Much to everyone's surprise my friend who had a Daytona 955i for years and years suddenly went out and bought a Thruxton last year. It was interesting that the one thing that blew him away was the handling , which bearing in mind his old one was a a sports oriented bike with a monoshock, showed just how far suspension design has come on in the last 15 years. The Thruxton may look retro but it's also a very capable modern motorcycle.
i have a 2022 Triumph Scrambler 1200XC, and it handles great as well. It moves when you want, and it moves easily, there’s absolutely zero resistance, and it does it quickly. it’s pure joy to ride.

you can make that dream come true. buying a motorcycle is definitely doable. buy one if you want one. make it happen for yourself. you are the only person in your way. so there’s no reason not to get one.

@@ginoasci you're right, thanks for your kind words, where I'm from the bike is 250% the original price so that's a start.
I love this video. Very down to earth and practical. I have this bike - the Chrome edition and simply love it. I think listening to you would be like listening to a friend when on a ride. Casual and friendly. Thanks for doing this!
Beautiful bike ! The chrome tank is stunning , a cafe racer's dream . Plus flashy bits ,what more could you want ? Polished engine cases maybe ? This one is a Vizsla .
Stunning machine, perfect Naughty boy bike for folks of my vintage 😁 I owned a Thruxton R for a couple of years and loved it, so smooth and responsive, great fun! The chrome really looks amazing. Bostin video 👍🏻
Really enjoyed this. Nice to see your respect for the running in revs. A positive and enjoyable review and my god, she looks sooo gorgeous. Thank you. Neil
There is no doubt it a cracking bike 👍 Wendy better watch out me thinks 😀 The only thing for my personal taste are the black wheels, that bike would have really popped with chrome or aluminium rims but what a view in the cockpit.
I love this bike, and your video! A great review. Only 2 miles on the clock, a Yorkshireman putting extra fuel in when it was half full, and a different route, hmmm..... It really does look the perfect retro bike without limitations on the ride and the best possible looks. Your love of it shows what great taste you have!
The Splendiferous year of the naughty boy bike indeed and what a marvellous machine to give us a perfect example. I picked up on an element of tongue in cheek with this one. Quite a few of your elaborations hinted at something unsaid, a story yet to be told 🤔 😉 A premium bike deserves premium fuel and whoever buys this one is going to feel pretty premium themselves. Your perfectly right, there is only one solution, I know what mine would be, roll on 2023 😘
Very pretty bike Mr TAYM. I think it would taste like a Galaxy Bar, smooth and silky. Not overly keen on the full chrome tank, rather blinding and distracting in bright sunshine 🌞(not that that affects us too often 😂) Nice review 😁
Fantastic bike. You have things pretty good in the UK bike wise . Here in Australia test rides are really rare. Fuelling not allowed to sit on bike whilst filling up & you must remove your helmet( even open face) before going to pay.
What a beauty, you do seem slightly smitten 😍. Are we seeing the beginning of a new norty boy era for Mr TAYM. I'm sure Mrs TAYM would let you indulge 😛
Lovely bike, I'd like it with the half fairing and a gloss black tank. Think you was getting your helmets mixed up with your suspension. Looking forward to warm sunny rides.😊
I previously owned a Thruxton R (first year 2016) which was an excellent motorcycle but unfortunately my ancient bones said anything beyond 100 miles was not comfortable for me so to the T120 I did go. I do wish the T120 had the same suspension and motor tune of the Thruxton with the accessories of the T120 like cruise control and heated grips etc. The chrome tank on your tester seems a bit over the top but again, to each his own. Thanks for the ride.
A Splendiferous review TAYM I always enjoy your reviews because your love of motorcycles shines through and you always take each bike on its own merits in real world normal riding. Now the Thruxton RS is an absolute thing of beauty and clearly stole your heart and as we all know it is far better to ask for forgiveness than permission so I only have 2 questions. No.1 When is it arriving ? and No.2 what did Mrs TAYM say when you told her ? 🤣🤣🤣
Mr TAYM, great looking bike, but not naughty 'nuff for me. I wish Triumph would put a little more shoulder to the Thruxton and make it a higher performing machine than it is today.
spanking gorgeous bike. About time you did your bit for the economy and let some of those moths out 😁💸💸💸 - I'm guessing you either had this bike for a whole day or for a couple of days looking at the time on the clocks?
Another beauty Mr TAYM; for me it's ruined by the finish of the exhausts and forks, I would prefer chrome exhausts with double skinned headers and black forks - but each to their own, fantastic bike. Ride safe and take care.
Very Nice, Very Fast. Not my kind of thing. Whoops already made that comment. I have a friend, Peter Jenks (creator of the original Bonneville Seat Bolts) who had the first Thruxton which was effectively a lightly modified Bonnie and I think that was nearer the mark. This is no doubt an excellent bike, but It's no longer a Bonnie. Somehow Triumph has drifted from its core market and is now making bikes for a different segment. The vacuum left is now being filled by Royal Enfield very well indeed. I would like to see a return to basics. The Bobber should be that bike, but it is way too expensive for that. Now don't hit me for saying that... 😉
Knew you'd like it, shame you couldn't use its potential. Sat on the chrome one at the show. Back and forth with the T120, at a previous show I felt more at home on the Thruxton, this time the 120. Must be getting old and I ain't gonna get younger (unless I up the yoga). As someone else mentioned, a 120 with Thruxton spec would be ideal (maybe just a cam and remap) coz the Speed Twin seemed slight for some reason, though it's supposed to bridge the gap.
I'm kind of torn with this bike because it's really not my style, but it is a good looking bike. I guess I would have to ride one then decide how I feel. 🤔
I was always wondering if with a all chromed tank if it was blinding at times. I know the chrome dome helmets, can blind a car driver can happen, that an all chrome tank could do the same. You were not giggling like a school girl with this bike, so don't think it's the one. I love the look, but I just saw the price......... like to own it, just don't want to pay for it. But if they made the clocks look like watch gearing and movement like, I think I would go and see one. Lucky boy to test ride a bike with 2 miles on it. We don't have test rides here where I live at least, you are lucky. As for me, bad morning. Back pain is back with bad dreams while sleeping this morning. We will see what the day has for me.
TAYM back out on the naughty boy bikes again I can see you definitely have a taste for naughtiness, I'm thinking that Triumph have copied RE with these chrome models but hey to copy is the sincerest form of flattery 😁.Never liked bar ends though I am sure they are practical and all that but they don't look right to me somehow . She's a looker TAYM and no mistake but those downpipes what is it these days with downpipes they just go awful so quick and this one with only a couple hundred miles on .The Japanese bikes from years ago never had this issue and for me it is an issue cos if it is supposed to be chrome and this one certainly is then the pipes need to stay chrome !, and no center stand by the looks "again'' come on Triumph what's that about (money makin ) .Well if I was a betting man TAYM I would bet that your going to own one of these naughty bikes in the very near future .😉Ooop's wrote to much again 😅👌👍

Why bother having a bright shiny fuel tank on your pride and joy when after a short trip along the road your header pipes look like they belong in a scrap bin. They are awful, spoilt a fantastic looking bike and for the best part of £14 grand plus it just ain`t good enough.
