I haven't heard this song in too many years to remember but I do remember hustling to this back in late 70's. My my, the memories are flooding back. I agree there was darn good production with some of these Disco songs.
FANTASTIC TIMES! INDEED!
Me too. I was hustling to this when it came out at all the disco's on Long Island, NY. The best times EVER!!!

How come a popular track "cleared the floor"? Makes no sense. Do you mean it was a "floor filler"? Different thing entirely!

How can anybody thumbs down this? clearly clueless. Just because your young doesn't make you wonderful.
The rest, especially orchestral disco... no way.
you said it all it was no problems everyone together just to party and enjoy life
HIp-Hop was already on the radio and pumping when Malcolm McLaren and Kraftwerk were making records.
This, my friends, is colossal disco! A Costandinos masterpiece!
Alec Costandinos is a genuis. If only this music was available though!

Beautiful song, I have to listen to it over and over again. I don't get tired of it.
