    Love the shape of the 135 coupe, I currently have an e92 335 but I think the 135 is my next move. Love the content, peace

    Should of got a billet crank bolt capture too! It’s definitely one of the most important things, besides the billet front main seal guard, billet coolant goose neck & billet power steering pulley. You start pushing that engine & that crank bolt ever backed out. The valves are gonna say hello to the pistons ✌🏻🏁

      @@tenaciousjeebs Yeah without a doubt, but usually do those when you’re throwing rods & pistons in. Then you’ll really have a bullet proof engine…✌🏻🔥

      Yes! Once they come lose while running let alone while on boost it can become a serious problem

    Take camera and double check pistons for oil. usually valve cover leaks it leaks around injectors as well.

    Fingers crossed that the reused water pump lasts! I'd have DEFINITELY replaced it. The original waterpump on my 2009 e93 lasted to ~ 70k miles. The factory replacement lasted to 100k miles. The car has 103k miles on it now. Everything you've done here I did on my car when I bought it 6 years ago. This summer it'll be a brake fluid flush, diff and transmission service. It never ends, but when she's right, she's RIGHT!

    Oil pan initial torque is 8nm yes. But still needs a further 90° for short bolts and 180° for long ones.

    The issue will not happen with the belts if u replace the tensioner & pulleys when they need to be replaced and with quality parts. But again I have a guard in mine and I do think its worth it but it happens from lack of maintainence.

    My 2008 n54 engine sitting on the floor now and getting everything done, but keeping stock turbos . When the mechanic took the bumper off i was surprised to see a non standard black intercooler larger than the bms 5 inch i just got , what to do lol .

    the crack in the power steering only rly affected 07 and 08 models. The engine would have enough movement to slighty tap and hit the subframe eventually breaking it. After that BMW made a notch in the subframe to correct the issue but i still think its a good idea to replace with aluminum.

    when i refreshed the engine in my 08 sedan with 70k miles at the time, the crank hub was 6 bolts. does that mean i have a 6 bolt n54 or is it only for the rear?

    8nm then 90 degree angle, 180 degree for the long ones

    I replaced my crank seal and if were being honest it needs replacing every 30k miles. I should send you a pick of the wear a crank seal goes through on the inner crank side.

      I went through two sets of oil pan bolts becuase one snapped and I had to extract it. Do not use rtv on that crank seal use bmw gasket maker and only the amount suggested in the two seal channels. my og 335is engine blew up becuase some idiot smomthered rtv all over the crank seal cover it destroyed a exhaust cam and turbo and cracked then that cracked the block and it grenaded.

      becuase the silicon rtv got sucked into the crank and into the oil pickup

      replace the motor mounts and fix the dubframe it will need to be shaved for room on the power steering pump it rubs the belt with bad motor mounts. new motor are a must and the engine is only good if you make sure you dont corner or ruin a engine mount. my final concluison about N54 bmws is they are not worth it. nor is any bmw for the matter.

    Seems like you guys are going back and forth agreeing with one another surely you can’t just ‘get any type of deal guard’ it needs to be of good value and quality that is meant for the car.

    Why pull the motor you can do all this in the car I did fairly easily also put 17t's in as well what a monster have had them in now for three years and not a problem at all. very reliable engine once this is all done

      the car did not have engine when i bought it, this was a new engine that i bulletproofed

      I was told by a bmw mechanic that 6bolt came 07-08 and 8 bolt was 09-10

      @@adamsisneros8307 Closer but also backwards and n54 was produced till 2013. Older model was 8bolt, 07 08, newer model is 6bolt and has better cam ledges 09 13. Alot of people want 8bolts as they believe they are stronger, belief that bmw overbuilt them due to first production turbo engine and saw it held up fine so cut savings cost and went to 6bolt, that is the theory at least. But everyone knows the 6bolt has better cam ledges. All in all 6bolt is not special other than improved cam ledges
