Pinellas County Sheriff's saved my life officers do not get the appreciation admiration that they deserve thank you for protecting our community I don't think that you hear that enough ❤
Ron DeSantis needs to make this a state law, with even tougher penalties.
It won’t matter. Oh you get a warning for running. So scary.
I support our Sheriff's initiative in keeping our community safe
Great press conference.
Excellent!
I hate it when an innocent party gets injured and/or killed. PCSO has a good pursuit policy and adding this on is perfect. I wish other agencies (FHP) would look into adopting the PCSO policy.
Just watch Georgia pursuits. craziness.
Thank you Sherriff Gualtieri!!!! I live in Pinellas and am thankful for this initiative.
I agree with this action
This NEEDS TO BE A NATIONAL LAW
Oh yes. Another law!! That'll do it. That'll make people follow the law. Give me a break
People wouldn't be running from you if they thought there wasn't a high chance of getting a beat down or a poor man tax that they cannot afford
It's pretty sickening how you don't even acknowledge the fact that cops sit on the side of the road and extort money from the people who can afford it the least
You all get off on fining us into the poor house and then fining us for being poor
It's really disgusting
They should spend some time in jail too.
Like 364 days.
It won’t work but good luck.
Great idea! New revenue stream and a reason to be accountable. I never realized that you didn't chase here until you just said the stats. No wonder this is such a beautiful place to live. Don't run from the cops people. What if that was YOUR loved one in that Ambulance on the way to get a life saving transplant!? C'mon, time to grow up. If you can drive, you are old enough to know better.
I miss the Pinellas county of the 90s. Pinellas and Tampa Bay, has been ruined with the influx of people moving here since 2020.
i do remember those days. I miss the lady hot dog vendors in thongs. those were the golden days
You my friend are 100% right
Especially the leftists. They need to go.
St Pete and Tampa was so nice in the sixties growing up.
This is my county and we've been waiting for this to happenn
Sounds like the sheriff is going to have a fleet of scat packs after this
This is awesome. A perfect way not to chase and find them later in a lot of cases. Money goes to good causes, we all win ! Well unless your the dumbass that decides to flee. I'm guessing they will also lose the right to drive for a time, extra charges and the insurance costs will go up. This all works me me ! Thank you for all that you guys do !!
@daverubin keep Florida great forever
My italian grangran father was Gualtieri, im from brazil, i have all family tree of gualtieri
Does your department follow the rules? When you guys lead by example I'm pretty sure everybody else will follow
Tim. We gotta go be highway patrol in florida.
HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YEAH
RIP Paternoster.
The FHP will do the high speed chase in Pinellas County.
Flee the police, lose your car. Seems reasonable to me when you decide to play GTA 3 on the public streets.
Everyone correctly predicted a decade ago that overly restrictive pursuit policies would lead to this epidemic. Those who choose to commit felonies aren't going to be compliant citizens when you reward them by allowing them to flee. You can't deny that. In reality they will be serving a lot of notices and accomplishing little as the vehicles fleeing are generally not owned by the person operating it and will have no effect on stolen cars or cars with no tags or tags not assigned. Once they get done paying fees to file forfeiture for vehicles not worth it, this may not last long. Notice he didnt mention much about arrests because they practically have no criminal case once the vehicle gets out of sight without video evidence of the driver to recover so they are resorting to civil forfeiture where the standard of proof is lower. News flash... agencies have been seizing felons cars for years for fleeing and eluding. The only difference may be Pinellas actually has a written policy in place making the process mandatory as part of the investigative process. You never hear of agencies adopting new technologies to reduce pursuit risks like traffic light preemption that would practically eliminate the risks of intersection crashes. GPS trackers and other things exist to make pursuits less necessary but why bother with those when you can have a press conference about the possibility of seizing a car if you ever find it.
Someone find him and tell him to sit down with me.
I love Donnie Freeman. Is he ok?
The cops shouldn't chase people over a traffic stop.
so only punish those foolish enough to comply?
@@daschmidtz The cops will only get the suspect later. Pulling over can save everyone hassle later.
@josephryan3597 Maybe 1 out of 10 times, certainly less than 4 times out of 10. Rental cars, stolen cars, unregistered cars, cars with the wrong tag attached, stolen tags, people that dont live local, lying/obstructing co-consporators make the case fairly difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt without catching the driver in the act. Plus you lose all the other things they may be running for.
Okay and what do i do when car gets stolen and they run do you sell my car when its STOLEN
Something they are taking advantage of is the company bet they don't try that with hertz 😂😂😂😂
Sir. I need gas money. And an oil change. Then the Mali-wagon wants to come to town. With puppies. Heyo oorah.
Who is Joe todino?
Thank god i dont live there. Try to illegally take my vehicle you will end up in a massive lawsuit for violating rights and theft. Plus, dare you to try as most of us are lawfully 2A. Ill go to prison for a gunfight before i allow you to illegally steal my vehicle.
Or was it cappeletti. I dont remember. Tall bald guy. Clearly. Italian. My best friend is Tim Miller. Of weaver police. He is the Otis to my Milo.
A whole family dies a week after they run?
11 criminal organizations
And wish
Tim. Wanna be president of the united states with me?
You want to be republican or the democrat?
Why is a 70 yr old getting a transplant?
why not?? we still have famiIies who want more ye a rs with us.
Because they can , Karen
Because that’s probably someone’s grandparent. And that person deserves to live as long as they want. My grandma is 94, does she not deserve medical care because of her age?
There should be a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years for felony fleeing
With enough discussion, yes. I think that is something worth considering. A reckless driver really should not be viewed too differently than a reckless firearm holder.
Heres an idea, stop fuckin chasing people. Boom. Problem solved.
@@beakandsnout2813 maybe you missed the conference. Not chasing them is exactly what has led to daily fleeing and eluding without consequence.
