Loving that tent in the background! Same here brother !!
😂
I have to say, the hardest part about this job is trying not to go off on supervisors. I swear there's some sort of level of jerkiness and bad decision making requirement they have to pass in order to get the job. Zero patience? Hot headed? terrible at organizing and planning ahead? are quick decisions hard for you to make? No people skills whatsoever? Great!!! you're HIRED!!!
I was pissed because my supervisors never delivered mail a day in their lives yet couldn't understand how new carriers couldn't get X amount of work done in the allotted time. They expected way too much out of us too quickly. Examples:
My very first day, no academy, no training, they sent me out with like 60 packages. I was explained what to do by a girl who got there two weeks before me, she hadn't been properly trained yet either. I didn't deliver fast enough, hell I didn't even know how to properly load the truck.
Second- I was given half a route one day, the other half the next, then just given the full route the next day. The second day was double mail, about 500 houses (in other words I hit every house except maybe 3?). Full route was about 750 houses, DSP (ads that go to EVERY house) and about 80 parcels, in the snow. I was supposed to finish that in like 7-8 hours. Didn't happen.
It's goofy IMO expecting a carrier to finish that in time after 2 days working routes alone. I was OK too. Like with just parcels they want us delivering at least 20 an hour, I'd do 24-25.
My problem there was certain relays would be like one whole block and then part of another block and then back down the original block. But the rest of that second block would be part of another relay too. So many times I'd be grabbing packages that weren't on my relay, and leaving behind packages that were on it because of the street names. The other problem was flat out not being able to fit everything in the bag. Because of those two things I'd end up doing a bunch of backtracking.
With parcels it was much easier. Especially sometimes they'd number the packages in order so you just go from one to the next. Why couldn't they have numbered parcels for routes by particular relays? I would think getting stuff delivered would be more important than trying to force CCA's to learn everything in their unrealistic time-frame?
I ended up quitting. I loved every part of the job except management and their unrealistic expectations. Found a job that pays a little more, although probably won't make quite as much as USPS because their OT structure is awesome. I don't know if it was just me not being able to pick thing up fast enough or my office expecting too much too fast- I'd personally say it was the office but if course I'm biased 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's the way it is. Everyone from the outside thinks the job is easy.its like that in every office. U quitting makes every carrier in the office feel special now👍😎🤣🤣.
Good luck . U see women and old guys doing the job right. Anybody can do it u just have to learn the craft
The best advice is to remember, A.P.D.
Always play dumb
Nice grow tint!
My brother's
Lately ive been feeling like im taken advantage of for staying quiet doing everything im told, and being polite.
at times, when my supervisor tells me something but he/she is heated from someone elses bs, but leash out on me at times since I cant talk back since i feel like they would write me up or something since im still in probation like you said towards the end there.
The other day, I even had a carrier hear it a few cases down, and asked what happened. (when nothing happened, i just got there and was being told my work for the day) because of their tone of voice when speaking to me.
long story short, I try to always keep cool cause once i leave the office at least im outside alone doing my work minding my own business.
2 out of 4 supervisors atleast trust me and we keep it cool and friendly. other 2 are kinda strictly a coworker business like relationship.
not on bad terms with any of them
Great videos u are posting especially for the new stewards . I've been a steward/ Trustee for 6 years now
Im learning every day
I was Buzy when u sent the message. ! See there was this Hot lil Shawty dat tried to holla at ya boi...
I wasnt gonna let her slide by... so i stepped to her to get dem Digits.
During that time though..
A bird ...Flew into my Truck when i was occupied... n landed on my brakes. I had ate earlier so there was a lil bread n sauce on the brake.. The BIRD started pecking at my brake n released the brake so thats how the trailer broke loose n started rolling ...
Yes it did roll right inr
To a crowd of children waiting for the school bus and yes it did run 3 of them over and may have injured 7 others.. But..
It wasnt my fault..
I was there n standing next to the truck.. but being my legs are short.. i couldnt jump in the truck fast enough.. So thats how that all happened...
