    An elliptical machine with handles is one of the few cardio machines that can provide you with both an upper- and lower-body workout. The key to maximizing the full-body benefits is to distribute your weight and resistance evenly by pumping your arms just as fast as you’re moving your legs.
    The elliptical is known for putting less stress on your joints, making it great for people with bad knees or hips. Studies show that it can significantly reduce weight bearing compared to running, jogging, and similar workouts. This also means its the perfect choice to cross train your body without the wear and tear that comes with high-impact exercises. I love working out on an elliptical machine!
    Most people use an elliptical to get their steady-state cardio workouts in. I however, recommend it for more high-intensity interval training like this workout! HIIT workouts will maximize the fat burning effects in a shorter amount of time.
    Please feel free to increase your elliptical resistance or incline, to target specific leg muscles and make your HIIT workout more challenging. The higher the pitch the more butt activation you will get by the way. I recommend increasing the pitch as the rounds move forward, gradually.
    Remember, HIIT workouts and elliptical workout machines are amazing for you fitness and health! However, they should not be overused and be the only exercises you do. You need different muscle activation, progressive load changes, and variations with all your workout routines. #EllipticalWorkout #Elliptical #HIITWorkout
    I recommend to perform a 10-30 minute HIIT workout 2-3 times a week, with 24 hour rest in between HIIT workouts, in addition to other variety of fitness activities like weight-training.

    Been doing this for 3 weeks now, 5 days a week. I lost 8 pounds. I feel great and can go the whole 30 minute without stopping. Plus I limit my food intake. Thanks for the video.

    Thank you Dr Kevin! I have recently renewed my gym membership for the first time since 2020 and a rotator cuff injury - for some reason, I'm intimidated to use weight machines, so I visit for just 30 minutes and have done this workout 3 times a week since joining. I leave feeling so accomplished :) My machine max level is 20 and I have been using levels 7 and 13 for this. I am hoping to max the machine out soon!

    I'd like to thank you for sharing this workout! I've been doing it for 2 weeks now, every day, I've lost 8,2 lb. I can do it completely now.. at the beginning, it was hard, but now I can do it better. I also reduced my food intake. The hardest part was leaving the bed at 6 am and starting, but now it's ok. I do it before eating anything and I don't eat for 90 min after finishing. Thank you! (I am sorry for my bad English).

    Been doing this on and off, lost my way and gained about 50 pounds over the last 3 years due to stress and bad personal relationship decisions, this is giving me hope to get back into shape before it’s to late. So far every other day for a week now, mentally feel better for sure. Waiting patiently to notice a difference in my clothes fitting. As normally my body can lost weight really fast, and also gain to. I appreciate you uploading this workout

    I've been doing the 20 minute workouts and when I found this one I thought I would give it a try. When I got to the 7th or 8th round I thought there's no way I can do this but I thought only 2 more rounds to go I got this! And I did.

    Oh my!!! A 30 min one too!! You are killing it! The machine I use automatically sets to 30 so this is perfect. Cannot wait to workout today!!     I love it, my only critique would be to time the music to 120 bpm during the push sections for more audio focused workout people like myself. Some times it's better to pace towards the music instead of counting in my head.

    I've been using the elliptical for years but never tried to do a HIIT workout on one. Wow, this really challenged me! Last 3 rounds were definitely the hardest but you kept me going Dr. Kevin!

    The hardest is the first and 6th round, but from there I become really energized. This is by far the best HIIT video on UA-cam. The timer really helps me stay focused. It’s surprising how many videos don’t have that feature. I’m on day 2 of my 4th week, I’ll update my progress in June. Thank you for making this accessible ♥️

    Love it! I usually do this and do 12 rounds of hitting the bag. You will lose weight and build your cardiovascular strength. I recommend you this 3 or 4 times a week.

    Good workout. I’ve been doing it for six months now three times a week. Now have a VO2 Max of 41. Try it breathing in and out through your nose rather than exhaling through your mouth. Slightly tougher.

    I love your workouts !we just recently got an elliptical machine and been doing these 2 to 3 days a week with strength training in between, definitely seeing results 💪🏼 . I’m starting to go backwards on the 90 seconds rest recovery and I really feel the burn I absolutely love it 🔥

    Love this workout! So glad I found it. Exercise is usually boring for me, but I love class formats. This was fun and went by super fast. I am 56 and need to get back on track so I can enjoy my retirement when I get there. So I’ve been back at it for the past three days (although I have always trail hiked). I am enjoying being back exercising and this one is definitely a keeper. 😄 Thank you!

