Not trying to sound like a smart ass but ... how do those cooler caps... the hex blue ones help cooling lol. My understanding is.. it’s just cosmetic 🤷🏻♂️
Only thing that helps cooling in this is the oil cooler valve (the red thing) the blue stuff is 90% cosmetic 10% upgrading materials for peace of mind. If you just want cooling you’d be fine going with just the valve
Jay Herrmann yup. The valve and the cap with fins ... they suppose to dissipate heat 🤷🏻♂️... but the cover bolts and the cover for the valve is just looks... but obviously a bit more $$
@@rickpearce5553 many people carry them. Burger tuning is one of them. ECS tuning may carry them as well. But depending on your setup for car it may be better off running a bigger oil cooler etc. there’s many ways to make the oil run cooler… but also each way has its benefits and cons. Depending where you live it may not be smart to run a colder oil. All depends what your plans for car are.
With the thermostat delete the N54 will take wayyyy too long to warm up. It already takes a long time to warm up properly, and they were made to run pretty warm. If your oil temps go over 250 degrees F in normal to spirited driving then you should either change oils, or there’s another problem. Upgrading the actual cooler itself is more useful if you get upgraded twins or a big single, but really only for track use for stock twins. Honestly an upgraded radiator is far more useful. I understand this vid is sponsored and helps you make more content but just putting that out there
Do not idle to warm up your car. BMW needs to be moving at a cold start to get the oil circulating. This is why BMW engineered the oil cooler the way they did. This mod is a great for a track day, not for everyday use. Be careful over long-term usage.
The BMS sport oil cooler valve helps lower temps at daily driving conditions, which is good on a hot summer day if you dont do short trips and can withstand the longer time to get to operating temp. If you’re running hard for a while like on the track, your thermo will already be open 100% of the time anyway, regardless if you have a stock spring, or a lower temperature spring, or a complete spring bypass like this BMS sport oil cooler valve. Having the thermostat open full-time just starts the cooling process sooner, it doesn’t increase the ultimate cooling capacity. So hard running will still cause steady oil temp increases. For extended hard running, you need to upgrade to an aftermarket oil cooler like a G Plus 25 row or a Mishimoto, and get a CSF radiator.
Have exact same set up always thought it was cosmetic crap and after doing track day can confirm just cosmetic crap does not work. Yes it opens thermo little earlier but in track thermo is always open. Save your money and upgrade oil coolers.
Hi, i have an important question because i am not sure about that. Do you need to put the old spring to the new oilventil ? Or do you just put it in without spring ? Please answer, best regards
Great mod. I’ve done the same except the thermostat cap. Blue cones will definitely be a perfect combo. I wish I could find them for my current CAI but the diameter of the attachments are smaller than what I have found out there.
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I can’t wait to own more BMW’s. I got a 2004 BMW 330Ci for my 16th birthday a couple months back and I love the bimmer life so far. I’ve been obsessed with my friends BMW 228i that he has missed out quite a bit. I’m really hoping I can be like you one day and own newer BMW’s and build them all.
Hey Nour ! I have a 2009 bmw 328xi, it has a N52 engine. For some reason it’s been hard for me to find some engine mods or like you just did in this video some cooling mods. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place but can you maybe drop a link to a site you’d recommend for N52’s ?
So there’s not a lot of cooling mods. But you can actually install an N54 oil cooler on your N52. Might need some help mounting the cooler but I think it might bolt up
I’m a little late and I just bought a 4D 07 335i. I was looking up that oil cooler and some kits come with a new spring. Do some kits make you use the new spring or is it like yours where I wouldn’t need to use it??
No spring, he took it out. This is a bypass valve that keeps the thermostat open 100% of the time, so the oil always continues on to the oil cooler. If you want to keep a spring, you gotta get a low temp spring ($45 at ECSTuning), or get a Mosselman or Improved Racing thermostats which have low temp springs. You’ll have faster oil warm up to operating temperature with a spring because it will keep the thermostat closed at cold temps instead of running through on to the oil cooler.
Dude I just bought my 135i convertible and I want 2 buy that oil thermostats kit U just showed. But. Ya didn't say were 2 buy it from. Please help. I need that bad. Thanks again. Newbie Rick
Nour I freakin love your vids bro and I have mad respect for you and your work ethic thank you for the great content I know your channel is going places man I also think it’s awesome that your managing your school life and staying on top while doing everything else you have going on congratulations and keep up the grind
you kept calling the oil filter housing, a thermostat housing 🤔🤔 the thermostat housing is under the car 1 inch away from the water pump... so idk what this guys talking about
"I only had this filter for 500 miles" Dude... that shit looks like it has deen in there for much much longer. Always Replace it no matter what. A new Filter isnt that expensive but can save you a lot of trouble.

True but it’s an N54. Rev limiter even on my way to the grocery store 😂
herlangaona Once it’s warmed up, same here lmao 😆 But after driving like 10 miles on the highway at 3k rpm it’s usually barely up to temp for me
Do not idle to warm up your car. BMW needs to be moving at a cold start to get the oil circulating. This is why BMW engineered the oil cooler the way they did. This mod is a great for a track day, not for everyday use. Be careful over long-term usage.
do u want your plastic engine to run at 120c

Did you put back the spring when installed new cooling valve?
Do you have to use the BMS cap for that valve?

Im pretty sure that you can get n52 tuning on burgertuning too
PuRpHaZzE RDW I checked but they don’t have anything, they have some exhaust tips and cooling caps lol
So there’s not a lot of cooling mods. But you can actually install an N54 oil cooler on your N52. Might need some help mounting the cooler but I think it might bolt up
herlangaona big bet bro ! Thank you
This is fit in 535i f10 2015?
I’m a little late and I just bought a 4D 07 335i. I was looking up that oil cooler and some kits come with a new spring. Do some kits make you use the new spring or is it like yours where I wouldn’t need to use it??

0:09 UGH WE NEED THE F10 VIDEOS
Nour, I'd recommend getting a set of VMR V703. They have the CSL style for a great price. You can get an 18 inch set for about $930.
What about the spring?
I wasn’t going to paint my 328i wheels but now I think I’m going to paint them black here soon. I like the way those turned out.
May I please ask, when you install those bolts in, how much torque did you use?
Eid moubark Nour 💚
Quick question did you reused the spring? Or no need to reused.
I need the same answer :/

the timing for this video is to perfect
Where is the 650i
Wait... how do these bolts help with cooling exactly?
the thermostat opens early
thank you for that Nuno! 💪
The bolts are purely cosmetic. The valve reduces cooling

Can the Sport Oil Cooler Valve be used for a n52 platform ?
^?
Csl reps for the 135!
Shit my F30 335i runs at 1/4 oil temp normally… it’s got that aux radiator on the driver side and I also run the BMS oil filter thing but that’s it
