So I countered, “Ok, how long has your physical presence been here upon this earth?” She looked at me, stunned, and said “Damn no one’s ever gotten me with that before. I’m 22.”

My LA experience was roughly drive three hours to go somewhere, then spend two hours looking for parking.
They have perfect weather and a ton of money, and yet they chose to build the biggest car-dependent asphalt wasteland in the world

My aunt and her close friend left Philly for LA about 35yrs ago. My grandparents and I went down to visit shortly after. At 6yrs old I remembered feeling like it really was a different world... 8yrs later I went to see her, my cousin, & my uncle who both were blooming architects at the time & living in the hills. Point being, this is a very accurate depiction of the transformation of everyone that stays.

This only applies to a handful of neighborhoods. We call them the “transplant” neighborhoods. Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Studio City etc. There’s a few more but they’re the neighborhoods all of these out of town aspiring social media influencers move to. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone from Santa Monica that actually grew up there.
If you come to LA and want to see what actual LA people are like stay away from these “Hollywood” type areas. Hollywood a derogatory term we use to describe someone that’s the typical LA stereotype. When you go to the beach go to the cities south of LAX like Redondo Beach or Torrance.

I ate there once with my girlfriend. Our waiter was Thyme. He recommended the Chiken. Not bad...tasted like Chicken. Lunch for the two of us was $320, pretty reasonable for L.A.
