    Honest review, I have mine for almost a week now and I really like it, big upgrade from my GT DDPro. Especially the pedals (Invicta S), but of course the wheelbase is a big step forward. The wheel itself exceeded my expectations, I feared it would feel far more plasticlike, but the compount-material is high quality, no flex, no cracking noises. The buttons are well placed, thumb encoders feel great, even with gloves. The pedals are feeling great, braking is easy, especially trail braking.
    About the e-stop: You can very easily swap that with a classical yellow-box-red-button-killswitch e-stop, you just have to leave the wire for the LED blind, should also work. But I wouldn't do it, I think the Asetek solution works perfectly and honestly: If something happens, the wheel oscillates like crazy, than you should already have your hands off. And at this point it doesn't matter if you can smash a classical e-stop or gently push the Asetek FFB-off-button. E-stops are meant for machinery to be halted as fast as possible to prevent damage on persons and machine. But if you sit in your rig, you already have to be perfectly safe, if you put your hands off the wheel. Otherwise, if you can get hurt on your legs for example, you should reconsider the adjustment of your rig and wheelbase.
    But I get what you mean, it just has this industrial machinery thing going with a classical red mushroom-button to be triggered with a simple flat hand smack... I get it^^.

    thanks for the review. I recently sold my simucube 2 pro and purchased the invicta... i just like the direction they went with the invicta, improved the simucube in the places it really needed improving like the QR needing power. I also think they have an exciting future when it comes to wheel manufacturers getting in on their ecosystem natively, i really like that.
    I know i took a big risk selling the simucube and i wouldn't recommend people actually do that because the simucube is proven reliable hardware, the Asetek bases ofcourse are not so its a wild risk, who knows when bad things could happen but for me ive had my eyes on Asetek for a long time, ever since they got that IP purchase i knew good things were coming that wont ever come to the simucube.
    I dont actually have my invicta yet, they are taking their time with shipping but i expect it in a week or 2.

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  Рік тому +1

      Well said, hope you get yours soon I am certain you are going to be very happy with it. Just on point of simucube I still consider them to be one of the best on the market even after 3 years of selling the simucube 2.
      I think the technology has improved so much on wheelbases that it will be very hard to create something that would blow you away if you are already used to a high end direct drive 🤷🏼‍♂️ the changes are going to be slow and incremental going forward and Asetek has done that well 👍🏻

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  Рік тому +1

      The front mount is solid and looks good but having to take your buttons out of their casings then having fragile exposed wires not the best for sure.
      SimCore makes amazing mounts and I’m sure they will make one for Asetek soon, yes little more pricey but if you have to fork out $150 already then another $50 more will go a long way.
      See if you can perhaps bottom mount yours for a month or 2 I’m sure by then most rig manufacturers will have a solution for the Asetek bases 👍🏻

    Absolutely agree about the e-stop, should be a big red button which you or someone next to you can hit in a panic situation.... Asetek have gone asthetics over safety. Which is odd because asthetics were not considered for the forte wheel.
    Anyway can't wait for mine to arrive!

    Great review. I just ordered the Asetek Invicta S bundle with the added clutch. I think there doing a great job, and also the videos from André gives me confident in the way they're heading. I'm coming from a Fanatec Formula DD with the V3 pedals because I played on the console and that was the only option at the time. But since I'm switching to iracing I have more options to choose from. It was Asetek Invicta or the Simucube 2 Pro. I know that the Simucube is tried and tested and proven it's quality, but I wanted to give Asetek a chance as the new kid on the block. I hope I did make the right choice but time will tell. I hope to receive the goods tomorrow. Amazing, just 2 days delivery time from Denmark to The Netherlands....

    It is still possible to take 3rd part wheels with an adapter. Dave Cam shows that in his last video. And in the Future you can buy Cube and GSI and Asher Wheels with direkt connection to Asetek Bases without cable.

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  Рік тому

      Yes I have heard that they will be releasing 2 different adapters one with usb and one that I assume has no power but just allows you to put on any steering wheel u like.
      I have no idea when they will be released thou I have seen big UA-camrs with them already so cant imagine it will be much longer 👍🏻

I actually only ordered the Invicta base then I got a email from Asetek asking if I want to buy the forte wheel other wise I won’t be able to use the base 🤔 might be clever from their side getting sales in first however I am only making assumptions.

    Is there anyway you can get me some help? I have the forte bundle and my DD will randomly power off and then on. It’s not usb side because when I pull that power is on the base. I think it’s from psu side. Asetek says they can’t see any errors in the log. So I just said let me get a refund then. Now they’re saying I can’t

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  5 місяців тому

      Sorry to hear that matey normally Asetek customer service very good. I have never experienced any of these issues myself. When you say power off does all lights go off on base if yes then must be a power issue if lights stay on but you lose power that could be usb.

      Hey, yes I’m South African but reside in the UK. From what I hear from family it will be more challenging to have electric to run your rig rather than sourcing the product 😂
      Check digital-motorsports.com/ I have zero affiliation with them but I believe they offer free international shipping till end of this month (March) would not surprise me if there is a big list of countries that this does not apply to thou 🤷🏼‍♂️

    I have a dd1... Tempted to upgrade to sc2 or Invicta. What do?

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  Рік тому

      Hey Andrew coming from a dd1 either the Asetek or simucube will be a nice upgrade. I do think that Asetek has a few bits more to offer, but at this moment you can only use the Asetek wheels, they will be releasing a QR so you can use other wheels on it but as of yet there is no timeframe as to when it will be released. I am actually back on my simucube and I won’t be selling it until I know I can use other wheels on the Asetek base.
      I would suggest waiting two months especially since you already have a direct drive base. Sorry, but at this moment I can’t give you a clear answer, I can say thou that the details from either Asetek or Simucube will be a big improvement from the fanatec dd1 😉

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  Рік тому

      Yes they use a motor from simucube however they still have to put everything together them self and the electronics that operate the motor & data output that’s interpreted by that motor. 100% when testing the bases they feel similar but not the same either. I know it’s a silly answer but that’s what it is 🤷🏼‍♂️
