Can somebody please get us in touch with the Navy pilot who I believe bailed from his F/A-18 and it continued flying away. Several gave happened when the arresting cable snapped so they bail all to watch the jet fly away. Keep in mind the weight of the pilot / Seat + back seater could be enough weight to make the difference. When your on the edge of any envelope every lb counts.
lol "ill just walk away and find a payphone" i can only imagine THAT conversation-- 'hey, Captain, could you give me a ride home...?' ("werent you sent there with a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art Flying Weapon??") '...yeah, my plane decided to go home without me...' ("it WHAT?! [sigh] okay, im getting my keys...")

Watching your head movement is crazy interesting. Leftover reactions from the forces and practiced scanning etc. but now your looking at a screen. Fascinating

i have the thrustmaster warthog as well and haven't found a control scheme setup guide that's worked for me. any advice on how you got all your controls mapped out?

YES that's exactly how i felt lol
Until you get VR, think about mapping the view zoom keys to your HOTAS. Will allow you a lot better PID until you get a chance to read the DCS F-15 manual on IFF (it's open source info laid out in detail right in the manual).

Well tbh he’s probably just horsing around also, he couldn’t exactly use all the tactics he was taught to use irl bc well ya know.. not giving real actually used bfm dog fighting tactics away is a good idea. Plus the Strike Eagle turns like a pig anyways, it’s a terrible dog fighter at heart. Decent at BVR engagements tho.
