    To whoever is stressing about GCSE’s, this may be helpful or may not be helpful at all. Honestly, as long as you pass your maths and English and science, you’re good to go. GCSE’s for me were basically the door to get into Sixth Form and once you’re there, your A levels are what gets you into Uni or the career you’d like. My advice is to prioritise the subjects you struggle with, and if that includes maths or English, definitely work on them because you don’t want to be retaking them during A levels. Don’t stress about GCSE’s, yes they are important for people who’d like to have careers like being a doctor, surgeon etc etc and the more ‘higher achieving’ careers, but for most people (like myself), once you’re in college/sixth form, it’s your A level results that get you where you want. but don’t stress, coming from someone whose done GCSE’s, looking back they really aren’t as important as everybody makes out. Just do the best you can at the end of the day. I always told myself I’d rather fail knowing I tried than fail knowing I could have put the effort it. ONE last thing, schools never provide you with the knowledge that theres is ALWAYS another route to achieving the career you want. It’s all very, ‘do GCSE’s, college, Uni and then Career’ when that is NOT the only case. There are apprenticeships, courses and so much more to get to where you want. Although some paths to the desired career may take longer, you’ll get there. It’s not a race, don’t focus on anybody else but yourself and just try your best at the end of the day. Don’t overdo the revision and make yourself ill, take it easy, be kind to yourself. Don’t feel guilty for taking some time off to actually LIVE a little and give yourself a rest. For people stressing about going into the exam, it’s an hour and a half of your whole life, so it’s nothing really. Anyways rant over, good luck year 11’s, you’ll smash it :)

      hi! coming from a student who gets 7s in maths and english, and i'm targeted for an 87 in science! i know may not be the best help but i'm willing to help! from maths, use the advanced information, highlight the topics u do not know and make sure to use videos to help u and do 5 questions on the topic once learnt, once all topics are learnt do past papers! ask ur teachers for help with the questions you got wrong! for english language, all u can do is past papers, get ur teacher to mark them (make sure to do them in timed conditions) as well as reading examiner reports which contain essays from students who have got 9's in the past, for science make sure u know the spec, by meaning the points, recommend highlighting the stuff y know and the stuff u don't make a question out of it on a piece of paper and memorise the answer for it, get someone to test u, make sure u do past papers and learn how the mark scheme works for specific questions! good luck!

      I got 8s/7s in nearly all my gcses except maths (foundation 5). So i cant rlly help w maths that much if u do higher but i did get 90%+ on my papers. For maths just do practice questions with a help book next to you that tells you how to recognise each type of equation and tells you how to do it. Libraries should have them if you ask for gcse books. Most libraries give books out for a month at a time and u can always renew it if u need more time w/ it. Or you can find help videos on youtube if you search the question type. After u do the practice questions (u can find some online if u Google them) with help from the book/video, try doing some without them and see how u do. If u do bad dw, just do another helped practice question, start something else and then come back to it later after you do the other thing. Don't stress fr fr you're gonna be okay

    WARNING: THIS COMMENT IS ADVICE FOR AMBITIOUS PEOPLE WHO ARE BURIED IN STRESS AND BECAUSE OF THAT PROCRASTINATED TO THE POINT WHERE THEY HAVENT STARTED YET, THIS IS NOT FOR THE WETWIPES THAT HAVE BEEN REVISING FOR MONTHS ALREADY OR FOR PEOPLE WHO PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS
    I want to just say my 2 pennies worth hopefully revishaan don’t delete this. I know a lot of the people watching this are like me and not at all like this guys channel and the other wet wipes (not being rude just factual) and you prob took the piss for 3 years, stared out the window & genuinely didn’t care but you always had high ambitions and still want to be rich in the future. I want to reassure you, a person who is in a good university now and am a total procrastinator who learns everything a few weeks before. that you do not have to be stressed, take it slow, first go over the content make notes quickly, you will have to grind i’ll be real, i wouldn’t go out like he said, you are not in the same boat as him or the other wet wipes I know you literally know nothing whoever is reading this, grind it out and when the content is done start memorising the hell out of it, whichever method works for you, ignore this guys method, everyone’s different and you are not him, I would just write on a separate paper what I could remember and then read notes and keep re writing until I knew everything. then finally the night before each exam, which is probably when you’ll be caught up as this is long, go through past papers but don’t do it yourself under timed conditions it’s a waste of time at this point and time is against your side, instead just keep reading through answers and make notes on stuff you didn’t know how to answer before this will help you learn the exam answers just aswell. i stress again if you’re an airhead like me you don’t have time for days off now but you can chill after you’re a grinder you’re gonna make it you’re not a wet wipe you got this and you’re gonna make it.

