***Can-Am X3 Crash***

  • We got called out for a Can-Am X3 side-by-side That had been involved in a crash with another side by side.
The crash left the side-by-side disabled due to the fact that it tore the entire left rear wheel and suspension system off the frame.
We were able to load it on the off-road trailer and head back out. But that’s when we ran into trouble.
The sand was very dry, and we had a pretty good wind blowing the last few days. This made the same and very soft and difficult to drive through.
We made it to a critical point that was going to be difficult to traverse, and I made a decision to go on the right left of the dune instead of the right. This proved to be a mistake.
I became stuck after a few minutes and had to be rescued by another off-roader.
It got dark on us, but we made it to the drop off location, and got back in time for dinner.

That is some of the wickedest sand known to man kind! Good job on the recovery and being cool enough to show "the stuck". Anyone and I mean anyone could and would of had trouble pulling a trailer thru that mess. Thanks for the videos.

Ive had to be towed out of a trailer lot after dropping a trailer and a few minutes of rain turned the top quarter inch of soft dirt into mud on top of the hard packed earth that made it impossible for my Freightliner tractor to get traction to move anywhere. I tried everything. It’s amazing how easy it is for a big rig to get stuck where there isn’t any load.

Seriously, these sport side by sides make off roading so much more dangerous than it used to be. Everyone thinks they are a rally driver in one of those and hauls a** everywhere. There needs to be a much better education and licensing system to drive them. Same thing with 300hp Sea Doos...

@Carolus Magnus hey, I love those things, I just thing there are too many inexperienced off road drivers out there who think they can go as fast as they can, everywhere. I ride dirt bikes and these things are making it way more dangerous for us.

I have to say you have a great sense of humor. Love the dogs, Lady and Sam. Old country/farm woman (too old for girl, now) enjoying all your videos. My younger family has gone of ATV rides for years here in southwest Arkansas along the Red River. Lots of sand, and on forest trails with huge deep mud pools. That's their idea of off road, boggy wet woodland with no road. They do more wet riding as you all do dry. They come home covered in mud, and sometimes pictures of alligators. Daddy used to say that a 4x4 was only good to get you stuck, but my boys believe in 4x4's with Warn Wenches on strong bumpers and a tractor when necessary. As you said, good old boys help each other out. Anyway, I am enjoying your videos and the view of Utah, Nevada, and Colorado that I hope some day I get to see in person. It has it's own beauty and I get to feel as if I am watching home movies of family having fun while working. Don't change your ways at all, you are REAL, not scripted or pretend or made up to please, just plain honesty. Thank you so much.

I’ve watched a number of your videos, and I find the work so interesting. Each situation looks unique, with, I’m sure, infinite possibilities. It also looks challenging and fun, reading the terrain and deciding how to proceed, and then executing it. I really also like how you own-and show-your mistakes. I’m totally hooked!

Once in awhile it's a good idea to scout a possible route on foot prior to driving into a particular section or area. (1) It's good to see that even an expert--a highly qualified expert--can get stuck (when towing a heavy trailer off-road in extremely fine sand); (2) You are honest and admitted your mistakes. No cover-up attempted. My suggestion is don't go into politics. You're too honest for that! Thank you for another interesting video!
