Hi Sheila, I'm 64 too. Glad I got to see Ten Years After when I was 16. I loved Alvin Lee. Stood at front of stage, he looked right at me singing Good Morning Little School Girl. Best birthday present, along with getting my drivers license!!

True story! The 60's and 70's was the best music ever! Everyone knew all the members of each band rather than just the lead singer. They could all play their instruments wickedly! The music back then was such a high caliber that you had to take on the likes of Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Stones, The Beetles, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimi Hendricks, Elton John, Black Sabbath, Bob Marley, etc... etc... just to name a few to get to be #1 on the charts! How hard would that be? Playing as a kid before screen time existed was awesome too! Building huts playing in the street and in the bush, no one wanted to go home! Good times! :-)

It’s 2019, music is everywhere these days with its genres but to come back to the classics and actually soothe your ears and soul is a blissful feeling of history. I remember hearing this many years ago and I still whistle this flute chime till this day.
It’s pretty amazing to see all the story’s from the past generation of amazingly talented artists and the fans that followed I really missed a great time in history I’m 16 for reference and I won’t listen to the music that my generation listens to I think it’s garbage so I shall do my part and continue rocking these classic tunes that clearly have stood the test of time and change
When Canned Heat started to play, a nude dude started dancing through the crowd. He was terribly sun burned and high as a kite. I will always remember that.
I'm 65 I was ten in "69" my brother was in Vietnam I'll love that time forever, seen a bunch of bands that played the original Woodstock, since then. seems like the good times are gone.🎸☮️
This movie was so damn fantastic! I was born in '70 and in my childhood, this was one of those yearly 'event' tv things like the Wizard of Oz of Charlie Brown's Christmas. I first saw it when i was about 11. It changed everything. This here montage remains the closest ive ever seen to a true representation of paradise
after long hair times came long families with long responsabilities and long bank debts ,and some of us comming from that decade ( end 60s and most part of the 70s) started working for long corporations so we could live in this complex society and now those times seem to me so long ago...I still listen to those long legendary rock bands almost everyday Although I´m happy and not complaining...I truly miss the long hair and wild times, The seed of those times changed things and changed me for ever..
you sir are correct................ for me, then spending years in the military complex my look on the world today........ fucking awesome I grew up a surfer from so. cailf cheers
+C Louise Always ready for a road trip! Came here looking for a musical one to take me away from all this snow and cold, even if only for a few minutes.
Man it would have been so cool to have lived during the 60's and the Woodstock era..so much really cool music and people..peace and love man..pity there wasn't the same kind of attitudes today..the world would be a much better place
This is about nature-loving people with long hair and beards wearing festive garb made of natural fibers while listening and dancing to organic music and grooving on the peaceful vibe. I miss that.
I was only 2 in 1967. But still lucky I grew up listening to this awesome music. Even did pilgrimages to Bethel New York six times to see the Woodstock site. First year I went I got invited inside Max Yagers. Farm house by the present owner. Magical time that was back then. Glad the history and memory is still alive today.
What happened to good music. All we get now is MICROPHONE CRUNCHERS AND HEAD BANGING MUSIC and you can't even make out the words their singing. Bring back the golden oldies I say !!!
This song reminds me of some of the best times of my life. Definatly one of the funnest, happiest and trippiest tunes to listen to while on acid, i miss thoes days :/

Do you think the world was just peaches and cream in 1969? Things are a lot better now in a lot of ways. And there are still many people even now who live like the people in this movie did... just peaceful, easy-going people who aren't out to hurt anyone but have a good time. The MUSIC.... well, the MUSIC has certainly gone downhill since then, I won't lie lol
Our teachers for sure! I was a punk and before that a metal head, but wow! I love my hippie teachers! I feel lucky to be a child in the 60's! I feel lucky to have learned from them
I was a little too young for woodstock but learned about it after the fact. I have always had an appreciation for this music and remember when I felt teh music. I always liked the video of the young lady breaking out in a dance by herself at 1:15 I think this demonstrates the music and the festival at its best
Pode pois! :) Mas actualmente o mesmo espírito do Woodstock provavelmente não o encontrarás nos woodstocks que fazem recentactualmente. Se gostares de música electrónica com grandes BPM's festas de Trance podem ser perfeitas para ti.
People were hating so much on skate 3 but for me, something that gives you this much nostalgia, doesn’t deserve the hate! Real one knows the feeling of finding the super ultra mega park for the first time! One of the best feelings ever!

