this is exactly the video i needed. I chopped up my moms 30 year old umbrella tree and was worried she wont get another plant from it if my propagation failed LOL. I took MANY cuttings so this gives me hope that at the very least one will root and we can get a plant from it
Thank you, that was the best gardening video I’ve ever seen! The music was great too. And the mosquito bits, I’ve never heard of them for those darn gnats. Can’t wait to try them! Thanks again, so very very much. 💚
This is amazing. Virtually all the videos out there show using 5+ nodes, but the results with the single node segment are amazing. Almost feels counterintuitive that the smaller segments are more robust than the large stems. This is perfect since I prefer methods that don't cut off so many leaves. I can really go a long way with my dwarf umbrella using that technique. I wanna try this with other plants now! I have 3 dwarf umbrellas atm, and I'd like to prune them to get branching like yours. Now I know how simple it is to propagate this lovely plant! 🍵✨️🙏
Ours is about the same - it has survived 3 kids and 2 grandsons digging in it's dirt, pulling its leaves off, etc., but it needs to be cut back. This video gave me courage and knowledge to give it a go!

So it looks like the water one had the best root growth. Interesting. I have a schefflera bonsai that is coming due for a reduction and I will use these techniques to propogate the cuttings.
❤❤❤❤YES AND THE GOOD THING ABOUT WATER IS THAT YOU CONTROL IT. IT CAN BE FIJI IT CAN BE WELL WATER IT CAN BE DEER PARK OR DASANI SO ON AND SO FORTH THE PURER THE WATER THE BETTER ROOT RESULTS💋💯
There's a Schefflera at my work that I just love. The leaves are so beautifully shaped. I really want to take a cutting home with me to try and grow my own, but the plant only has a single stalk. My boss has a couple of the leaves that have sprouted and I took a couple home, too, but I think in order to get what I want, I need a stem cutting. Would this work if I cut the very end of the plant (maybe 3 nubs in)? Do the cuttings need to be at least a certain length for success? The original plant is technically not mine so I can cut it down too much.
You should get a stem cutting and not just the leaves in order to get a high rate of success in rooting. In the video I used a short ang long stem and they are rooted. Just use at least more than 1 cutting so if the other one fail you still have the others.
I have a large plant my husband received as a gift many years ago. It is so large for our tiny home. I want to try to get it smaller but the stem is woody. How far down can you cut it?
I don’t have preferred time because i’m propagating indoor with controlled environment. But, you can better propagate during the beginning of summer time.
Quite often it's because the plant can't support so many leafs while having no roots. It spends all it's energy trying to stay alive. Removing excess leafs allows the plant to develop a root system to support new top growth.

Omg thank you. This is the best umbrella tree video ever. 🫶🏽

This was very helpful. Thanks. I really like how you use different mediums and show the progress.

My Schifflera is a single stalk nearly 6 feet tall. Now I know what to do with it! Thank you very much!! 🌱

Echt een hele goede video! Ik ben er blij mee!😃
Just cut me a piece at the mall. This answered all my questions. Thanks.

Very informative video ❤. Thanks.
Thank you soooo much. Best video I ever found to reproduce my Schefflera.
Thank You!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 a wonderful video
I just purchased one hopefully it won't get that tall. They r pretty shiny plant very attractive would buy another one.👍
Is propagating Schefflera only successful with new growth or can it be done with older (and bigger more like a branch) woody cuttings?
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Very nice👍
Great video! Thanks a lot!!!
Amazing!!! 🤩

My cuttings have failed every time . In which month cutting should planted
Amazing 🤩
What was the rooting soil in the glass on the left? - seems to have given the best results. Tks

So where do I get my pods from and directions to grow
Would this work on a woody stem as well?
Yes exactly what I'm trying to find out too.
Can i propagate using 1 leaf only? Will it grow different stems after rooting?
i might be late but a single leaf cutting can root and sustain itself but it will not give new shoots !
So where do I go for direction on how to do this and buy my pods????? Darlene. Usa
I love❤️
Can you please tell me artist of soundtrack!!!❤ also great content!
Hvala❤
Which month is best for pruning and cutting propogation?please let me know.
I don’t have preferred time because i’m propagating indoor with controlled environment. But, you can better propagate during the beginning of summer time.
great luck
A quelle période vous avez eteté la plante sheffera et les bouturer s'il vous plaît, merci de me répondre
He puesto tantos esquejes así en agua y simplemente NO me da resultado xq?
Great video! May o ask why you cut off some leaves at day 20?
nothing special actually its just because it won’t fit well on my mini greenhouse .

Hi are you using bottled water or tap?
just tap water
@@thegreenearth thank you for responding
Sara Domun, bonjour à quelle période vous avez coupé et bouturer, s'il vous plaît, merci de me répondre
Yo this video was cool as fuck, much appreciated!
How often did you change the water?
I just change when it is cloudy already and refill when it is about to dry.
Does the cutting of the plant need a leaf or can it just be the node and it will grow from just the stem?
I haven’t tried that, but for more success I would suggest to propagate with leaf and node.
Good video but why do presenters add distracting background music ? Can turn volume off but won’t know if they do speak in a portion of the video.
mine still hasnt grown roots and is slowly rotting!!!!
Do you have any update for those trees.
sorry i don’t have we already migrated
which songs are playing in the background :)?
sorry I don’t remember, but all of my songs are coming from epidemic sound
... warm temp and indirect sun is best ... zone 6 here ... say ... how do you top the growing new indoor tree ? ...
sorry what do you mean by top the growing new indoor tree? How do I prune them?
The ones where it's basically only one leaf are not going to grow into plants. It's just that leaf forever.
That's not how it works. Plants regularly replace leaves.
The video even shows shoots growing from the single leaf cuttings.
Sadly I have no luck with this I’ve been trying for months now
So where do I learn how to plant this way and how do I order? Darleneusa
Sta je bre ovo?
...
No mention of media used. Music irritates. Subtitles too small. Verdict- video not good at all.
Thanks for the good content i like the propagation of plants🌱
