Fully charge Tomtom few hours. To do hard reset try to press and hold power button for a 30-40seconds... Device should reboot . To do any updates and make Tomtom recognisable by any laptop use a good USB cable. Poor quality cable cause problems..
If your still struggling to get it up and going try the tomtom recovery mode, plug in ur device and press down the power button till you get white text on the screen, the moment u get that screen click the power button 3 times, then a spinning wheel or a plug in symbol will pop up which then u plug into ur laptop and my drive automatically fixes the corrupted files. You need to change the battery, i had the same problem.

The best advice I can give you about tomtom do not purchase.Beware that tomtom is not at all compatible with anything iOS.
tomtom is riddled with problems and their customer service is even worse.
