That's not a "Country" Song. Neither is, "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavor On The Bedpost Overnight" But, "Get Your Tongue Out of My Mouth Cause I'm Kissing You Goodbye" and "I'm My Own Grandpa" both are.
The first episode of 'The Outer Limits' (Galactic Being) got me interested. I had build a radio from a kit on my 8th birthday, and I discovered WSM that night, in 1960 but that TV episode was set in a real radio station. I was an engineer at a US Army radio & TV station at 21. One evening our DJ had made some snide comments about Country Music. He nly played hard rock, and said "I won't play that shit kicking music on my show!"I put him off the air until he agreed to play 'Foggy Mountain Breakdown' before I turned the transmitter back on. He played it one more time, the day I was processing out of the Army. That time he said, "This is for the best Engineer that I've served with."
@VelvetPlatz, is that the Tennessee Bird walk song? Where the birds all lost their feathers and "You can see them walking Southward in their dirty underwear-that's the Tennessee birdwalk". I loved that song!
Little Jimmy Dickens’ “Take an old cold tater and wait” and “May the bird of paradise fly up your nose”. Most everything of Roger Miller, a lot of John Prine, and everything of Lester “Road Hog” Moran and his Cadillac Cowboys!
Roger Miller could fill this list. Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd, Dang Me, Chug aLug, My Uncle Used to Love Me But She Died, Best of All Possible Worlds all should be on this list.
What?! No " I'm my own grandpa" ?! There's hundreds that could fit on this list. Ray Stevens and Cledus T Judd specialized in them. Bobby Bare and Jerry Reed did a lot. David Allen Coe had some that weren't really family friendly. I think my favorite was from a guy out a Texas named Kevin Fowler, "don't touch my Willie"
Who remembers Kenny Price’s ‘The Shortest Song In The World’? By number of air plays it might have been one of the most popular records of all time. The DJ’s would play it to fill up a short gap before a commercial, news break, station I.D., or signing off.
I would not doubt that. The key is if the DJ's logged it when they played it. I do know that when I used to do the news we would always look for long songs or those that duration was a number like 3:00, 4:00 or even 3:30!

These are great, but there are so many. Here’s a few honorable mentions. First off sticking with the 420 friendly theme is “Wildwood weed” by Jim Stafford. Then there’s “My Girl Bill” also by Jim Stafford. And finally, “One Piece at a Time” by Johnny Cash!

Its more subtle, but I thought of John Conlee's 'I dont remember loving you.' It's definitely crazy. I also immediately thought of ' You're the reason our kids are ugly.' Nice list.
I always liked "I'd rather have a bottle in front of than a frontal lobotomy". Also Ray Stevens' "Get your tongue out of my mouth (I'm kissing you goodbye)".
I didn't know the Cash, Overstreet, or Willie Nelson songs but I did know the others. What about Tony Nichols song I Got Drunk And Slapped Me A Midget?

Thank you so much. I facilitate a Music and Memories class for people with dementia and their caregivers. My clients are 36-100 years old. Next week I'm going to have the theme crazy and play some of these songs.
That is absolutely wonderful Laurie. I really hope they not only enjoy it but it brings back some great memories! If they really get into it, show them the other episodes from all the years of music history starting in 1940! I would love to do a video chat with all of them one day if you feel it's appropriate! Have fun!
@@CountryMusicTimeMachine oh my gosh Im sure they would love it. I will let you know.
"You're The Strangest Thing I Ever Fell In Love With" written and performed by Aaron Lawrence 1982. Never made the top 40, but was hilarious! 🤣🤣 And so true! 🎉😆🤣
Boy Named Sue was written by Shel Silverstein and performed by Johnny Cash 1969, Queen Of My Double Wide Trailer written by Dennis Linde and performed by Sammy Kershaw 1993, and (my favorite) Thank God And Greyhound You're Gone written by Larry Kingston and John Edward Nix, the song was released in 1970 and made famous by Roy Clark.
None of these involved Alan Jackson in any way!
A lot of those are coming in the other episodes. Thanks for watching!
Rodney Carrington "Don't Look Now ( Mama's Got Her Boobs Out)
Gheez, that's crazy. I will look for that one!
I WAS GROWLING UP WITH COUNTRY MUSIC 🎶
No country song is a dumb song. I love country music that much. I’m howling in laughter at your jokes too LOL
I'm glad you enjoy it. I got more coming.
Finally Friday- George Jones
The Lone Ranger - George Jones

The King is Gone and So Are You-George Jones
Love George Jones ❤❤

3rd Rock from the Sun
Dixie Chicks "Goodbye Earl"
When I was little back in the early 70's, my uncle played a song. Moma don't whop little Bufford.
Agree easily half of Roger Miller's discography would make an excellent Crazy Country song video, but a long one !!!
John Denver " please daddy dont get drunk this christmas"
Many of Ray Stevens' songs were crazy country songs. That's what he was mostly known for.
Yep. He will be on every episode.
Its more subtle, but I thought of John Conlee's 'I dont remember loving you.' It's definitely crazy. I also immediately thought of ' You're the reason our kids are ugly.' Nice list.
Little old shack,out back
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor...
Asleep At The Wheel
David Allen Coe- You Never Called Me By My Name ❤ Best country song ever written
I love country music but until now I heard these songs before, but until now I’ve these are funny. I’m here laughing.
Glad you like it!
I always liked "I'd rather have a bottle in front of than a frontal lobotomy".
Also Ray Stevens' "Get your tongue out of my mouth (I'm kissing you goodbye)".
Excellent choices!
Juniors in love by joe diffe should have been a single, it's hilarious
I quite enjoy all of those songs.
I do too. I will try to release another episode with more songs this weekend. There are so many good ones.
One of my favorites is sug by Jim Wood, it's called "Liquored Up Pickeem Up Truck"
I’m starting to remember these. They were so funny. And Jerry Reed was cute.
I didn't know the Cash, Overstreet, or Willie Nelson songs but I did know the others. What about Tony Nichols song I Got Drunk And Slapped Me A Midget?
Mr custard, Muleskinner blues, cant rollerskate in a buffalo herd, does your chewing gum lose it's flavor, 10 little bottles, little arrows, sneaky snake.
Great choices. Rollerskate in a buffalo herd has been mentioned a lot.
You Can’t Rollerskate In A Buffalo heard by Rodger Miller, my grandpa would sing and play his songs in the tractor all the time when I was a kid, and at 86 he still does. We let him run the combine this year and I decided to go ride take a ride with him and he sang King Of The Road
Great story. Buffalo is coming in episode 4!
3 of those I never heard and I would add The Bird and When You're Hot , Your Hot by Jerry Reed
Jerry Reed is an icon!
Sixteen chickens and a tambourine 😂
Can't find I don't want to go home by Bobby Bare very funny
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head by BJ Thomas?
