They threw hundreds of millions towards marketing and told the stars to overreact to everything to try and distract from the crisis of the fan made movie poster and the immorality of two of the stars having extra marital affairs and divorcing their spouses.
Ok, I can't stand either one of these self-important, arrogant women that I can barely understand what the heck they are saying, and there is no way I will ever see this movie, or any movie with these incredibly annoying people in them!!!
International numbers are falling off rapidly, and were pretty bad to begin with. It's still pulling in $80 million this weekend from the US and Canada (almost entirely from middle-age women = Kamala voters), but it hasn't even passed $100 million in TOTAL from all international markets. It has drawn in about $300 million thus far in total gross, and is going to start dropping off rapidly starting next weekend. If international markets don't pick up, the film will struggle to reach $600 million for a final gross. Astoundingly, "Red One" only fell 2% this weekend from last weekend, adding another $12 million. It still won't make a profit, but it's a sign that some people are so bored with everything else in the theater, they'll pay to watch pure seasonal schlock repeatedly. "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" is more evidence of this, falling a mere 4% and adding another $3.2 million this weekend. It's NOT schlock, but it's not the sort of film that has tended to do well in recent years, being far more traditional Christmas comedy with religious overtones. It's already profitable, having grossed $32 million against a tiny $10 million budget.
As an original fan of Oz. (I own all the books and actually have one signed.) I really didn't enjoy it. I also didn't enjoy the series that had the Bumpy Man, The Rak, The Scoodlers, Even a Princess that can remove her head and replace it with one she deems more beautiful being called Gay... Reading the OZ books gave me nightmares as a kid and I dreaded meeting a new character because they're all equally messed up in every way.
I am not the 'target' audience for this movie BUT two months ago I discovered it and was excited to see it BUT the actresses and their griping/crying/creepy behavior have turned me OFF.
"They have taken the Bridge and the Second Hall. We have barred the gates, but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes... Drums. Drums in the deep. We cannot get out. A Shadow moves in the dark... We cannot get out... They are coming." I didn’t realise that bit was referring to Cynthia…
The book was actually pretty dark. The changes made for the musical were 1, to adapt it to stage, 2 to tone it down. Like the whole plot line about the talking animals, they toned that way down! The musical is for sure more family friendly.
She Sounds Insecure of herself but trying to Cover up her Lack of Self esteem by being Egocentric, "Iam Perfect", Self Obsessed, Everything is about me person 😊😊😊😊
I think Cynthia is only basking in the attention because the movie was successful. I haven't forgotten Cynthia (the one who looks like a real evil witch with those long ass nails) outraged, when a fan edit of the movie poster covered her face, to look like the original broadway art.
I've been dying to see this movie since before it was greenlit. I became a big Wicked fan in 2010, my senior year of high school. I was excited when the film was officially announced, had some mixed feelings when they announced the cast, and then was so disappointed in Ariana and Ethan when news of their affair broke and Ariana put out the song "Yes, And...?" It put a dampener on the whole thing. But then Cynthia... geez, if the homewrecker wasn't bad enough, we've got a pick-me girl so insufferable she makes Rachel Zegler look humble. I decided this film won't see one cent from me, and I found a pirated copy online to stream. The pacing was lousy because they stretched a 1.5 hr Act to fill a 2.5 hr film, yet STILL cut some of my favorite jokes. Everything they interjected to stretch out Defying Gravity made it hard for me to enjoy it because I know how the song is supposed to go on the soundtrack and I know how the scene is supposed to play out onstage. Everything they added just felt like a jerk pausing my favorite song. Other than some crying (of course), Cynthia's performance was dead. It was like she didn't understand that some of her lines were actually funny and therefore put no effort into comedic timing. In "What is This Feeling," she keeps a poker face nearly the whole time. You'd never be able to tell Elphaba was irritated with Galinda. There were a lot of instances where I wouldn't have been able to tell what was going on in Elphaba's head if it weren't for all the good actresses that have played her before, and she certainly didn't make me feel anything but irritation. The choreography and cinematography were amazing, and as a Wicked fan it was definitely worth seeing once. But it wasn't worth paying for, and these actresses, especially Cynthia, ruined it. I couldn't see Elphaba. I could only see Cynthia. Hundreds of women have played the role and played it well, and any of the more recent ones could have been cast, but they chose this woke bully with an ox ring in her nose.
Personally I was actually interested in seeing this movie when I saw the trailer but between the controversy and these press interviews I have been completely put off.

