Pizza Sauce: Can of whole tomatoes. Fresh Basil. Crushed Pepper. Tomato paste. Pinch of sugar. Use a blinder or food processor and combine the tomatoes, pepper and basil until smooth. Pour into a bowl and add the paste until it thickens to a sauce. Add the sugar to balance the heat of the pepper. And that is it. Unless you are using it as a dipping sauce for breadsticks or something, it doesn't need to be cooked. Also there is plenty of sodium on other parts of the pie so you don't even have to add salt.

My mother always told me no dishwashing soap, but to use hot water and scrub. If something is really stuck on, just add a little salt and scrub. Rinse well in hot water and let it dry on the stove top with burner turned on low heat until dry. Every once in a while put a little oil in the pan and with a paper towel wipe the inside out & store it! I’ve been doing this for over 50 years I’m almost 71.

since you asked, most groceries stores carry organic pizza sauce, so organic, and then I check the ingredients to make sure there are no deadly heart attack causing seed oils (canola, soy, etc). Flour has to be organic or else you will be eating glysophates(round up) and dozens of pesticides. Cheese should not be factory farm cows who never get on pasture or see sunlight, which also makes us sick. Meat toppings from humanely raised animals on pasture, which give us vital fat soluble vitamins A, D, K2. Everyone loves animals until they have to spend $1 more for humanely raised animals allowed on pasture every day. Pizza can be a health food, or it can be corporate poison. Also, the wheat has to be fermented, or sourdough or it is also very bad for us, if you use regular yeast, do what they do in the best pizzerias in Italy and ferment it 5 days. So go to the store, buy organic bread flour and yeast, mix it up and place it in the fridge for 5 days and you will have a healthy dough that actually is rich in flavor.
To clean cast iron (easy way). Remove food but it leaves remnants. Place pan back on stovetop immediately. Use a small glass of room temp water and poor “some” of it on each “stuck on” surface. It will bubble/foam and release those remnants. While it is doing that, use your spatula to ensure that you get it all off. Pour out accumulated water (most will have evaporated). Wipe out well (still hot), put some oil on a paper towel and wipe it around on the surface of the cast iron. Quick and easy. Never leaves the stove. Improves seasoning with each use. Very quick once you get it down. BTW - I use lard and never seed oils. No need to poison what I cook with!
It would have been better if you would have cooked the Dough first until top is slightly brown and then put the topping on and then put it back in the oven. That would have been a better way to cook the pizza. More crispy,. Or, it is easy enough to just make the dough yourself. Easy to make. Just fold the dough inside the bowl that you mix the flour in. Let it rise 3 times it's size for that thick fluffy dough.

My jobs at 10 yrs told what to harvest, I was to put the canned goods 7:36 in the ground celler along so many. I have traveled several places in the world my best pizza was in Greece, 2nd France then Chicago, New York and California. I like you methods nothing really beat good home cooking. Sauce are easy to make canned and store a cool and no light.
I been cleaning cast iron pots for years the only time I will wash with water is when I am going to repickle the cast iron. Otherwise keep it clean is easy scrap off any heavy stuff inside the pan throw it away then put the pan back on the stove put a little bit of salt in the pan heat up the pan and and scour it with a paper towel making it nice and clean then take a little bit of oil preferably olive oil coated nice and then wipe it dry a little film of oil on it let it cool off and it’s clean very simple. My pans actually turn into a nonstick pan when I cook nothing sticks to it, but you have to have the right pan my pans are very smooth inside those pans are a little expensive but worth it. It saves you so much time cleaning it.

