mike mills is so underrated here in australia, he has a massive vocal range and is an incredible instrumentalist

The female singer in the beginning is Maggy Luyten (from Belgium).

This song is from Ayreon ninth studio album "The Source", prequel to album "01011001" .
This DVD is awesome , absolute fire performance by everyone 🤘🔥🤘. And to see Floor with her younger sister Irene on the same stage , is absolutely magical 🥰.
And,...Mike Mills is playing a computer A.I. "TH-1" ( that's why the appearance is weird).

Ginger, Mike Mills plays the part of TH 1, which is an android. Hence the headwear with all the wires coming from it. You could say it’s a Floor reunion on stage with her sister Irene, tallest backup singer and Joost van den Broek on keyboards. He was part of After Forever (Floor’s 1st group) for a while. Ayreon is such a brilliant composer, absolutely great song. Love it. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺
TH1 is also referenced in the binary code piece in "The Day The World Brakes Down" where Mike Mills "sings" 01110100 01110010 01110101 01110011 01110100 01010100 01001000 00110001 which "translates" into "Trust TH1"

The amount of pure female vocal talent on that stage at one time is beyond staggering. Aryeon's Angels - the backup singers: Marcela Bovia, Lisette van den Berg and Irene Jansen, along with character roles - Maggi Luyten and Floor, are all lead singers in very successful bands. The fact that all these incredible voices lend their skills to Arjen's projects, along with Anneke van Giersbergen, is testimony of his sheer brilliance of composition. The number of layers on this song is mind blowing. I smiled when Ginger mentioned "they shouldn't be so happy about it." It's one of Arjen's mechanisms, the juxtaposition of expectation. In "The Day When The World Breaks Down", during James LaBrie's part in the beginning, when he sings "when death descends," the note ascends as he sings "descends." He is a master of taking you where you are not expecting to go. I hear moments of Gilbert and Sullivan in the quick and very difficult lyrics, words being sung so quickly that it almost becomes a tongue twister - I cannot image the rehearsal sessions and learning the precision necessary to perform at the level they delivered. Only singers of the absolutely highest quality could pull this song off, and it is indeed proof these ladies are the very best of the best!!
And men. Don't be a separatist.

Everyone Dies on the album follows the opening song The day that the world breaks down on the album the same people sing but in the Live version only 4 of the 11 are there but they have Magali Luyton as a guest and back ups Irene Jansen (Floors sister), Lisette van den berg, and Marcela Bovio
Can't wait to have the live registration of the September 2023 concert. This song is in it, also Anneke, Maggy, Lisette, Irene and Marcela. Floor couldn't, but is replaced by Brittney Slays, a worthy one. And Michael Mills was there, and Tommy.

Ginger has the right of it. To quote Sgt Lopez of the Mars Congressional Republic; "My great uncle emigrated from Earth. He missed it terribly. When you spend your whole life living under a dome, even the idea of an ocean seems impossible to imagine." - The Expanse (Highly recommend for those who haven't seen it)
This is the song you have to listen to several times to really start appreciating everything that´s going on. And I promise you that you won´t be able to stop replaying after that. ;) A song that´s very hard to get bored of.
Guys, you need to do "The two gates (Universe)" Where Irene introduces the band mid song.

From the same concert you should really check out Comatose, Day 11 : Love and Valley of the Queens. You won't be disappointed.
Talk of the dangers of space put me in mind of "Fire fire" by Steam Powered Giraffe. The most upbeat song I know about dying in space..
Thoughts of lies (not new lies, but the oldest ones) and resisting, sent me back to Draconian - "Ascend into Darkness" - the finale of that album. I recommend the lyric video by Taylant Şahin - his visuals are very much in keeping with proper Draconian videos.
You can almost detect every influence of prior groups that Mr. Luccason Is drew from here with this production.. Emerson lake and Palmer yes Queen Flash Gordon album, Kansas Left over your album... Others.. Maryland Manson... even Meatloaf with the the male/female interplay.
If you remember the story in The day that the world breaks they had allowed the computers too much control and they took over Alpha the world they were on and everyone dies follows it up on the album where they have come to grips with the realization anyone who stays will be dead the captain in the other song was ready with a ship they could take to the stars Michael Mills in the 1st song kept calling the ship Starblade

All singers there are amazing, love Floor specially but damn Michael Mills has a ridiculous voice.
There's no air up there, that's true. And even more importantly, there's no air under water, and yet our heroes plan on moving to an ocean world, and living beneath the waves. So they invent a drug called "Liquid Eternity" that allows them to evolve gills (well, they call it evolution, but it's not, because the same 10 people and 1 robot who leave their dying planet are the ones populating the ocean planet, and so it's more of a rapid mutation - for it to be evolution it would have to be their descendants who became fish people). Kind of a convoluted way to survive an apocalypse, but I guess their technological advancement has outpaced their common sense.

'Everybody Dies' is more or less true. There have only been two exceptions so far - Enoch and Elijah. The Rapture will account for millions more, perhaps only a few decades away IMHO.
Metal music has become such a stage and costumes production for the worst, this is why metal bands like Metallica live on forever because they just play the music with no theactrics
Metallica havn't been any good in 30+ years. They can't even perform their songs at the right tempo etc
Ayreon albums have always been great, and these few live performances they do are awesome. Ayreon has had a longer GOOD career than Metallica has
