I lived in California for a couple years and this one time I asked a girl how old she was. She replied, “my spirit and my essence are eternal”. So I countered, “Ok, how long has your physical presence been here upon this earth?” She looked at me, stunned, and said “Damn no one’s ever gotten me with that before. I’m 22.”
I think restaurant business' in Southern California need to be part of the "price gauging" investigation going on, because they swear they put gold in their food with these F ing prices!!!
My aunt and her close friend left Philly for LA about 35yrs ago. My grandparents and I went down to visit shortly after. At 6yrs old I remembered feeling like it really was a different world... 8yrs later I went to see her, my cousin, & my uncle who both were blooming architects at the time & living in the hills. Point being, this is a very accurate depiction of the transformation of everyone that stays.
I didn’t know LA had a Cafe Gratitude! 😂. I can recall a time I sat in ye olde Berkeley Cafe Gratitude and said those menu item names as if my future depended on it. 😂😂😂 (So embarrassed to admit that!!). Very well done.
You are my new favorite sketch comedian! Your facial expressions and tone add soooo much to the skits. This skit hit too close to home; I feel like everyone I know who has ever moved to LA went through this exact experience :D
Yup it's been a while since my last LA trip, perhaps I'll visit again - and then leave. Sounds crazier than ever- good ole' bat shit crazy LA never disappoints. You're still my favorite nut Nikki! Love your content!
I ate there once with my girlfriend. Our waiter was Thyme. He recommended the Chiken. Not bad...tasted like Chicken. Lunch for the two of us was $320, pretty reasonable for L.A.
@@duhni4551 for gold-wrapped borderline-extinction animals served with some exotic plants made by a well-known chef with the whole meal only weighing 4 oz (but it has fancy sauces in a wavy pattern) is a bargain. I mean who wouldn't want to pay that price for such a meal. Lol
Shit Brent ! That was fkn awesome! Love y’all’s skits!! ❤😂. I envision a TV skit comedy show with you guys and the Cherdleys bunch +Amanda McCants !! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
LA is insanely expensive and that's l what visitors need to know foremost. Also the level of frustration found in LA is through the roof, and most likely place to encounter that frustration are the roads.
I love this version (of the skit) much better than the one I saw on BP’s channel. Laughed much harder on this one! Yes I live in So. Cal and eat at Cafe G 😂
I met a friend for lunch in Santa Monica and she took me to her favorite place. It was just like this place! I was so hungry after I left that I raced over to the old Tommy's at Lincoln/Pico and had a chili burger. Finally a real lunch! Sadly, Tommy's is no longer there. Just a starbucks now.
Lol ive been to a vegan restaurant in LA that has menu items named like this and they encourage you to order it a specific way. Surely this is about that place...
If you're from Ohio, listen up.I lived in L.A. for 34 years and left 17 years ago. I've also spent some time in Ohio. Don't waste your time and money in L.A. or the state of California. There are way too many better places in The U.S. Ohio is one of them!
LA is what you make of it. If you’re from Ohio, we got plenty of Buffalo Wild Wings, chain fast food for ya. If you’re coming to live the vegan life, we got you. If you want a $20 burger and $10 valet parking, we got you! I was born in LA and would NEVER go to any place like they’re at. But I would know what it was before I got there.
When I think of LA, I think of taco trucks, Korean food (Ktown), Japanese food (Sawtelle/Little Tokyo), and Chinese food (626). There's plenty of good and new food experiences that aren't ridiculously overpriced.
Going into old english was funny. We do this as a inside joke for the musicians. When you speak like that, it makes you better than everyone else. Pompous.
"Welcome to Canteen Sacred Abundance, my name is Basil" incredible writing
"I'm here to guide you through your sustenance journey" 💀💀💀
"Basil like the herb, or the idiot owner of Fawlty Towers?" 😆
I love how he floated away backwards every time.
In LA it's always some sort of grammatically incorrect spelling of a child's name, i.e., Basyl, Bayzel, Basile, ect.
@@galamander_1327 I noticed that too, it was funny

Most people just walk away 😅
Bullshit !
I call Bullshit on your story
I love Nikki's facial expressions the most 😂😂😂
Haha, this is basically Cafe Gratitude if youre visiting LA and want to experience the hilariousness.
no thanks !
Hey thanks for the reference ! I'll look that place up
Oh God it's exactly what I thought it would be !
Yup yup! Hella expensive, pretentious as fuck…and actually delicious.
There we go I was looking for the Cafe Gratitude comment, was dearly hoping I wouldn’t be the first
“F*** LA.” My sentiments exactly and I live there. As usual, Nikki’s facial expressions make the video 👍.
I think restaurant business' in Southern California need to be part of the "price gauging" investigation going on, because they swear they put gold in their food with these F ing prices!!!