🎆 ~ _Wondering:_ 🤔 If you skip the butter on top, would the crust turn out crispier? I like pizza crust that's so crispy it crrrrraaackles. Think I'll try that next week, along with garlic powder sprinkled on B4 the crust is put on ... & i NEED black olives & mushrooms on pizza - I'll drop 'em in the pan at the same time the bells & onions go in. Can't wait!!! ~ 💖
Awesome pizza. Always add super hot water, let it sit. If you do that right away , most time it will easily wipe dry. Don't forget to treat the pan with a little oil. Just wipe a little all over the inside to keep it from rusting. Awesome videos. Keep it up
I love the concept! Tried it tonight, but should have left it 35 minutes to bake. We turned it out of the pan and the top half stuck in the pan and the crust wasn’t done. Love the recipe so will try it again😊
Hey, Kyle, I'm Italian, too!!!! Don't mess with the Italian women. They are tough!! HAHAHAHA!!!! Keep the "mishaps" in!!! That's all part of cooking!!! What's cooking without a mess???!!! And I learned a long time ago, that, with cast irons, you clean them by hand, dry them with a dry towel, and lightly oil it all over, even the bottom to keep it from rusting, and don't stack any other pans in it. I love using my cast iron. It's a small size, so I use it when I make myself an egg or grilled cheese.
I think this is an awesome idea, I do my pizza's on a pan and they stick to the pan, I do my pie in the cast iron skillets though (and they stick to the skillet). So to clean, put a bit of water in the pan and boil it for a quick minute, then, clean with warm water and a sponge with a scrubby side, then once clean, put corn oil in the bottom, not olive (cuz it has a higher burn temp) and spread the oil around the inside and outside...lightly cover it, heat it up until the oil is hot. Let cool and then wipe the oil out with a paper towel and store in the oven. The next time you bake something, leave the cast iron skillet in the oven so the oil can heat into the iron again. The pizza dough you used seemd a bit thick. I'd have probably rolled it out into two doughs. I get mine from Aldi's. It comes already soft, in a bag, and is one pizza not two. It's like 1.49 per bag of dough. I make my own pizza sauce but the interesting thing from your video is the whole cherry tomatoes you used. I like that idea a lot. I cut mine. But whole might make it sweeter. :) Awesome Job!!! Looks delicious.
A big huge no for me. But there is only one way you should clean your iron pan. Use a good kitchen scrub brush and sometimes maybe a wool steal and water. Then dry it immediately after cleaning. Then season it with crisco shortening by rubbing it all over. I just use a paper towel to clean it up. This will not only season the iron but will also help make it cleaner. You can apply it several times and wipe up with paper towel. It works great. That is how I do mine. Never put dish detergent in it. Detergent strips the seasoning off and then you have to get it reseasoned. The more seasoned it is the better it works for cooking and it cleans up easier. Best wishes to you. Some people use bacon grease for seasoning.
Don't clean cast iron in soapy water. Use salt and a flat wooden spatula to scrape any stuck on food. Wipe with towel in hot water, dry. Then put pan on top of stove with low heat and pour about tablespoon oil and rub all around, let pan sit for no longer than 2 minutes. Turn heat off and leave pan on burner until completely cooled. My pan is over 50 years old and has never been washed in soap. It's so seasoned, food slides out like teflon.
@@KyleandMistie I bought those microwaveable KRAFT mac and cheese, put it in the microwave and when it started smoking I realized I had forgot to put water in the macaroni before cooking. The odors got on my fan blades and everytime I turned my fan on I had to smell burned macaroni!!! It smelled SO BAD!!!!
When brushing the butter on, I was thinking about garlic butter. I was also thinking of sprinkling cornmeal over the pizza dough. This was awesome, Thank You. There are so many different ways to mix it up with ingredients.
My favorite way to clean my cast iron is ...cut a lemon in half... pour a generous amount of salt in the pan... then use the cut part of the lemon half to scrub the salt all around. Add more if needed. You can then rinse or wipe. The heat and season the pan lightly with oil. ❤

Advice from a pizza chef (30 years) : Never use "pizza sauce", it's just over-priced pasta sauce. Use your favorite pasta sauce.
Good advice. Thx.
That is the only advice a professional pizza chef has after watching this abortion of a pizza being made?
That looks delicious! Instead of pizza sauce, I use salsa, medium or hot, and it comes out really good.
Also there is plenty of sodium on other parts of the pie so you don't even have to add salt.

be careful putting any kind of tomato sauce on cast-iron. It’s too acidic and can strip the seasoning off of your cast-iron cookware.
Only if you leave it afterwards for too long 🍳
It was on the crust though...

