Best bang for the buck in cooling! It's the best upgrade I could had ever done for my car. Temps here in Az are 115° + and my coolant temps are as low as 180° at 80+ mph, to 200° in stop and go traffic. Highly recommended.

I just added a CSF radiator to my 2008 335i N54 and VRSF INLETS. The front inlet is touching the pulleys. I haven’t started the car yet. What do you recommend?
Csf is a bargain anyways! For the quality it wouldn’t make sense to roll the dice on an eBay radiator! And if you’ve got dealer access to something like turn14 (I know not many people will not have that luxury, but I would advise anyone who has a buddy that works in a performance shop to ask if their shop has an account with turn14 or something of the likes) you can get these radiators in the mid 200s shipped!

They probably didn't connect the radiator hose into the heater core because it's leaking, or it's clogged, and replacing a heater core on these cars is a pain in the a**. Took me 3 days to do in my garage in Canada with -40 deg weather. Will never forget that pain in my life haha...
You get a big thumbs 👍 up from me for being that ambitious and as another Chinadian I know the pain all too well.
CSF stopped polishing the radiators when COVID hit. That's how I bought mine and it came with a card saying that.
Makes sense.. damn looks way better polished. I guess you could always polish the ends yourself. But I'm glad I bought mine just a few months before COVID hit.
@@1769star I accidentally ordered the f series one first and it came polished. What I sent it back and ordered the e series, there was no polishing which sucked because I now know the difference....lol

For anyone wanting to do this upgrade, its possible to use a manual one on an auto car for extra cooling capacity if you run an aftermarket wheel well mounted trans cooler with the factory heat exchanger deleted and the hoses blocked with Fleece 5/8 Billet Aluminum Universal Block Off Plugs. I don't have any data to show whether or not it's worth it and it might take longer to warm up but I do like the idea of the cooling systems being separate. I'm running chinese 25 row coolers (for now) with mishimoto inline thermostats for both the engine and the trans with -10 AN lines. 3mmx50mm 90deg angled aluminium with some holes drilled were used to mount the coolers using the factory crash bar bolts. My manual radiator was also polished, but maybe they stopped bothering as a cost saving measure since you can't really see it once its installed
I'm guessing the heater core is leaking is why they looped that hose. Should leave that blue plastic on the radiator to protect it on the install.
This build will probably be a drift build or race I think drift since u want a manual and no ac and that would be sick imo can't wait to see it turn out
If you haven't done waterpump I recommend the full metal one from O'Reilly it worked really great for me got 5k mil3s so far no issue I think the part number was 6681 if I Remember correctly

Great Content !, I've recently replaced mine with CSF. After much figuring out, I found that CSF Mfg#7001 code can be installed for both auto and manual so they provide both aluminum long and short drain plugs
It’s a permanent fix. For N51 engines it has sensor in radiator which is cause CEL but it’s still worth it
Yup I did it in my N51 screw that expensive ass special radiator. Also your tuner can code out that cel
I wanna convert mine to n52, need to find the tune, hate that expensive ass radiator and secondary air pump bullshit.

@@MickeyGlover no need to really convert you can delete the parts without a problem if your car is tuned by a company like Active autowerke or stage fp who tunes the n52 the most they can turn off the n51 code that trips those CELs
@@yngelly9497 it doesn’t remove the function for the CEL just if those specific N51 codes come up from missing the special radiator it won’t cause the check Engine light to come on. Check engine light will still work for everything else

What did you do to fix the smoking when accelerating and decelerating? I assume smoke from exhaust.
Mine started leaking at the bottom. I was able to get it fixed but it was between the fins and the solid part.
The radiators on these do fail after a long time where I'm from but not very often. My car has 200,000 Miles on it and the radiator is still working but it has corrosion around a couple spots so the time is now for me. But it took a lot of time (It's a 2008) and Miles to get there in Calgary Canada. The two moths of heat we get a year are almost over now that it's Sept. So we don't have the over heating problems they have there and a lot of places.

7081 is for the F series and 7046 is for E series

@@SwapDepot the factory radiator has a EAC sensor. So when I installed the csf a service engine code came up. After a bit of research I discovered bmw doesn't sell the sensor only. But Mercedes does. I Was hoping you could do a video on how to retrofit the sensor.

180⁰-220⁰ is a good operating temperature
"fully warm" with a CSF radiator is something like 210-220, stock like 240-250. Extensive highway driving adds 5-10 degrees

How much thicker is the CSF over the stock rad?
The E82 already has less space between the rad and the pulleys compared to E9x, but my 1M is even worse because it has a physically larger 850w thermo fan vs the normal N54 600w unit.
The end result is, with silicon inlets for twins, there's FA space left.
Its like half an inch maybe nothing crazy