      Hi this obviously isn’t revishaan however I find it interesting how you are trying to get into higher because tbh same cuz I did get grade 5 5 and a 4 for science and like I just wish I can get into higher and even the chance you are having but like I did do higher tier papers to see if I can do well on higher but that didn’t really go well. Before this holiday my intention was to revise for literally EVERYTHING and master everything however many people like my teachers and relatives have advised not to do higher because it is so much more harder and like I have to revise for both foundation and higher and tbh I haven’t properly revised for either. Teachers have been saying that I should aim to get the best grade in foundation as there is more certainty that I can do that whereas for going into higher there is a chance of getting really bad grades. In 4 weeks with biology and chemistry first science exams before the May holiday I feel like there is a chance and if you are smart and if you did get good grade for your science test then yeah take a shot but I just think it may be easier to revise for foundation and get the best grade possible. If you are going trying to get into higher defo flash cards, exam style questions, revision websites like: free science lesson videos, revision science, revisely. Finally, You don’t have to do this but presume you are going to make flash cards and cover all the content for foundation and higher I’m just saying to maybe colour code them in order of what is going to come up in foundation, what is going to come up in higher and what is not going to come and what may come up

      @@riyadamin9638 Hey thanks for your advice, I do appreciate it. I understand when you say that there is more certainty and you can get the best grade possible if you’re to do F tier; I did have that mentality for a while but I came to a conclusion with my teachers and my parents that I strive for the higher tier. Likewise to how you said you are trying to cover and master higher and foundation content I’ve had a similar approach and my goal is to soon be able to do past papers on for now at least two of the sciences paper 1 and maybe like bio P2. This will take a great amount of effort and evidently some time. Again, I appreciate the info you’ve provided me with for trying to get into taking higher and wish you the best for whatever tier you eventually take as well as towards your grades. Cheers!

      @@riyadamin9638 Right, thanks for the positivity. I was in a position like you are in now about a few months ago, debating wether I should do Higher tier - maybe even last month. And what I would say is what my Dad told me and it was particularly on the lines of ‘only you know how well you would be able to answer the questions, if it’s adding pressure I shouldn’t take it and he advised me to dwell on whether I should take it or not having said dwell on it and by tomorrow I should have my decision’ he also said that if one teacher thinks I should do higher tier and another doesn’t then I would just have to prove that teacher wrong. So lastly I would advise you to do what my Dad told me have a dwell on that decision - to do higher or not and somewhere in tomorrow try to have your final decision. I also wanted to acknowledge how yes higher is significantly harder especially chemistry therefore I would advise you to consider the overall decision from that as well, especially if your doing double science like me; having you say you don’t want to neglect other subjects, I would say think about how much more time you would be spending on sciences if you were to do higher tier and if that cuts out a significant amount of time on your other subjects then that can also influence your decision. So finally I would say it can help to try out what my Dad advised me on when it came to making the decision and also I would say it’s about how comfortable you feel you are at taking higher tier and answering the questions those types of questions. Lastly I do want to mention how I was given the opportunity to prove that I can do higher and I’ve got until the last day before my GCSEs to do so and maybe it’s something you would like to ask from your teachers but do still remember it’s about you feel. So yeah, thank you again for the positive regards and wish you all the best in getting the grades you desire and with whatever decision you take good luck!!

    • @Katnip50
      @Katnip50 2 роки тому +6

      Dont make notes for history its such a waste of time, i made anki flashcards for history in march and i dont use them. Ive just made posters for history and watched a lot of vids for topics we did in year 10. Its ok if your behind, most people are, the exam boards only released the advanced info 3 months before gcses. Im behind on my sciences but Im not stressing because I know it wont do any good. Just learn quotes for eng lit and know which acts/chapters they are from and practice.

      @@lullaby4108 What are your main methods for revising that helps you remember, e.g. colour coding notes. Are you a kinaesthetic learner?
      Instead of making notes which is a passive method id recommend testing your knowledge and teaching other people what you know to strengthen your memory, this may include doing past papers, topic questions, anki/quizlet flashcards, etc.
      If the posters are too messy you can always find them online, for history timelines you most likely have them in your textbook or you can even find them online somewhere.
      If you forget things easily, like most people id say doing active recall will help you a lot to stop the forgetting curve.

So come mocks time , I didn’t actually revise anything before the Christmas holidays at all and didn’t know any of the yr 10 content , I banged out and ended up with 9 9s and 1 8 in the mocks with a 99% in English language which I scored 50 percent in , in year 10 . Hey man, do you know if we need to memorise the reactivity series for gcse chemistry?

    • @rabiabibi2346
      @rabiabibi2346 2 роки тому +1

      You do, if you look at past paper questions there’s quite a few where you have to use the reactivity series. You prob won’t have to fully like write down the whole series for an answer it’s useful to know but the questions are usually low marks questions be fine if you don’t know it that well

      if you do aqa gcse science, freesciencelessons has a 2022 gcse playlist which he covers all the major focuses of the exams, not the minor focuses though (like the possible 1 and 2 markers)

      So I should do past papers

    • @vortexah748
      @vortexah748 2 роки тому

      @@bislay You can but say for science - it would be much better if you did like practice questions on the major focuses of your exam - a load of this can be found on a website called physicsandmathstutor (it has a ton of questions for each topic for science). What I suggest is that you make sure to ask your teachers for the subjects which you don't understand the advanced information for, to tell you and give you a list of everything you must revise (such as for science ask for both the major and minor focuses of the exam). The reason why past papers will still be good but not the best is because it will have some questions that may not appear in your exam. Also for Edexcel maths, Mathsgenie has made predicted papers for 2022 which you can find on their website or on his UA-cam channel (he does a walk-through of it) and then I am pretty sure GCSE Maths Tutor explains each topic for each paper for Edexcel maths (make sure to watch the Edexcel ones if you are doing that exam board as he also does AQA ones)
