- As we wrapped up our first full month of RV living on the road, we left the Badlands for the Mt Rushmore area! The drive was gorgeous & we were so pumped to arrive at the KOA at Palmer Gulch…the second largest KOA in the country! It was truly something special. We explore the campground a bit and get done ice cream. The next day we went into Hill City for the boys to get their hair cut, then we drove to Deadwood to meet with some friends we knew from living in Tennessee, the McVeys! At the time, they were also full-time and staying down the road a bit. Deadwood was so interesting! The following day, they came to our KOA to play and hang out. It was such a wonderful stay so far!
In the next episode, we finally visit Mount Rushmore!

*Note: we discovered an unfortunate downside to editing videos that we shot a year ago. Our vlogging camera somehow got switched from 1080p to 780 and we never realized it. Our apologies for the downgrade in quality! Thankfully we got some camera upgrades later in 2022 as well.

The next time you are there, be sure to go to Bear Country USA in Rapid City. It's a wonderful park that you drive through with all kinds of animals. You'll want to drive down Spearfish Canyon too. It is a very pretty ride from Spearfish. Wild Bill Hickock & Calimity Jane are buried in Deadwood. Cemetary. They are interesting to see. Have fun!
We definitely want to go back! We didn’t have time to see even a tenth of what was available to explore!

Where were you coming from? We're going to be coming up from the Denver area through Nebraska.
We came from the east through the Badlands.
