This song has always made me tear up... My mind drifts and I try to imagine what my father, my cousins and uncles went thru in Vietnam... I know a few of my cousins saw heavy action. Mom always told me at xmas time, Don't ask Johnny about Vietnam he saw allot of action there... Shit his brother TIMOTHY COLE PROUDFOOT died in 68... He's on the WALL
I want to say "thank you" to your Family for their service to the Nation. Many gave, some gave all. Makes me pride that there are still real Patriots in this Country. Semper Fi! I bid you Peace.
Yes!!! very true! This movie was made right after the end of the Vietnam War(1978) I saw this movie when I was a kid, and that song "Here I am" as stuck with me ever since.
Awesome film, one of the few ever shot in the order of the script, and a great song which was written by Craig Wasson (the actor playing the guitar), one of the best movies on Vietnam, and maybe the least well known
Awesome movie however it wasn't combat I'd leave that to Platoon, Hamburger Hill, Full Metal Jacket and Saving Private Ryan. This movie here felt more like Mash in a good way
Very underrated movie!
One of the most underrated Vietnam/Marine Corps movies

I was very young when I first saw this movie. This song has stuck with me. Probably the best Vietnam movie next to The Green Berets.
+gtrevino50 "The Green Berets?!?" c'mon dude, that hyped-up john wayne propaganda bullshit..you can do better than that!
How about "84 Charlie Mopic"?
So captivating the first time i saw and heard this
Saw this at the cinema when it first came out, a very underated movie.

I first saw Craig Wasson in the 3rd Nightmare on Elm Street movie.
I love this movie but the two bodies being picked up off the Jeep seemed rather lite.

Best Marine Vietnam war movie. What it probably really was like a total cluster fuck. Semper Fi ‘83-‘87
The worst Vietnam movie ever made. I remember when it came out, I walked out of the theater and demanded my money back and got it! Pat not Debbie
Why the worst?