As you can see.. Im not guilty.. it waz just a freak accident out of my control!.
Can i go now?
Can I go now?? I’m supposed to be somewhere and this is slowing me down. ❤ this was funny thank you for the laugh
thanks for the tips. I am a pse clerk and your channel will be helpful learning my rights as a clerk
💯
Pre d.. Is called a investigative interview, if management calls you in the office and begins to give you a Investigative interview don't stop them and ask for a steward that's a automatic win for you... and it's not failure to follow instructions unless you're given a direct instruction.. if supervisor sends a message through the scanner but you weren't instructed to always check your scanner then you cannot be disciplined, if they say it's mandatory to check you scanner, if it's not posted in the office then it's not a rule..
Mostly the new people always in need of a Stewart. P.O is simple once u figured it out. Show up on time and just be there when u are scheduled to work. Don't take nothing personal. The harder u work or the more u know the more work they will give u. So pace yourself during the week. Mail Volume is different every day. Understand that the heaviest week is the first week of the month then the other 3 weeks will be lighter. Good luck. Do your best and report everything to mgmt they just want to feel special and in power. P.O doesn't want to fired u . They are always short staff . Who's going to do your RT. They just want u too carry that messy rt nobody wants😎👍 stay safe.. work smart not fast..
What is a residual route and if you submit paperwork for route preference, does that break hold-down?
A route that is residential. Homes, not businesses
How do we vote a Stewart out that is not doing his job.
A lot don't there job. Hopefully his term is up soon someone should run against them

im a new rca. my union steward all of a sudden is speaking to me in an angry negative tone compared to everyone else. I think they have started to workplace bully me because im getting this from other people i dont even know of have met yet as well. what should i do. I am slow but im new...
Contact your union hall
How do you become a union steward? Do you get paid for it? RCA here.
No extra pay and you apply for it when the season comes or another Steward steps down. I don't recommend it as a rca because management will play politics with you
Thanks Nick following you since I apply back on Feb /21. As a steward what you know about the privileges a CCA can gain when have a hold in a route for month’s.
Rotating day off, can't be taken off that route.
Hello Nick,
I hope all well.
I’m about to come to my 360 days at the job as CCA. I have been lucky they award me a holddown as a combowagen driver due to the fact that the regular went to a medical leave. Now since you are part of the union it’s a question: when I’m coming back after my week break that holddown it’s still mine.?
I asked my union representative and he says yes. I just want to hear a second answer.
Thank you so much brother
Yes. When I got back my bid was still mine
Congrats on the steward nick
Hi CCA Nick. Did you have a fixed schedule when you had commenced on the job training? What was your hours? Thanks
Not really my training I started working penalty my 3rd day lol
Hey Nick ! A few questions, when do you sign up for lite blue ? And when do you get your employee ID number ? Thanks !
I got mine at orientation if I remember right
Do Shop Stewards still wear the red name badge on the shirt pocket?
I don't
Paper trail yessss!!
What is CCAs seniority based on ?
The time you were hired
Good stuff!!
Morning Nick. Since you are now a Union Steward I am hoping you can answer my question. The union stewards at my branch don’t really seem to know and care about us CCA’s. I just passed my 90 days and have been sent do a different branch multiple times. I am worried I might be sent there permanently. I don’t want to stay at that branch. It is the most dangerous one in our district and I feel very unsafe working there. Do I have any rights to say no at all? If I am moved there permanently I will most likely quit the USPS. I appreciate you! Thanks
They can send you there to help but not 100% sure they can move you there permanently. Put a hold down on a route at your office. Management can't take you off of it.
@@MailmanNick Thanks for responding! Good to know. Have a great day 😊
The NALC (carrier's union) agreed to a two tiered system. FT regulars and CCAs. Not very united, huh? There's not a lot the employer can't do to CCAs. Get a hold on a route. Become a steward. Only 2 ways to avoid being shipped off to another office, as far as I know. Good luck!
