Reminded me of a story a bible teacher told in high school. Dude was with friends and came up on a couple parking, they beat up the guy and went to rape the girl. Dude got on girl and her sweater came down off her face and it was dude's sister. He ended up in jail and sister killed herself. No clue what the point in being told that was or what was being taught, but it stuck with me apparently.

yeah be careful for what you wish for, in my dark days i wished for something to live for and i said I would do anything even if i go in jail but 3 years after i got a wife and a year old son that got.abandoned by her grandpa and left next to basement stairs man i just caught him last second i wanted to kill him cause he literaly took my son and put him near the stairs while i was chilling out with my girl he was in a toy and yeah im dancing with the devil im sure and i dreamed about it way before i met my girl i believe we all have a reason to live no matter what were here for a purpose .

The way he switches up the final chorus to end the song on "If the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever" is similarly haunting. Its so punctual and does such a perfect job of summing up the theme of the entire song

It’s crazy to me that in 2017, there’s still hip hop heads that haven’t heard this song. I remember I first heard this in high school, 06-07, somewhere around then, at a time when I wasn’t really into hip hop, but hearing this song shook me. A bunch kids in class debated the song, some didn’t like his flow, some didn’t like the beat, some were tripped out by the subject matter, but everybody who heard it was captivated by it. Whether it’s your thing or not, that’s what art is supposed to do. Captivate you, and take you to another place for a short period of time. This song is definitely a classic, no doubt about that.

I just want to say that many of the greatest songs in all genres are unrecognized or from unrecognized artists, which is why all genres of music are worth investing in. Real music is a beautiful thing.
I'm actually attempting to immerse myself in hip hop and invest in the genre for the first time, as the mainstream sources throughout my lifetime have been largely underwhelming, but just from my experiences with other genres, and the old days of NBA 2K when they almost exclusively used underground hiphop and I found several gems, I knew there had to be good hip-hop out there. This being one example.

Immortal Technique's well you know, technique is showcased here beautifully. I love his deliberate story telling and the symbolism in his lyrics interwoven with metaphors. It's some of the best things I've heard in rap in a long time.
Though, unfortunately, like most genres or other avenues that can be considered an artistic outlet, this piece of art goes underappreciated.

I've been listening to rap since I was 14 (now almost 40) and I've heard this masterpiece million times. But it's always the same god damn feeling. Gut-wrenching . And I'm not even from the 'hood' (slavic country, but it was rough in 80's and 90's, we had our own versions of Billy Jacobs). And my mom passed away many years ago. But still when listening to last verses, my throat clenches. Needless to say, I've been listening to Immortal Technique since. I will always put him in my top 5 rappers of all time! And the fact he never sold his ass to corporate world just ads to his 'realness'.

Before this song i could of followed a friend into something because I was blinded by " loyalty ". This song is a lesson that some have to live a live of pain, violence and hardship to understand.
And Immortal technique is still slept on. He's one of the best rappers of all time in my opinion. With me, and rappers messages is important, but even without that, his ability and talent speaks for itself. If you haven't heard " you never know " check it out. I always pictured the moaning in the first two hooks is foreshadowing the mother seeing her son moaning with her broken jaw. You can see this is a possibility as he is about to kill her/ sees her the chorus changes to Prodigy sample that says: "I fallen and I can't turn back".
This is dark, but it is really good story telling and what I consider art. It just makes you not want to say it is because how dark it is, but what I always thought: If a character makes you feel emotion, then he is essential to the story.
Immortal Technique also admitted this never happen but more focus on the grim reality that does happen to people and their human nature.

That S.O.A.D. song is of course "Mind", which I think would be an interesting reaction for them. That song is one of their best IMO.

I was one of the 1st persons in the world to hear this song over 15 years ago when I worked for Immortal techniques promo street team.
It amazes me that 15 years later the new generation is making reaction videos to immortal techniques music.

I still have a video on my channel of a news report in the uk where something like this actually happened.
This is a true story. Immortal technique didn't rape or kill anyone himself but these F'd up things do happen in this world.

I heard this song years ago. And while I admired it's brilliance, I considered it a "rental".
I remember thinking, yeah that's cool and I definitely get why its considered a classic...but if I never heard it again I'd be okay.
Kinda like a greatly made movie that disturbs the shit outta you.

Or the Serbian Film of hip hop songs. Requiem For A Dream is my favorite movie of all time, but is like a Disney movie compared to the extremely disturbing & sad level that A Serbian Film/Serbian Film is on. It scarred me for life, no joke.

The first time I heard it I was driving home from work, it came up in Spotify suggestions. It literally made me drop my jaw wide open and kept it there for like 2 minutes.
