This is great info. My wife struggles with seasonal depression in the winter. We are both ready for warm winters, healthy meals and getting in shape. This is your most relatable video yet.
I stuffed with seasonal depression here in the northeast and I’m 22 years old. I’m originally from the Caribbean so my hobbies consist of being outside so being stuck indoors is so bad for me mental health.😥😓
Thank you for sharing this great video.... Everything you said is true....We moved from NYC to central Florida...It was the best move we ever did...?Love the weather...no snow..and walking and swimmingly everyday is a dream come true...We wished we did it years ago...My anxiety is much better...God Bless your beautiful family...
This is exactly why we're coming there late 2021- 2022. I really need some sunshine and happiness. Living in Delaware has really been depressing. I so look forward to our kids playing outside and just loving the outdoors. I'm the exact same way with my anxiety. We just look forward to so many outdoor activities. Let's not even talk about arthritis lol. This video just hit my soul!
I have low vitamin D level from up north no sun broke bones badly so just got to Florida it will be much healthier here still awaiting house to be finished but could not tolerated hours in the dark sanding and salting every night anymore!! Only to possibly fall and break bones worse! So settling in Melbourne area!!
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, and anxiety when I was 15. I'm 28 and moving to Florida has been n my mind heavy for few weeks now... I've decided to go through with it and move by end of july hopefully.
I made it!! It feels so good being home!! (I visited so much when I lived in GA) lol I drive all the way from Los Angeles! Today we are in Ft Walton. Will drive down to Tampa in a few hours.. waiting for the storm to pass.
Yay!!! Congratulations! 🎊 what a long drive!! Make sure to check out the beach while you are up there! Although there’s a storm, it will still be beautiful! Be careful on your drive, and we hear there is some flooding in Tampa 😞 so hope you are not affected by that! Join us for our LIVE tonight and we will blow the kazoos for you!
Great video, guys. I hear ya about the SAD. When we lived in northeast Tennessee, I had that problem. I know that that’s not as bad as Wisconsin, but those winter months seemed so long and dreary. I could actually feel myself longing for sunshine.
🌸😊 Cool video. New subscriber to your channel. This video almost brought me to tears. It made me realize how stressed and unhappy that I am. Things in NY are daily taking a turn for the worse. Still in lockdown, fear of virus "camps", etc. You've made me realize that i could be free. I'm going to move to Florida with my son. Not sure where. Thanks for sharing your story. 🌴🦩

OMG, I really hear you and it's like me. I am Puerto Rican and I have lived in Wisconsin for 14 years, I have a family of 5 and I would like to go to Florida. I'm afraid of changes and thinking that, what if we are doing badly economically there? but at the same time I am excited to leave. My children are happy to know that we could live in Florida and to be with part of their cousins and family. Thanks for all the video with information and tips that you do. Blessings!
I have a same situations as you do I have a family of five and love Florida and my kids are excited too to see cousins in Florida and be together, but I am afraid of changes.
Don’t underestimate the significant impact sun(Vit D) has on autoimmune diseases. Arthritis and eczema and so many more problems respond to increased Vit d levels. Clean diet helps too like you mentioned! Thanks for an inspiring video about my home state🌴
I've had asthma and eczema all my life, I was worried the high humidity might make things worse. Nice to hear the humidity has helped others. Being healthier in Florida would be a huge benefit, it just worries me how expensive healthcare might be in Florida. As far as family goes, I think I may get them to visit at least once a year with so many awesome things to do in Florida and I can visit them during the nicer times in Washington state. Besides the stress of a move (alone), my biggest anxiety is health related concerns. Another great video FWF, looking good and thank you for sharing your stories! Take care. 🙂
Thank you Lisa! We did not mention asthma much in this video...for our kids, we actually feel that their asthma has been a little better in Florida than it was in Wisconsin. However, when we did our research, many people say that humidity is bad for asthma. From our experience though, Florida has NOT made their asthma worse.
They have great healthcare for low income family’s but if your worried find work that has great benefits don’t settle for anything less than you deserve live your dreams!!!!
We moved from Chicago to Wisconsin and now that me and my husband are getting older we have arthritis and my kids have really bad eczema. Right now we are about to get 10 inches of snow and all I can think about is crawling in my bed and not getting out. I have never been to Florida but I hear that it is beautiful.
