- After viewing Elephants from a viewing hide a baby elephant was pushed into water/mud by another Elephant. After a long struggle the mother guides the tired baby to safety.

I am REALLY UPSET the other elephant didn't stay to aid mother to help baby escape from hole. That's formidable embankment! Please go for help! (Would it be a male that's still with the herd?) Why only the 2 adults there?

The mama elephant has no reasoning skills. When the baby was almost up & out, mama just kept drinking water & kept cooling herself off. Now they r n a worse predictablement. She led the baby 2 thick mud. Another hole. Goodness, she is unskillful when it comes 2 caring 4 her calf.
Have you notice that there are no other elephants around? Elephants travel in groups with the exception of the bulls( male elephants late teens through adulthood).
Elephant moms with newborns often leave the herd to bond for a while

The mother elephant looks like she belongs to the lower tier of the herd and that bully relative wants her and baby to know that. Sad. I hate bully animals, including people.

I think mom is either very sick, or her and the baby were separated from, or cast out of their hurd. It's possible that mom is not the mom and may just be an older sibling trying to raise the calf following moms death, or abandonment.
