After the Renault F4R motor recently spun a bearing, it's time to rebuild the motor and fix the damage. In episode one, we polish the crank and replace 1 conrod that got heated and spun the bearing.

Howzit man, my friend also has a 197 and the car is smoking 24/7. I think its the rings...?
I've looked at alot of places to get torque specs and how to assemble and timing diagram etc like a Haynes repair book but for a Renault 197 but no luck in finding anything. May you please share where you got your information.
Was it a mission of a job to do? Tools that you need for timing and the job to be done beside a torque wrench.

I doubt you’ll be able to do timing yourself unless you have the correct tools bud. I suggest that you speak to Gerben, he is the guy who helped me do all the timing stuff on my car - +27 (82) 401-8998
The rest is really just a motor. If you have tools and basic knowledge of an engine you’ll be fine

Tbh I can’t remeber bud. Just google it. If memory serves me right it was around 20nm + 45degrees. Think I found the specs on 197.net forun
Bud can you please give me the guys number you posted in one of the videos , you mentioned he had helped you with the renault you had his details on the screen of one of the videos.

Instead of being outright rude, why not offer some advice if you are unhappy with how things are being done?
@@ChristiaanKarsten nevere ever in this life or the other...you don t put sandpaper on the crankshaft. Never. This is just a sign of misunderstanding of how an engine works. That engine, the oil holes, the tiny little oil squirters....they are full of debris from the spun bearing.....I say no more...shitty job really.
