  • Swedish Pastry is a Jazz-Blues written by Barney Kessel in the 1940th and first recorded by the swedish clarinetist Stan Hasselgård and later by Benny Goodman.
Barney Kessel is one of my top-favorite guitarplayers. He really was a giant, a guitar monster. George Benson once said: „Barney Kessel could turn a guitar inside out.“
He´s right, and that´s why this tune a tricky one to play. But it is a fine mixture of Bebop and Blues.
I tried a litte duet with myself playing both my Schnoor CC Hommage and my Gibson Custom Shop ES 175 VOS. I plugged them into my new Universal Audio Dream 65, which works out nicely. I also added a little bit of ambience by a room microphone.
Unfortunately one of the two videos is slightely out of focus, but that´s just the way it is.

Great tune, excellent playing and excellent guitars. I especially like the Schnoor.
