Immortal Technique is an African Peruvian (In the same way you're an African American). This song was also released long before X ever picked up a mic, if anything Technique influenced him. If you haven't check out his song "3rd World".
People forget that Lyrics can have a deeper meaning than just a Literal story. I always took this story as a message of being consumed with evil and how we can do the worst things to our loved ones when we get lost in our own greed and darkness.

Crazy part is, when listening to this song, it’s so easy to feel like you’re watching a movie in a theater, regardless of where you’re sitting. Your mind shuts off and strictly focuses on the song, it’s just that powerful.
I remember my buddy put this on for me in 2016, when we first started smoking ( we were in highschool) I thought it was gonna be a lame ass song because we came from the mumble rap era. Sometimes the upload date is wrong. This album came out in 2001 (maybe that's when it was uploaded, but I am old enough to know that the current youtube everyone knows, hasn't always been this way. The oldest music I find on here says "uploaded 14 years ago" but this song is now 23 years old. (Just incase you weren't aware or were curious - along with anyone else...)

Usually someone says something I don't agree with on other channels but this one all the way through was nothing but consistency in agreement. & the fact that you guys are father and son Reacting to this song is both bittersweet & trauma-healing to me. I respect the F out of both of you. Much love to you and yours !
OG im Mexican and I understand what you’re saying about the N word. Let me give you a different perspective. I was born in Compton and we were the only Mexican family in the hood. I actually learned to speak English from all my black homies. I remember my homies mom call me the n word. I was like that’s a bad word. She said you an n word to look at how you live and how you’re treated. We moved to the bay when I was 7 and in the hood I grew up in everyone used that word. It was just a part of the culture. I understand the point you’re making just trying to give you a different perspective. Much respect OG by the way we are probably the same age I might even be older.
Best reaction video I have seen of this song. Great reactions! You both seem great. Dad has a good head on his shoulders and the son will benefit greatly from his guidance. I really appreciated the reverence for the song. It shook me up when I first heard it. Powerful!

From all these corrupt, evil, degenerate, hateful scum bags who keep trying to tear us down and make us submit to the narrative that we're not the same and must distrust and despise and demean our fellow men and women - they need the hateful cycle to continue - so they can keep using us against one another for profit! Your father a wise man..let that man guide you..he seems to be doing the dad thing really well. Wish me and my dad had that relationship but I got my own son so I guess I can make it happen with my own through me!
I’ve loved this song since I was in middle school; the beat, the story telling, the rhyming schemes. A top tier song that will be appreciated throughout the generations.
Immortal Technique wasn't actually there, it was a local myth that ran among the crews in those times. However, he was genius enough to place himself there in the story to make it more real to the listener. As if we were the ones there witnessing the crime while he was telling the story. This is what makes him an amazing artist
He’s Peruvian with some African ancestry.. but I’m guessing being raised in New York among black folks they take you in as their own and both don’t see color so saying the n word is just a normal thing to them
I was chillin in the bus one day, listening to Spotify Hip Hop recommendations. Ain't no clue how amongst relatively tame tracks this came on, but holy shit, I was taken for a ride when I heard it.
React to more Immortal technique he’s fire. Rich man’s world, goonies never die, industrial revolution, Peruvian Cocaine, freedom of speech, the fourth branch, point of no return. All great songs that are deep been listened to him since I was a kid.
Hey guys, love the reaction and breaking down of the story telling. As a friend from across the pond I would really push for you guys to check out some of the UK lyricists/story tellers. Some great ones to start you off would be Dave - Lesley Rap Man - Shiro’s Story (all 3 parts) With Dave particularly his album Psychodrama (Lesley is a song on that album) is basically him sitting talking to a psychiatrist, you can hear it in the opening/ending of most songs on the album. Dave as a rule of thumb, is arguably one of the best lyricists in the UK. Keep doing what you’re doing
I heard this song when it was released in 2001. I was in middle school. Song fucked me up then and fucks me up all these years later. Such a wild turn in that final verse.
Bc it's common sense. Watch a movie with a big plot twist and tell me that knowing the plot twist wouldn't affect your REACTION. Could you still appreciate the movie? Sure, but that feeling of being surprised makes it so much better.
I literally felt like a witness to the whole event when I first heard it, and I was like 16 years old. I did not listen to any more music that day, and could not even think of anything else for like a week. I get goosebumps everytime I hear the beat. It also made me never ever want to consider gang banging.

I played this for my sociology class after my teacher said no music would surprise her. She loved the hook, as a sociology professor should, but was definitely not ready for the last verse.