Throwing hilarious shade on Cafe Gratitude. Love it!
Thanks for pointing out that's a real restaurant, their menus are ridiculous.
"I AM MYSTICAL"
"YO SOY MUCHO"
"I AM CRINGING HARD"
I think that was actually a shot of their menu
at
Consistently one of the best comedic actors on the platform. Underrated is an understatement.
agree, for sure
My LA experience was roughly drive three hours to go somewhere, then spend two hours looking for parking.
They have perfect weather and a ton of money, and yet they chose to build the biggest car-dependent asphalt wasteland in the world
Lol I was in LA had lunch at some trendy place. My burger was $54
1:55-1:59 when the drinks disappear and reappear; that's what the $76 was for lol. I'm from LA and this made my day! 😂
Nice catch.
"I am soiled" killed me
The backward walk omg AHAH
"this morrow"
>.
"Fuck LA, lets go to Chili's"
I am in tune with her spiritual vibrations.
It looked like the waiter was rolled away from the table each time he left. 😄
Nah, it was just his source that didn't vibrate in aligment with gravity 😁
I picked up 😂on that too he be like I said maaa say roll me out 😅😂🤪😜🛞🛞🛞🛞

I love the way Brent retreated each time. Hilarious.
76$ is so accurate 😂😂
There's definitely a huge difference living in LA as a So Cal native versus a transplant. Haha!!! Great skit.

Welcome to the eatery of culinary enchantment, which jouurney shall thy palet embark upon this glorious day😂
"The only thing that guy's going to lead us into is a K hole" lmao!!!
I had look what 'K hole" means.
You are my new favorite sketch comedian! Your facial expressions and tone add soooo much to the skits.

Totally reminds me of how relieved I am that I left there a few years ago!!!
Brutal truth in this comedy - thanks for putting this out there.
The float away game was tight. 🙂
“forgiveth my friend” 😂😂😂
Man, when the waiter showed up, I just died!! 😂😂
“The only thing that guy is going to lead us into is a K-hole” is an underrated line.
"Civil War hippy!".. Dyin'..
Nikki's expressions are too good
Outstanding! What writing! Superb! And the performances are top-notch! 🌟
Cafe Gratitude ... in Berkeley. Felt the same way, although frankly the food was pretty good.
1:54 Where are the drinks?
I moved away from L.A. more than 15 years ago, best decision of my life!
Brent is clearly the one who can keep up with these girls when their skits get truly off the wall.
The only time I have ever walked out on a meal was in LA. Two sushi rolls and two beers, over $75.
Yup it's been a while since my last LA trip, perhaps I'll visit again - and then leave. Sounds crazier than ever- good ole' bat shit crazy LA never disappoints. You're still my favorite nut Nikki! Love your content!
I am laughing so much. This is actually as funny as "When Friends Give Dating Advice" which i have watched about 20 times
Atleast finish the drinks before leaving. It is $76.
I dont think they paid.
I came here to say this!
So, talk like the people in the capitol from The Hunger Games. 😂
We need a whole damn show..
Yay Chili's!
Nikki's facial expressions can't amiss 😂
" yea that's right!! she supports big pharma!!"
3:38 😅 The truth shall set you free!
This is so accurate it's even expensive in Alaska due to shipping and no I do not live there.
I ate there once with my girlfriend. Our waiter was Thyme. He recommended the Chiken. Not bad...tasted like Chicken. Lunch for the two of us was $320, pretty reasonable for L.A.
320 for lunch is not reasonable in any place in the world 😂

That's why LA sits above the San Andreas fault
Technically, to the left of the San Andreas fault. But there are plenty of other faults in LA. Namaste

That was really well done. I do not know how the three of them did not crack up
LA; a magical place rent is 2$ a square feet( if your lucky), you pay for parking, and give a 20% tip not because you "need" to
EXCEPT FOR 'KOOMIN' 😂😂😂
Civil war hippies! Her team of writers are top shelf masters.
