Wow. Remember this back in Aus. From humble beginnings, who would've thought back then, this was the guy who would become the most powerful vocalist in Australia.
Me, just watching this. You can hear the power in his timbre! His prowess would develop over 20 yrs, but you can deff hear it here !! Now compare this with ua-cam.com/video/XAX4tLaDcao/v-deo.html :))))
@@jondunmore4268 Hi Jon, I agree. Farnsy is such a cool guy on stage. He was always best live! Raconteur and comedian! ....popping off hits with incredible power almost as an afterthought. This found clip is a treasure for the intro to his "backing band" (MSO), and for seeing them have so much impish fun too. "Fun with Farnsy 1988", it should be renamed :)))).
JOHNNY Farnham Sadie loved the song loved music as well Johnny thank you sharing it loved the movie at the cinemas as well 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I’m 16 and love this song, mainly because my mum was very sick in hospital and dad was always working, so me and my brothers were with nan and pop, and they love johny farnham sadly pop passed in 2013 by cancer so johny does comfort a lot.. also very catchy ahahah people my age think I’m a freak..
The first record I ever bought! (8 years old). Great voice from the start (the B-side which John wrote was actually quite good too). As of 2023, John's had a massive health battle so hope he's doing as well as can be. Still got that old 45rpm sitting somewhere out in the garage.
I remember Sadie, thinking about it now, it’s like who’d sing about a cleaning lady? But back then, I thought it was wonderful and I loved Johnny Farnham he was my hero. I, and other girls my age our heats beat with fervour and we’d have died if he’d ever spoken to us. Ah what it is to be young.
JOHNNY Farnham always love him very handsome through his life love his music songs as well Sadie love you always Johnny 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Johnny Farnham and his cleaning lady song remind me of being a British emigrant arriving in Australia with my wife and two small children in November 1965 and living on a migrant hostel in Lindfield the north Shore suburb of Sydney then purchasing a Block of land and having our first three-bed brick- veneer home built.
I'd never heard the 2nd song "In My Room" before. To my mind it is actually the better of the two songs, though obviously not as catchy as Sadie was. It also really shows his voice much better and gives very strong hints of just how great his voice really is. Thanks for uploading this NZOZ.
Absolutely. You can hear much more of 80s+ Farnsey in the second song. So much so I would actually have been interested to hear him sing this at his 80s peak.
🔹️ I was only 1½ years old then, so obviously I only saw that in the 1970s (probably from a videotape). As for the 2nd song, I had no idea it even existed & have never heart that b4. This is a very pleasant surprise from the vaults ❕👀👍❗
How did anyone think this crass, rudiculous song would be a good first record for such a talented 18 yr old. Granted, there quite a number of joke songs in the 60's, but Sadie was just absurd, though I remember it was a hit. Bizarre, looking at this now. Such an amazing talent, who is still singing now at 71.
Not Denise Drysdale. It's One of the Shirley Regan Dancers who were always on Bandstand. Going by a 1968 edition where they are introduced each by name, we know her name is Caralyn, that's about it, but she appeared pretty much from 1965 onwards Bandstand wise.
He was a teen here, try listening to his adult career, his voice will knock your socks off. Muchhhhh better than Elvis and I'm an Elvis fan. Listen to Youre the Voice, Age of Reason, When something is wrong with my baby, Take the Pressure Down

@@MsLizziebeth1 -- Cool link! What unlimited power in his shouts, and then down to singing the song in tune, in such a low range.

More powerful than Jimmy barnes? Doubt it
@@psychedelicprawncrumpets9479 -- Barnesy is a screamer. Farnsy is a vocalist's vocalist.
my husband posted this, because your name is Sadie and you love Australian old song.

You are not a freak. And I love you for appreciating this music at such a tender age.
We're never too young to enjoy great musicians.
Same Brian Henderson who read the news in Sydney I recall, RIP Brian.

Good onya Johnny. Never was a fan myself but I still appreciate everything you did for us Aussies.
A plumber from Melbourne Australia who until now is humble and kind. In March 2019 he had to cancel a tour. John would have been the saddest.
Look at that clean young face. I remember both songs, in my 60’s now, how the time flys.

To those who don't like this, you're taste in music sucks! This is a good happy uplifting song. Try hearing not listening. 😎
Bravo! Well said 🌞
So sad, now he ill with mouth cancer. Please recover Johnny, you are well loved
Good song John
Has anyone forgot "Commotion"? That's what they are dancing in those days, that is 'Commotion'. (2:42).
Johnny did a concert at our high school. As did Zoot!!!
Get well soon, John Farnham! 😃👍
I love this songs, at school, in games my name is alway 'Sadie the cleaning lady' because of this song!
Cant imagine this to be the Wagnerrock Tenor of Youre the voice

I had this record but my brother lost it. In my room was a beautiful song. Should have been released later on without Sadie.
A classic
100% Legend!
Off is around. I took the bit. A 15 minute cleaning job. It wob't break me. Your naps are in each room.
How gorgeous is he

Sounds like Peter Noon from Herman’s Hermits
Poor Nan. She was the best.
If John had of had a dance coreographer he would have really taken off 🧐