I have traveled several places in the world my best pizza was in Greece, 2nd France then Chicago, New York and California. I like you methods nothing really beat good home cooking. Sauce are easy to make canned and store a cool and no light.
Gotta try this one !!looks delicious!
Love it! What do you plan to do differently?
Love to try this ♥️♥️♥️
I been cleaning cast iron pots for years the only time I will wash with water is when I am going to repickle the cast iron.
This looks awesome! LOL!! I always need tissues when I open the fridge. The cold makes my allergies go crazy! LOL! My baby loves her liver treats and she loves blueberries and strawberries.
So glad you’re having fun with us! What kitchen funnies should we do next or would you rather be surprised? 😲

@@KyleandMistie pepperoni, no pineapple onions peppers sausage mozz. cheese
A very interesting concept to make pizza ...I'll give it a try...well done young lady !
I can't wait to make this one. Pizza tastes so much better in an iron skillet. 😋🍕
Leave the mistakes in. Makes us feel right at home. We all make mistakes. You need to try Rao's sauce it's all natural. My son told me that's what I'm suppose to be using. Nice video.
That looks delicious! I have a pan like that so I’m going to try & make one like that & with more pepperoni on it. I would of took the piece with the extra garlic on it.😁 I’m afraid no to the 🍍 on pizza. You two have a fun filled weekend! 👍😋🍕🍕✌️🤓💚
Kyle luvs garlic and grabbed that piece😋. Let us know what you think of the recipe. 🍕
Awesome way of making pizza 😋🍕 I will try that I hate frozen and I hate order out I love homemade thanks guys ❤😊
Let us know what you think. What would you like to see us make next?
Awesome pizza. Always add super hot water, let it sit. If you do that right away , most time it will easily wipe dry. Don't forget to treat the pan with a little oil. Just wipe a little all over the inside to keep it from rusting. Awesome videos. Keep it up
Looks like you have a winner. I'll give that a try this weekend.
What was the temp you cooked it at? Please please answer this. I'm dying to try this recipe.
I love the concept! Tried it tonight, but should have left it 35 minutes to bake. We turned it out of the pan and the top half stuck in the pan and the crust wasn’t done.
Love the recipe so will try it again😊
Looks good so far❤❤
Where's the link to your authentic pizza making video you mentioned? I'd love to try both ways!
I'm looking for the thin pizza she mentioned too
Hey, Kyle, I'm Italian, too!!!!
What size pan are you using, please?
💃🏼💩🪣🏕💃🏼 SOOOOO GLAD FOR YOUR TRAVELS AND EVERYTHING ELSE
Looks delicious 🍕
That is absolutely incredible...I do have one question, Why do you have a box of tissue in the refrigerator?
It will absorb odors.
@@dcongdon2294 Oh thank goodness
💗💗好食譜! 我先生會好感激我呢個星期五為佢做呢件事! 再見! 💗💗
Good Food! My husband will be so grateful that I did this for him this Friday! Goodbye!
You should really appreciate your great assistant! He works perfectly with you!
That looks so delicious
Amazing flavor. Limp crust. I think it traps humidity upside down. Any suggestions?
Oh my gosh upside down pizza I can't wait❤
Yummy pizza and I love how the two of you have fun cooking.
I would put the empty pan over top the pizza and then flip one into the other. The recipe looks great. I'm going to try it😋
Really great idea, I think I'll try this for Friday Night Pizza and a Movie!
Upside down Pizza 😊 Great Idea 😊
Don't clean cast iron in soapy water. Use salt and a flat wooden spatula to scrape any stuck on food. Wipe with towel in hot water, dry. Then put pan on top of stove with low heat and pour about tablespoon oil and rub all around, let pan sit for no longer than 2 minutes. Turn heat off and leave pan on burner until completely cooled. My pan is over 50 years old and has never been washed in soap. It's so seasoned, food slides out like teflon.
Showing the mistakes shows that you are human, & we all make mistakes, despite what some people think if themselves.
Thank you for accepting me mistakes and all. What is one on your funniest cooking mistake?
@@KyleandMistie I bought those microwaveable KRAFT mac and cheese, put it in the microwave and when it started smoking I realized I had forgot to put water in the macaroni before cooking.
The odors got on my fan blades and everytime I turned my fan on I had to smell burned macaroni!!! It smelled SO BAD!!!!
Looks pretty tasty!
Yes she does lol.
Leave the mistakes!! Makes it more relatable
