I don't think she'd actually made herself quite this obnoxious at the time they'd hired her--but they probably should have called it a day after the set fire, or after the first major round of reshoots failed to fix the movie, and picked the cheapest option for meeting the contractual obligations. (A release might actually be required, but that's been met occasionally by doing something like renting a screen at a rural movie theater for a night with no fanfare so it's gotten its theatrical release. It's not their fault that nobody bought a ticket...)
With all the social media stunts Rachel has pulled so far, it is impossible for me to separate her character as Snow White from her real self... and her real self seems quite obnoxious, entitled and unauthentic. I have a hunch I'm not the only one whose interest in seeing Snow White has gone from low to straight up skipping it.

yeh in today dollars Hunchback of Notre Dame would have budget of 140 million. So easy less than current Disney. It seem the market in terms of risk can handle anything above 100 million. I have to say something or nobody will. Take a close look at the animals in the shot. Two of each; rabbits, bluebirds, deer, and squirrels. Are they going for the Noah's ark crowd? Or are they setting up Snow White to be a solo act, the supreme leader of all creation? If they wanted to accomplish the later, they definitely picked the right leading actress, because she is about as self centered as they come.

Something you fail to mention is something Zegler has never been taught, nor has it occurred to her - that you shouldn't talk down other people to make yourself look big. She talked down the original Snow White movie to make the remake look big. She talks down her critics - like "I'm making an emotional post on how little their opinions matter.". She even talks down her fans. "I need thousands of you little people to be enough, because one individual fan doesn't matter."

But you forget they make money from rentals, DVD sales, broadcast rights, merchandising and streaming of course. They make their money back for sure.
Disney may be financing some or all of the costs. Out of a bank account is a lot of money. Especially with ballooned costs. There may be a loan with interest rates that have to be paid back.

This film isn’t gonna make back a penny until it’s released…and every delay, reshoot and such results in an entirely new round of P&A spending.
I spent 15 years as a Market Maker on the trading floor in Disney stock…my own analysis leave me to conclude that Disney is most likely to lose about $400m on it…they may actually be better off scrapping it entirely and taking a write-down on the loss.

i remember when disney had budgets and that was why the films always did well- even if they were not blockbusters (which weren't many). The Hunchback of Notre Dame animated film was one of the most expensive films ever made up to that point- and even then in the 90's it was unheard of and a bit scandalous. they didn't spend 400 million dollars on ANYTHING before current day disney decided to throw away money and burn through millions like it was a kamala harris campaign. now Woke Brown and the CGI Uncanny Valley Nightmares needs a BILLION TO BREAK EVEN??? i can't even. #BoycottDisney because they deserve it. and, #BYEzeglar
yeh in today dollars Hunchback of Notre Dame would have budget of 140 million. So easy less than current Disney. It seem the market in terms of risk can handle anything above 100 million. Also why Disney plus has not made a profit because they spend too much on shows. I honest though they going have small budgets and showed where going to look cheap because of the nature of streaming. In stead they where spending cash on shows like it going out style with one Star Wars show which they spent 9 million per episode.
Zegler learn to be like that from Families and people around her. Often it is something that happen to her when she was growing up. She display the full narcissistic spectrum, she gaslight, ignore and project to others what she can't control or comprehend her emotions. That type of character have no empathy, they cannot love. They use people as object to further there own needs. In the end they do not grow up and you need to deal with a 10 years old kid in the adult body.

People often talk shit about producers, but a good producer is invaluable to film production, it's just that their input isn't normally on the creative side.

Disney should just go all out and make this movie into a parody comedy (similar to Shrek). This Snow White already has the unexpected ethnicity, and her personality is anything but humble and feminine. Now, she should have a full-body tattoo and a nose ring. And because of the Mirror's weird tastes, it genuinely thinks that Snow White is the most beautiful woman in the world -- after all, beauty is subjective.
It'll be hilarious, and because it's a parody, real audience will come to watch this. Boom. I'm a genius.

I have to say something or nobody will. Take a close look at the animals in the shot. Two of each; rabbits, bluebirds, deer, and squirrels. Are they going for the Noah's ark crowd? Or are they setting up Snow White to be a solo act, the supreme leader of all creation? If they wanted to accomplish the later, they definitely picked the right leading actress, because she is about as self centered as they come.

Hollywood bombs used to be memorable because of their rarity, like Ishtar and Heaven’s Gate. Now it’s the successes that are memorable, especially for Disney.
The ego and hubris, likening herself to the statue "Winged Victory of Samothrace", which although broken and damaged (not flawed however), people still queue to see this irreplaceable, historic and timeless piece of art. Some Therapist's favorite analogy no doubt, but not Zeglers idea. Normally the few young people who are self-aware of their own immaturity and inexperience, have the intelligence to be quiet and listen twice as much as they speak, not continue to embarrass themselves.

I Loved Disney growing up. My children loved Disney growing up.
Disney became Progressive Left the same time when Silicon Valley wealth took control of California politics. The result was to destroy their prior advocacy of American values that made me Love their dream.
I will have nothing to do with Disney in the future. Disney's only redemption is bankruptcy with the post bankruptcy production being a story starring Mickey Mouse asleep tossing in bed with nightmares, then waking up realizing the time since 2000 in his dream never happened. Mickey then continues to produce entertainment aligned with American values pre 2000.
If Disney ignored everything they produced since 2000, restarting their culture and goals away from Bolshevism returning to American values, I would return to patronizing Disney.
Of course what I describe is a fantasy for the continuing nightmare that is Disney today.