I seriously doubt that because people act like they committed something awful in this interview or something but no everybody is big issues is them being for themselves and crying. "Woke ruins everything"is absolutely rubbish
The movie is great, but these actresses are out of their minds. 🤯🤯
I watch it. Personally, not my cup of tea. I blame my wife for bringing me to see the movie.
Funny thing is my wife also find it a total waste of money.
I'm SO DISAPPOINTED in all "HYPE" pushed out on this movie. Because all its doing to me is keeping me away from the boxoffice. I don't want to know about your personal views. If I'm paying to go to a movie, I want to be entertained... but once you open your mouth and show me WHO YOU ARE...that's all I see on the screen and I'm no longer entertained.
So in your opinion actors are not allowed to talk about themselves
@@animezilla4486 we have a right to be turned off by the ridiculous, phony spectacle that is the promotional interviews. It's too much... too fake!
@michaelcoletta4547 I never said you didn't have the right to be turned off by this all I was saying is that this interview was cringe but beside all that it was totally harmless nobody was insulting anybody in other words there was nothing controversial about this interview
And on top of all this, the ppl who did go see it started critiquing that it was about the election ... just ridiculous.
I think they found a batch of Magic Mushrooms in OZ.
The whole poster kerfufle turned me off of seeing this movie in theaters. Before that whole mess happened. I had been planning on taking my wife and neice to go see it
They threw hundreds of millions towards marketing and told the stars to overreact to everything to try and distract from the crisis of the fan made movie poster and the immorality of two of the stars having extra marital affairs and divorcing their spouses.
Is that the same girl from the donut shop?
Yes
"They have taken the Bridge and the Second Hall. We have barred the gates, but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes... Drums. Drums in the deep. We cannot get out. A Shadow moves in the dark... We cannot get out... They are coming."
I didn’t realise that bit was referring to Cynthia…
She looks like she should be in Harry Potter
She looks like Dana Carvey in master of disguise when he was pretending to be a half turtle man.
“Am I not turtle-ly enough for the Turtle Club?”
The book was actually pretty dark. The changes made for the musical were 1, to adapt it to stage, 2 to tone it down. Like the whole plot line about the talking animals, they toned that way down! The musical is for sure more family friendly.
When will someone tell these mod woman that a bull 🐂 ring is a symbol of slavery? Super weird….
Saw (and enjoyed) the stage show. Don't need to see a Hollywood bastardized Part 1 & 2 cliffhanging money grab.
I loved wicked on broadway saw it three times but I will not be seeing this just because of these two starts.
Underperforming? Is that why the new commercials feature Jeff Goldblum?
She Sounds Insecure of herself but trying to Cover up her Lack of Self esteem by being Egocentric, "Iam Perfect", Self Obsessed, Everything is about me person 😊😊😊😊
Nosferatu and Wednesday Adams 😅 Hollywood is just so Effing creepy and sick.
I think Cynthia is only basking in the attention because the movie was successful. I haven't forgotten Cynthia (the one who looks like a real evil witch with those long ass nails) outraged, when a fan edit of the movie poster covered her face, to look like the original broadway art.
Defying Gravity will never be "Somewhere under the Rainbow". Not even in the same league.
Her parents failed her.. I think that letting Cynthia Erivo work a blue collar job for a few months would do her good.
She needs to serve a Ariana Grande latte for a few months. 😂
Comatose from turkey!🤣
They both appear sick and possessed, crying out for help. Souls have been lost...
Although I've read the book and I've also seen Wicked the Musical, the lead actresses are the reason I don't want to see Wicked the movie.
Best way to ruin a good night's sleep?
Crap the bed.
That's wicked for ya....
The BEST thing about this latest Disney woke flop is the Critical Drinker's review on it.
--NOW THAT's ENTERTAINMENT !!!
Wow I didn’t know orcs actually existed.
It could be worse, Ariana could be saying “she hates America”, which she did, several years ago
I remember when she licked a bunch of donuts and was aghast that people complained about it
The constant touching is as off putting for me as the drivel coming out of them.
COME ON MAN as a parent we refuse to buy any MERCH associated with this mess of a movie nope NOT INTERESTED trash
Personally I was actually interested in seeing this movie when I saw the trailer but between the controversy and these press interviews I have been completely put off.
I had no idea the movie Wicked was being made. I wouldn’t go see it anyway. The current movie releases for the past few years have completely SUCKED. Why would anyone spend the money to see trash?
I don’t care to watch the movie. It would be in the best interest of the movie if they do not continue interviews. It’s nauseating to see them cry and be over emotional. It’s not that deep.