    I'm 5'8" and weigh 208lbs at 64 years old. I did your 20 minute rowing yesterday for 42 minutes. I did it 2 and 1/2 times and loved it. Today I tried your 30 minute elliptical and saw my heart rate go up to 168bpm. Can't remember seeing it work so hard. Looking forward to continuing these workouts in the future.

    Oh my !!!!
    Just did this full workout .Stronger than I thought gave it my all !! Only thing my Schwin eliptical only goes as high as 8 no automatic Incline .
    Is that still a good work out ??

    I've done this about dozen times so far. Kicks my ass but I am losing weight along with a low carb diet. Thanks so much! BTW, Yeah cycles 6-7 are the hardest. Once you get over the half way hump, it's more challenging but I'm motivated by the closer finish line.

    You are a blessing. I have been doing 60 mins flat. But switched to HII, suffering now😅
    I also follow the heart beat on recovery, when comes down to ~120 I give it a 30 sec go again not recovery for 90 seconds.

    Thank you, great sweat! Round 9 and 10 were the hardest. I had it on 15 out of 20 for the 30 seconds and increased pitch by 1 each time so got to the max pitch. Gluten had a sort of tickle in the which means they were fired up. This workout was a 9/10 it would be a ten if you had better music... I know that means you have to pay for it probably but anyway just an observation. Your sound quality, speech wise was great and the fact you were breathless showed you were really in it with the audience. I subscribed with thumbs up.

    Round 1 definitely the most challenging. I haven't done any hiit workouts lately so was a but out of shape. I forgot how hard they were. I guess it's like having kids. You forget how hard it is. If you remembered nobody would have more than 1 🙂. Great video Kevin thanks 👍

    I just did this for the first time. as a fitness instructor I do a lot of fitness classes on an every day basis, some high intensity, and some low. I like my elliptical call for the low impact workouts. This was fun and challenging and the time went by very fast great workout. I will continue to do this one.

    Awesome workout. I’m currently cross training on the elliptical machine, as I recover from my running knee injury. I’ve been doing this workout twice per session, with 90 seconds easy at resistance 12 and 30 seconds hard at resistance 16. During the easy sections, I still focus on keeping my HR high, usually going from 160 HR during easy to 175-180 during hard.

    I was a track and XC runner in high school and college...this workout reminded me of those 400 intervals we used to do...loved it!

      Consider myself in pretty good shape….runner, weight lifting, yoga, hiking etc. but this workout kicks butt every. single. time. I feel so energized yet completely cooked! Do it about 2 or 3 x’s per week….It has improved my strength, muscle tone, and cardio. Love it!!!

    I love this workout. It makes time go by much faster on the elliptical. I’ve lost several pounds of weight doing it this way. My heart rate reaches 160 on the 12th push. Thank you for this awesome video 👍

    I make the rest periods a little longer and make sure my heart rate gets down to 130. Otherwise, I am not able to put enough effort into the intervals.

      That's a perfect idea Dennis! If you're truly working out at your 100% max effort, you need time to recover FULLY. If you don't have enough time to recover, the level of intensity throughout your workout will suffer. Keep up the great work! 💪

    Wow, wow! Intense! . This was my first time on the machine and wot a crazy drill to initiate myself into the fitness world. Don know if I'll be able to walk after this. Wanted to quit at 6 but pulled through, thanks to your push. I will try to follow through till shed all fat. Good job dude👍

    Thanks Dr for sharing this HIIT. I am a student and don't really want to apply much brains as to what workout to do till my final exams and this one is my present favourite and suits my body type.
    Started with 58 kg 1 week back.
    Now 56.5 kg
    ( I do this during my fasting period and yes have adopted clean eating.)
    Target weight- 49 kg

    My hardest rep is always #2 - not quite warmed up yet and feeling the burn from #1. After that its smooth sailing ;)

    Thanks! Today was my 3rd day doing the 30 min. Insane elliptical work-out. And I'm planning on doing it for the next 14 days. The most intense round for me was every single one. If you really give it your all it almost feels like 90 seconds are not enough for you to catch your breath, but, once you hit it hard again you forget about not being able to catch your breath.
