The location we usually shoot videos like this at is now private property. I will have a video up tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday but after this weekend I’m going to try and find a new spot to do my videos at. Just bare with me guys!
My fusing went well this year. Shot almost 500 canister shells and only 2 didn't go off. All the cakes went off great. Helpful videos I watched a few years back from you.
I've loved fireworks since I was a kid, 60 years. I still love them but I live in a fireworks-unfriendly state now so it's just something we get away with once a year. But you create entertaining content year-round and I enjoy watching it so you've got another subscriber. Looking forward to your next video, thanks.
I tied over 300 shells this 4th of july using a single zip tie. Only about 10 failed to light. I tied them as close as possible to the beginning of the fuse. Because of such a low failure rate I will do it again next year. The only ones I double tied were the fuses bridging over to another rack just to be safe. Apparently there is an automatic zip tie gun and I will try it next year as well.
Hey Cody. Just wanna day I’ve learned so much for your channel. You have helped me up my fireworks game. My family’s 4th of July this year was epic. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.
VERY cool Video . Quick fuse is great but still obviously a slight delay, which is cool. Quick match is the only way to get instantaneous ignition.. sticky match is incredible for this too!! Again, excellent video! ;)
Great video! I used a combination of Perfect fuse & Quick fuse from Cannonfuse.com to launch all my shells this year. I was shooting a mix of Bazooka canisters from Miracle, and Smoke-n-Mirrors and Maelstrom from Brothers. I observed the same delays you saw in the video and to me the cause also appeared to be the difference in the shell fuses.
CODY!!!!! Can you do a video to show us pyros what's inside some of your average 200 and 500 gram cakes?? Oh and also N.O.A.B.'S I think it would be cool to see what these cakes would look like split right down the middle and see what the shells look like in them as well. Thankyou and keep up the fire dude...
Just a point of clarification, the shell leader fuse type or length has nothing to do with the timing between each shell. As long as all shells have the same length and type of fuse, the timing between each shell is controlled by the fuse length/type of the main run fuse between each shell. Changing the shell leader fuse only affects how quickly the first shell goes off when lit by the main fuse.
whats up cody so just want to say congrats on 100k! you growing SO FAST! Your living everyones pyro dreams, and i say this to you alot, but just keep having fun and being yourself!
The delay is due to the fuse laying on the main fuse it jumps when it catches if you will tie a clove hitch to the main fuse from the shell you can get perfect timing.
i had the same though about the fuse not jumping instantly. i will usually cut open the end of the shell fuse to get to the powder center, then splice it to the connecting fuse. this gives me perfect ignition every time.
@@lathankraft4955 True, that helps a lot for reliable ignition. However, in my experience, you still can't trust visco-visco side fire ignition for timing consistency. Something else I have tried - and failed with - is linking visco-fused items through the sidewall of quickmatch. I found that the necessary (clove-hitch ;-) ) ties that hold the visco inside the quickmatch sleeve can result in over-pressure situations that simply blow apart the fusing strings. The 'little' quickmatch explosions are quite capable of simply tearing the visco out of the fireworks. And vent slots in the quickmatch sleeve, to release the pressure, stop it from being proper quickmatch! It seemed like a good idea, but gave really frustrating results. Fast visco links are more reliable. If the effect you really need though, is timing consistency, there's not much alternative to e-matches and a firing system. In my opinion. I've even tried quickmatch to individually trimmed chinese time fuse segments. Nope. But it was worth a try! There's just so much fun to be had with pyro...
@@alanmumford8806 it is definitely difficult to get accurate timing using visco fuse. I mainly use fusing together for firing my finale rack or when timing is not super important. If I want to time something well, I use my firing system. I built my own firing system using arduino components and worked well this year.
Nice!!! I got unlucky with fusing this year. The timing was correct but the fuse did not perform as advertised. Our fast fuse burned slowly and was very inconsistent. Any brand recommendations you can make?
My show didn't go as planned this year we used green fuse on the cakes and they went too slow and then we quick fused the finale shells and half didn't go off. It was 20 mins long and The crowd was happy but I will be thinking about it till next july. Moral of the story is care more about the fusing techniques

You have a suspiciously deep knowledge of igniting explosives simultaneously.
He needs to test this