I'm not a flute person but the guy who plays the flute in this song is awesome as is the song itself. Oh, how I wish I had a Doobie right now while I'm listening to this song. ❤️
This is certainly a great song because the music of the 60's certainly had a message. Going to where the water tastes like wine. If such a place exists...Then point the way.
I love my generation I'm 74, a Viet Nam Combat Veteran, I like 3 guitars and drum rock and roll but, I love the Woodstock Music with the variety of instruments better

I love this intro to the film. I saw this at a midnight late show in 1978. Yes, so many thoughts and emotions attached to this song. The silhouettes dancing, the nun's peace sign/smile/freeze frame, no one hung up about how many this or thats in attendance...I'd love a time machine.
Yes, so right. My go-to song for cruising around my beautiful country New Zealand in a small campervan. Have loved this song all my adult life, and it always lifts my spirit and soul.
I'm 64 to young for Woodstock, just heard this for the first time in my life Oct.. 2022 .and I just loved it, I live in the country my daughter in the city , described her needs to a T. LOVED it in INDIANA 53 YEARS LATER, glad I got to hear it in my time...
That was so cute : the nun flashing the peace sign ! Love it ! This is the best Woodstock vid segment Ive ever seen. No wasted kids sliding in mud and garbage. This is beautiful. The song is one of my all time faves. Im ready to be going up the country right now. Gotta get lost for a while and be able to see the stars at night and hear the crickets. Aaaahhhh !
I’m 13 and I wish I could go back in time, to playing skate 3 and cod with my big brother and being able to enjoy the lifestyle. I also miss the times where me and my family drove up the country listening to 60s and 70s classics to settle the mood. I remember the day I moved to Africa and ever since then I’ve been loving it here. I have lived in Africa for most of my life and it’s amazing. I may be young but I knew how to have fun even in the past, and I sure do have a good taste in music😀
Well Im one of those people and still around. I have gone to back to the Woodstock site a few times and have to say ,I still consider it sacred ground. Best days of my life.
***** I was born in 1962, and so it was not an option fro me to go there, :-(. But had it been then one way or another somehow I feel I would of made it there, I have been to a few music festivals but none will live the test of time such as Woodstock, So pleased you replied my friend, and so pleased you are still around for I look at things this way, for as long as anyone person had went to Woodstock is still breathing and living, Woodstock still exists, but once the last person dies then the festival will die also. Live Long and Prosper my friend.
I was one of those people and remember hearing them play this - when they announced over the speakers to get off the towers in the movie I was at the bottom of the tower - that is when I say ''that's me'' now on the Big Island

It's a trip, man.
@@jeffalbillar7625 I agree, it is a Kermit trip!!!

WALX, your words say it all, say it right😎. yes. wholesome. no other way to say it😎.
And one other thing, guys. the only other thing which comes close, in this sense of wholesome sound, is Dickey Betts doing Blue Sky😎. and both of these are really another notch up. celestial😎.
I can hardly imagine what this video means to someone who grew up during these times. I'm 19 and it brings a tear to my eye.
I lived it!!
@@ValBurgess-th5dkwhat a time to be alive, good ol loving and living. Technology really changed our species as a whole.
It was a better time; full of possibilities. But emphasis on material things did us in.

You are 100% Right. Today's Music, Ain' t Music. Just. Horrible Noise
i love this song. there will never be another woodstock. it paved the way for future outdoor concerts
My dads ALL TIME favorite song everrrrr... grew up listening to this till the day he left this world..bless his heart✌❤✌❤✌
A 1928 Henry Thomas song:

When Canned Heat started to play, a nude dude started dancing through the crowd. He was terribly sun burned and high as a kite. I will always remember that.
LOL Wonder if he still remembers it!

