Love the lo-fi sound. Back in the days when Demos actually was made on cassettes. Awesome one-man band. cheers

That tape needs a badly marker pen designed satanic cover photocopied x100 times to perfectly match it

Or one of those pictures of a nice unassuming country side or mountain cliff.
Until they pop it in then BOOM Black Metal

If I didn't know I would say it was recorded in the 90s. Sounds like lost, unreleased Darkthrone records.

    GRIM. This is fucking awesome.
EDIT: That third riff. Fuck me. I'm doing the black metal claw and the "riff face". You know exactly what I mean.

i dig it, i myself have wanted to get my hands on one of these 4 track recorders.....a few years ago i started finding many obscure punk demo tapes from all around here on YT, and since alot of it is from the 80s and 90s, most likely they were recorded on these types of machines...and i just love that raw/lo fi kinda quality to me just gives it alot of more charm to the sound ...great job man

I wish most metal was still recorded like this to me it sounds more authentic like that's what it's sounds like live I hate super clean production with fake sounding drums I wish bands where still raw sounding

There's plenty of bands doing raw production man. Like a fuck ton. Especially black metal. So idk what you're on about.

I agree, and also most new bands just compress their sounds and it just sounds boring. What I mean by lo-fi are bands like Bathory "under the black mark sign" album, that's the type of lofi sound I think is better

Honestly, this kinda slaps. Those vocals are so reminiscent of the early 1990s. It's going on my bm playlist.
P.S. It'd be dope if you could upload just the song without the behind the scenes as its own seperate video. Then it'd fit nicely into my playlist.

Lmao, this is exactly what I wanted to watch! I was watching the One man metal with leviathan and it’s got me pumped up to record. I’ve been using garage band and it’s ok, but I think I want another 4 track again, had one in my teens. And thanks for the heads up with recording with a shure mic. My dad got me a condenser and, but was talking to Athalwolf from Wolfnacht and he said a shure is a way to go for guitars

I mean, literally the original way to get black metal is to use the cheapest gear you can get. Filosofem is played on a guitar with single coil pickups through a marshall practice amp and the vocals are recorded with a helicopter headset.
