I dealt with Karens for decades when I was in retail and service industries (we just called them bitches at the time), they just go around trying to find things to complain about. When I was in photofinishing business, if you outright GAVE them their photos for free because THEY said the color was off a little, they would STILL stand there and raise hell for every bit of 20 minutes. Among the ones I knew well enough to know about their home life, I could see patterns-they rarely worked, and they never had to work with the public. If they were married, they usually had husbands who only knew "yes, dear" as a response to anything and everything they said, and kids who were afraid to speak at all. If they were divorced, they spent most of their public and private lives bitching about what assholes their ex-husbands were, and seeing lawyers to try to find ways of getting more alimony so they would never have to work. They certainly do not represent the majority of women, but I am glad that the world in general has started to recognize that they exist. They were THE most unreasonable people I ever dealt with. Grumpy old men could be tough, but they were just trying to negotiate a better deal, and would STOP raising hell as soon as they got it, plus they would never say anything about anything unless they had a personal stake in it. The Karens just hated everyone and everything, for no damn reason.
Yep... and in a lot of ways, those monsters were/are created... they were/are rewarded for their ridiculous behavior..... the frikin managers and business owners of the world, always bowing down to them....

I can recall when I was in the hotel industry, and if we had a complaint, the manager would basically say "If they raise hell about it, give them a discount", and/or "If they REALLY raise a LOT of hell about it, give them their room for free." I was in middle management, and could see the problem with this- it gave people monetary incentive to complain.
They had a reason. They needed a little love if you know what I mean
They seem to be increasing as a percentage of the population in the last couple of decades...