We, the decent, true intentioned, and unbreakable people need to ALL UNITE. and as rage once said, "WE GOTTA TAKE THE POWER BACK!!!" From all these corrupt, evil, degenerate, hateful scum bags who keep trying to tear us down and make us submit to the narrative that we're not the same and must distrust and despise and demean our fellow men and women - they need the hateful cycle to continue - so they can keep using us against one another for profit! I ain't asking to come to the cookout or the Fiesta, but I won't turn the offer down haha "ONE LOVE!"
Nah
dad got so much insight
I appreciate your father not sure who that was but enjoyed him speaking his mind and enlightening folks
This song and his song -you never know- always gives me chills.
Your father a wise man..let that man guide you..he seems to be doing the dad thing really well. Wish me and my dad had that relationship but I got my own son so I guess I can make it happen with my own through me!
I’ve loved this song since I was in middle school;
the beat, the story telling, the rhyming schemes. A top tier song that will be appreciated throughout the generations.
Finally y’all did my suggestion😹😹. Love🔥❤️🔥
Immortal Technique wasn't actually there, it was a local myth that ran among the crews in those times. However, he was genius enough to place himself there in the story to make it more real to the listener. As if we were the ones there witnessing the crime while he was telling the story. This is what makes him an amazing artist
You have to listen to the extended version!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man your dad is a strong wise man, very glad to see you listning and absorbing what he's saying.
11:21 get to the reaction 😭
Fr they talk to fuckin much I changed to something else cause they boring af
Frrr😭
More like 13:21😭😭😂
I watched Immortal technique at a local records store in Cerritos, CA about 22 years ago. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING performer and very educated man!
Pops always got a popsicle 🤣 consistency 🤝🔥
Facts😂
He’s Peruvian with some African ancestry.. but I’m guessing being raised in New York among black folks they take you in as their own and both don’t see color so saying the n word is just a normal thing to them
This song is way older than 4-5 years. I was listening to this in 2005. It’s a masterpiece.
Try Immortal Technique - Point of no return, definitely a runner up and you never know
I was chillin in the bus one day, listening to Spotify Hip Hop recommendations. Ain't no clue how amongst relatively tame tracks this came on, but holy shit, I was taken for a ride when I heard it.
Immortal Technique is an amazing artist
The line his mom worked jobs for nothing because what was he worth is a crazy line
Ur pops is a really wise man DAMN
Subscribed for your dads insights, I hope to God you treat this man like a textbook, he has so much to teach
My favorite one yet!!!
Seeing what we are doing this too is what this song is all about. Who are you hurting. Who are you taking from. Genius .
React to more Immortal technique he’s fire. Rich man’s world, goonies never die, industrial revolution, Peruvian Cocaine, freedom of speech, the fourth branch, point of no return. All great songs that are deep been listened to him since I was a kid.
You Never Know is also a good story song!
Hey guys, love the reaction and breaking down of the story telling. As a friend from across the pond I would really push for you guys to check out some of the UK lyricists/story tellers. Some great ones to start you off would be
Dave - Lesley
Rap Man - Shiro’s Story (all 3 parts)
With Dave particularly his album Psychodrama (Lesley is a song on that album) is basically him sitting talking to a psychiatrist, you can hear it in the opening/ending of most songs on the album. Dave as a rule of thumb, is arguably one of the best lyricists in the UK.
Keep doing what you’re doing
I heard this song when it was released in 2001. I was in middle school. Song fucked me up then and fucks me up all these years later. Such a wild turn in that final verse.
My friend Dan showed me this junior year in high school. My jaw dropped at the ending and I was speechless, no song like this in the world.
You guys should react to Immortal technique you never know !!!
YES!!
Exactly
Been listening to immortal technique since i was 12 im 31 now and man Tech has not once ever let me down
definitely need him to react to more immortal technique
The point of a reaction is to go into it blind. Doing research ahead of time ruins the emotion you wouldve felt by knowing nothing
I mean how would they know that though.
Bc it's common sense. Watch a movie with a big plot twist and tell me that knowing the plot twist wouldn't affect your REACTION. Could you still appreciate the movie? Sure, but that feeling of being surprised makes it so much better.
@@bobbythompson8661 I mean with most regular songs, they don’t got plot twists.
I literally felt like a witness to the whole event when I first heard it, and I was like 16 years old. I did not listen to any more music that day, and could not even think of anything else for like a week. I get goosebumps everytime I hear the beat. It also made me never ever want to consider gang banging.
yall should do the “hoff twins” documentary, yo pops would start trippen 😂😂😂😂😂 yall would fw it heavy tho😂 the hoff twins entertaining fasho
💯😂👌
Nah they ass. Switched up
i love Pops explaining people joining gangs, searching for a family feeling, just to rip apart a family from another neighborhood... beautiful breakdown. This is my first time channel watch... 1st is that a skittles push pop? lol never had that before, damn. 2nd great video. will be back for more. much love
Y'all should react to the second part, the Diabolical one is fire
I played this for my sociology class after my teacher said no music would surprise her. She loved the hook, as a sociology professor should, but was definitely not ready for the last verse.
10:00 immortal technique is black and mexican
If you ain’t yet do “you never know” it’s 🔥 another classic story
I love watching reactions to this song it's way older then 4 years . Its the best story telling song in hip hop. So good
You should check out pray for me by Joe Budden. It's 🔥🔥🔥
Been waiting for this one pops !!!