We have kids who suffer from both asthma and eczema…both conditions have gotten better after moving to Florida. Sully (our 5 year old) had eczema, and now it is completely gone! We’ve heard that Florida is good for arthritis as well!
It is that time of year! Bad weather up north, and beautiful Florida weather! Unfortunately hurricane Eta is blocking the sun from us the last few days!
one of the first things I want todo when I get to Madeira beach is to get down to the beach and just breath in that fresh salt air !! Its so amazing and I swear it refreshes your soul !!!! Its my happy place but right now Im stuck in NY ...Anyone else in western NY in the same boat and want to go !!???
Those are both great areas! However, there is a great difference geographically between the two! For example, this morning Pensacola is 15° cooler than Naples is
@@FloridaWithFive Good point I hadn't considered. They're both in Florida so I figured yeah about the same temperatures. Guess not. The Panhandle can get fairly cold during winter eh? Good to know, thanks.
We’ll I actually have been suffering depression for a couple of year’s .for this reason I in 2019 I lost most of my vision from optic nerve.so all I have now is low vision.and the only way I can txt or read is. For 2 he’s with these special goggles called the iris’s.I used to work at my hospital for over 15 years and I had to give it up plus my drivers license.that was so hard. So yesi get real nervous when I go out with my wife to Walmart and can’t see things on there self’s. Or trying to shovel our crappy snow .here in Pennsylvania.by the way I do have arthritis in my knee and real bad in my hip . It’s so bad when I get up from up a chair it always popping. So getting away from our snow and cold weather.I bet would helpful for me with a pool .I just hope we don’t have trouble finding a house.
This was an awesome video guys! Very informative and I love the positivity! Here in Pennsylvania it is freezing today and cold. Lindsay thank you for being so open and honest about depression and anxiety!
@@FloridaWithFive Florida is 100% going to be a move for me and my family, I have relatives in Ormond Beach and I have a good career lined up for me there. I’m just afraid of dedicating myself to the ocean side(which I very much enjoy) when i haven’t ever been to the gulf coast. If you remember, I was asking you guys last week about Sarasota/Venice. Just from what I’ve seen on UA-cam, looks very beautiful there as well
Question for wifey, the wild life doesn’t trigger your anxiety in Florida? My family and I will be visiting Florida for the first time in April and we are considering investing over there. I, like yourself have suffered from anxiety for years now and I worry wild life would trigger my anxiety if I move there. I hate spiders and can’t even think about finding myself with a snake in my home 😩... am I overthinking this?
What about the humidity? That's all you hear about Florida. That it's so humid that all you wanna do is stay indoors under the AC. It's the one thing holding my wife back from making the move.
Lindsay you may want to try local honey - for your seasonal allergies- I live in Washington state but someone told me that local honey from your area (any state)helps with allergies- I have been eating 1 tablespoon of honey once everyday for the last 4 weeks and I have notice a difference Food for thought 😃😃
I just recently came across your videos. There great thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge! I always wanted to live at a warmer state. I live in Indiana with my husband and two kids. But now I been actually thinking about seriously moving to a warmer state and Florida is the state I want to move too. I’m thinking in a couple of years though. I shared this with my husband but he is not as excited as I’m about the idea 😞 he is worry that we might struggle and become distant from one another he said. Over here my husband has a decent pay compare to other jobs. Did you guys encounter any problems between both about moving to Florida?
Hi Joselyne! To be honest, us moving to Florida has actually brought us closer as a couple. We only have each other to lean on....as for jobs, on average Florida pay is less than many other states. That does not mean that you cannot make the same or even more here doing the same job. Our advise is to sell yourself to perspective employers and tell them what you can do do make their company more efficient/profitable. Do not just settle for the pay that the job advertises.
Yayy I'm so excited! I've been in Colorado my entire life and I'm moving here and will be road tripping around in a rental car next week! Where do you guys live? I would love to get in contact with you for some advice! I have no idea where I want to live but it's just me single no pets or kids, and I need to just rent a condo near the beach. I'm kind of just winging this trip but maybe I should book some airbnbs or something.. moving has been overwhelming and I will put all of my stuff into a storage unit tomorrow so that I don't have to galavant around with it and can come back for it (I've already driven all the way from Colorado to where I am right now which is in South Carolina).. anyway if there's any way to get in touch with you guys please let me know
We're planning on moving to Florida from the Pacific NW where we have very moderate weather & low humidity. How did you adjust to the humidity in the Summer? How long did it take?