And many of the younger generation like me follow in those big footstep and will be ever thankful for the path you blazed.
Upon hearing this I'm ready for a road trip! Anyone else? :-)
Right behind you . You up in Northern California?
+Gary Walton Good to hear. Are there still bears up there?
+C Louise Always ready for a road trip! Came here looking for a musical one to take me away from all this snow and cold, even if only for a few minutes.
Yep! All we need are a few loose hippy chicks to come with us and we're good to go! Like the brunette in the middle of the screen at 1:51.
Sam Samuels that's a guy.
My late best friend and I saw these fine fellers once or twice. Al, sadly had passed, but we still had Bob, and he could boogie!
I was one of the 450,000 who loved every moment. Wavy Gravy said We must be in Heaven man.
Man it would have been so cool to have lived during the 60's and the Woodstock era..so much really cool music and people..peace and love man..pity there wasn't the same kind of attitudes today..the world would be a much better place
On a hot summer day in the early 70's, this song came on the AM radio in the kitchen and my pop turned it up.
Un concerto ed una manifestazione come quella di Woodstock rimarrà nella storia anche tra quando non ci saremo più, nei secoli. Grande
What happened to good music. All we get now is MICROPHONE CRUNCHERS AND HEAD BANGING MUSIC and you can't even make out the words their singing. Bring back the golden oldies I say !!!
lol headbangers wasn´t invented now
This song reminds me of some of the best times of my life. Definatly one of the funnest, happiest and trippiest tunes to listen to while on acid, i miss thoes days :/
Hello, how old are you, is it still possible to hitchhike at the moment? what were you working on that's great you got into a volkswagen
@@hilarycortes1143 I don’t know about him, but I’m pretty old I was five years old when Woodstock happened. Of course it’s safe to hitchhike. We only have about 300 active serial killers in the United States at any one time. What’s the chance you could get hurt?😁
Couldn't remember the name of the song, i simply typed "Woodstock flute song" and I found it :D

Watching this in 2020 and I'm shaking my head in disbelief at what the world has become . Peace out x
Watching in 2021, now we have Trashy Scott
And only getting worse. So damn sad, ain't it, esp what we are doing to our beautiful planet
Stay cool, meet you on the flip side. 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵

Looks amazing... Camping with friends and getting high while there is amazing artist's playing....man i wished i could go back in time:/
It WAS wonderful.
u can do it again, go to festivals!!!!
huge lespu it will never be the same
Pode pois! :) Mas actualmente o mesmo espírito do Woodstock provavelmente não o encontrarás nos woodstocks que fazem recentactualmente. Se gostares de música electrónica com grandes BPM's festas de Trance podem ser perfeitas para ti.
I was there, and this music is still moving me, in my early 80's!
I love this era! We are all showing & feeling our age. Still wish it was this time.....
People were hating so much on skate 3 but for me, something that gives you this much nostalgia, doesn’t deserve the hate!
Real one knows the feeling of finding the super ultra mega park for the first time!
One of the best feelings ever!
Why can't music be like this anymore? Man times have changed. And not in a good way
yes .
Except it's a cover of Bull Dose Blues from the 20s.
Amanda Jackson music is like this now...u have lil yachty and he sounds just as horrible as this guy does attempting to sing smfh
Then just enjoy the music that is on YT and records stores from the Hippie and Woodstock era!!!
Cause then you wouldnt have nostalgic feelings...

What a really sweet song by CH.. such a sound so evocative of that whole Woodstock (hip / hippy) era. So glad to have experienced same AND to be able to re-visit thanks to YT!!

Being a "hippie" is an expression of freedom often caused by the constraints of life.
Blind Owl, you had such a beautiful voice...RIP my friend :)

Schaefer Beer! The one beer when you’re having more than one! We drank that in Upstate NY during the 60’s and 70’s. Brewery in Albany NY

I love this intro to the film. I saw this at a midnight late show in 1978. Yes, so many thoughts and emotions attached to this song. The silhouettes dancing, the nun's peace sign/smile/freeze frame, no one hung up about how many this or thats in attendance...I'd love a time machine.

As a 13 yr old I can relate to everything u said

Simplesmente fantástico,Canned Heat é muito foda, retrata muito o espirito do Woodstock.
I often wonder, where these people are now, do they ever look at these Wood stock videos and say hey "that's me" amazing place to oh been.
