Hi Scanner Guys! I'm a law student doing some research on Uniden Bearcat scanner radios from the 1990s. I'm wondering if, at the time, the serial number would come on the outside packaging/box (as well as the radio itself). Thank you!
Hi. Wondering if you can help. I have the 436hp, do I need to upgrade software to get my local police dispatch? They are on ap25 phase 2 I believe. I set it to scan with a programmed SD card for my county and nothing seems to come thru.
Not really. I prefer a Mac but need to use my wife's Windows computer to use Sentinel so I can update firmware. That being said, if you have a Windows emulator for Mac, such as "Wine", it is supposedly possible but I know nothing about doing that.
i down loaded sentinel software. checked for updates ,but the county i really need switched to digital about 2 months ago and looks like the software is still showing all the analog freq lee county ,ia thanks for any kelp
First, thanks for the great content. A question on the state-wide trunk systems. If I set the location distance to 30 miles for example, it seems to eliminate any of the trunking sites outside that range. Is that accurate? It also means if I drive around the state, I'll hear the sites I'm within range of rather than having to "add" sites back in as I need them. Thanks again. Cliff
Great video in june 2023, use of sentinel software in windows 11 requires careful navigation of pull downs also basic skills of windows computing (ie copy/paste) a bit difficult for an old 80 yr old man scanner fan, but learnable! 73
I have a Bcd436hp my city fire and police are using p25. I had known trouble listening too them . They switched over too p25 phase 2 . I upgrade my scanner too phase 2 I can only pickup a like on it and a couple day go bye and nothing is heard, do y’all have any ideas what going on with scanner?
just bought a 536hp today, now feel a little bumbed out that it's such old tech, it wont be here till the19 of july, thanks to the disapointmen thought was buying something new and great was going to buy the sds200 but following, they are much agrevacation and cheap
uniden 536hp will only SCAN full database NOT favorites LIST ANY FIXES?

Great video. I have a BCD536HP coming in today. I'm a firefighter and a storm chaser so this unit should be a great tool for me.

Your pd is probably encrypted
All of the sudden it will not make a connection to the internet or see my BCD436? Have the latest version.

It could be a few things. I would need to know more to trouble shoot the problem.

It's not old, it still current and it a great scanner i have many of them in my own shack!
