Dude, I've seen grown adults in emergency situations go into full on, panicked chaos. Nobody said this kid was a genius or the next Stephen Hawking, but he's clearly got great situational awareness and decision making skills. Also, not every kid in our parents' and grandparents' generations grew up on farms driving tractors and shit 😆
I'm a former Marine Infantry platoon sergeant, ( 0369) and I've completed several combat deployments in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I've seen Marines do some pretty heroic stuff, but this young man's actions rate right up there. I am beyond impressed with the calm manner which he displayed stopping that bus. Not only did he save lives on the bus, but also innocent drivers and pedestrians as well. He truly defines the word hero....
It great to hear someone like yourself give that kind of compliment. I couldn't agree more. I think this young man has a great future ahead of him. Thank you so much for your service for our great country! What amazing stories you must have. God keep all of you safe.
I love the way he took control of the entire situation, he stopped the bus & gave orders. Would not take no for an answer. That young man is a true leader & hero. I’m a WWII veteran’s daughter & it is my pleasure to thank you for your service, Sir. As my Dad hung the flag every morning, he would say, “got to keep this Flag flying”. Thank you, for doing your part in keeping our flag flying.
@@1450JackCade "Apparently his dad, when the school called, asked, "what did he do now." Which makes you wonder, is his dad a tool, or/and is the kid bit troubled." Or he could be like the late Steve McQueen, who was both a hell-raiser and a real hero in his life before he became an actor.
I have seen several adults freak out during a emergency situation before. This young man took control, kept his composure and saved everyone from a serious accident. I'm extremely proud of him, great job mom and dad. May God bless them all!
Most children are stuck in their cellphones/videogame consoles. This kid was well aware of his surroundings, noticed something most kids wouldn't pay attention, decided to act upon it, and acted accordingly and knew how to do it. He even did some leadership instructing the other kids to dial for emergency remaining calm while they were in distress. His parents did a great job raising this little hero.
Agree, personally returning about a dozen HS students back home, informed them to please pay attention to their stops to let me know in advance since was first time in area. Needless to say, 2 girls listened and got to their stops right away whereas a handful missed their stops leaving me to go 3/4 of a mile around again...even then many had their noses buried in their phones. Have found over 90% are clueless as to where they live physically. To me the system intentionally dumbs everyone down including adults. Desire to see how many drive with one hand while texting or reviewing data in their phones, drive a bus😅
God Bless this Heroic Young Man he saved countless lives with his quick thinking ❤ I hope Mayor Founts recognizes his bravery with an award. One of the best videos I've seen in a while! 🏆
Proud of this young man! This could have gone horribly wrong for all the students who n bus and other traffic! Thanks for being the hero that you are! Amazing confidence and self control under pressure! I see a bright future for you young man. ❤
Brought tears to my eyes! What a hero a precious little boy!!! God bless him!!! He saved the children's lives and the bus driver! Let's teach our children to have his brave heart and as adults let's have a heart like him! Praise the Lord!
What a total boss! This kid should grow up to be an airline pilot or something. He was so calm and collected and I'm in awe of his situational awareness and how he instinctually knew how to prioritize his actions - get the bus to a safe stop and then communicate the need to call for help. And then when he was calling out directions to call 911 and you hear all the panicked screaming from the other kids, you hear that one little tiny adorable voice ring out above it all right at the end, "I got it!!" Whoever that kid is, they should be commended too! Those two stepped up when everyone else was melting down.
Thanks for being aware of ur surroundings. We may trust our own self but it's the other people that I worry about! Thanks for saving your group and the driver.
A true community leader in the maker... Can't say enough good things about this quick, decisive thinking young man. Dillon Reeves you protentional saved everyone on the bus as well as motorists and pedestrians from getting in harms way... Bravo young man, you deserve an award!
That’s a great example of society. One person willing to step up and do what’s necessary in the face of fear, while most scream aimlessly and totally panic. We need more people like that kid.
I am so proud that he had the courage. It brought tears to my eyes knowing he didn't just save the driver but all other children & himself. He is amazing 👏
Dillon, If you're reading this, you did a good job buddy! A little advice I'd like to offer you. This Spirit of good will that you have. Hang on to it!!! As adults most of us tend to loose it, and think someone else will step up, which a lot of the time leads to a bad situation becoming worse. YOU ARE GOING TO BE A GREAT LEADER...SOONER THAN YOU THINK!!!
Dillon, God bless you! You make all of us "old farts" so very proud. Thank you for your calm and leadership. Wishing you a life of happiness and success!
Awesome job bud!!! Pay attention kids, remain calm and do just as he did. Screaming won’t get you anywhere. I couldn’t be more proud of this young man!
What a great kid, he was aware of his surroundings, kept calm and jumped in to help right away. He should be very proud. It's also great to see some positive news where situations like this end well and nobody is hurt
This kid gives me goosebumps. Makes me want to teach my boys to be aware of their surroundings at all time and also being able to know how to operate machines. Legend.
He took control! He didn’t stay in the herd mentality. I loved when he told for the other kids to call 911. “I don’t care call 911” they must have hesitation even to summon help! There are still a few children that are raised well! Because it starts at home at a early age! God Bless him! ❤
Hes great and it was amazing, but he didnt "likely SAVE" the kids. The bus was moving at a crawl and if it hit anything it woulda just been a light bump and school buses are designed to take some pretty hard hits and not injure kids inside. I guess you could say if it crawled into an intersection and got hit by a speeding truck than yeh. Still amazing though and the kid is awesome.
There is something about this that chokes me up. Dillon deserves a medal for his quick actions and bravery. Not only did he save a bus full of kids, but he showed real maturity by immediately asking for 911, for medical help for the driver. All this while it seemed the other kids were screaming in the background.
Anyone doing such job should not be behind the wheel if they happen to feel unwell suddenly or any bad health conditions. Likely this chap noticed this and know how to stop the bus Well done 👍
Looked like the bus driver was in the process of trying to stop but lost consciousness before they came to a stop. The kid did a great job actually stopping the bus before anyone got hurt and then showed great leadership in immediately asking for someone to call 911. The kids parents must be absolutely bursting with pride. Absolutely well done that young man!
Yes in the full video the bus driver calls into to say they're not well and need to pull over but passed out before they were able to do so. That's when the kid jumped in
Yes the kid did a heroic thing congrats on being on every major news outlet. HOW IS THE BUS DRIVER!!!! Ive heard enough about this kid. He IS a hero yes but at this point I want to hear about the drivers health. This must've been so traumatic for her. Was it a heart attack. None of these news outlets care. The most Ive heard is "oh yeah and the bus driver is recovering in the hospital."
"I don't care! Call 911!" That kid knew it needed to be done and he wasn't going to accept no for an answer. I hope this memory fuels his self worth for a lifetime.
What a hero he was. That bus most likely would have crashed if he didn’t act as quickly as he did to hit the brakes after the driver passed out, which would have caused serious - or even fatal - injuries to everyone on board depending on what it would have crashed into (or at least that’s what I think would have happened, anyway).
That kid has excellent leaderships skills and instincts at such a young age. He's going to go places.
Not places. He learned it from GTA🗿

No, he stopped the bus, so he's not going anywhere.
yes indeed

As a former Army, I agree with you brother!
omg the screams on the other kids shows you even more how calm and collected he is....the opposit of his classmates
What a brave boy

I have seen other school bus incident. Other hero kid pulled the car key out. That was very fast thinking.
